I thought that to get married, your spouse had to have the same eye color as you did.
I always believed everything an adult told me, and always did as I was told. My Mom forgot this once after telling me to sit still--I sat there for 4 hours according to her...I still remember how bad I had to use the bathroom when she finally found me!

When my parents came home with my new sister, my father said if she cried at night he'd give her away. (I believed this) I slept under her crib for 3 years to prevent him from doing so!

I used to believe that you had to marry someone if they had your same last name. I believed this untill I was 11. When I meet a guy with my same last name, I avoided him, however he would keep talking to me. I freaked out and screamed at him that I would not be his wife. Boy was he confused. =P

When I was younger, the term "dumping" was never explained to me, as far as relationships. So accordingly, I associated it with "trash cans". This is why I thought being "dumped" was so bad and why women would rather dump the man before he could dump her. Sounded so painful!
I remember when I was 5 years old, my dad gave me a bath. While I was hanging out in the tub playing with the water and toys my dad had a friend visiting with him. I remember over hearing my dad saying to his friend how he felt very tired and that he felt and was falling apart at his age. I literally thought he was "falling a part." I was crying all night long.

I assumed that some people were born old, and I happened to be born young and would stay pretty much the same forever.

Sometimes when my parents were late picking me up from my grandma's after school, I assumed that they decided they didn't want me after all and wouldn't be coming to get me. I'd walk around my grandma's house, thinking "yeah, I guess it would be okay to live here from now on".
I thought my mum was Aretha Franklin.
We are white.
But, she had a beehive like her, and talked about make up, which, of course is in the song
