I used to believe that doctors lived off of medicine until I saw my own doctor at the grocery store buying chicken.

When I was 4, I had a blue ball, I asked my mom who's it was, she said it was "The Family's" for a while, I thought "The Family" where some creeps who lived somewhere near my house.

I used to believe that people didn't grow old, I mean, I really thought that my grandmother just born with that age, and I was terrified when I discovered that my mom would be really old one day.

After I realized I couldn't be another species when I grew up, I decided I would be a ballet and tap dancer. My dad disappointed me when he told me dancers don't make much money, so I was on the hunt for another job.

One day at a baseball game, the hot dog man came around. He was carrying this HUGE wad of cash. One look and apparently my eyes got huge. I KNEW that's what I wanted to be. I'd never have to worry about money. Plus I loved to yell HOOOOTT DOOOGG!

I told everyone about my dream, but I didn't tell them how much money the hot dog man made because I didn't want anyone to steal my job.

As a child my parents always encouaged me, saying that I could be whatever I wanted to be when I grew up. I was amazed by this and thought about it for a long time. When people asked what I wanted to be, I'd answer, proudly, a tiger!

I knew our cats had it so much better than my parents. They got petted and didn't have to work. But I wanted to be bigger and meaner so I could bite my little brother. I thought after I finished high school I would be able to turn into a tiger.

I used to believe adults lived where they worked. I thought the staff room (teachers' lounge) at school was some sort of complex, although the teachers actually slept on their desks. I whole-heartedly believed the minister slept in one of the pews (some had long, mattress-like cushions on them): it seemed ludicrous a building as big as a church would be kept for just an hour a week - something that still baffles me!

When I was young, I desperately wanted to work in the circus when I grew up, as I thought this job was mainly hitting lions with chairs. I believed this until i proudly proclaimed it to my summer camp leader when i was 7, where he rightfully corrected me and told me what people actually did in the circus.

I'm a girl. When I was a little kid, I always used to think I could be a dad when I grew up!

I used to believe that as we grew up we actually changed sex. So if you were born a boy you would eventually change into a female. I was really upset that i may not be able to have a baby as i would have eventually changed into a male. Thankfully i didn't change and now am expecting my first child!

I used to think that a baby shower was when the mommy took a shower with her new baby son/daughter, and everyone came to watch.

I spent a lot of time with my dad, he worked at home. When I was 3 and 4 and would misbehave, he would say "When I was a little girl, I didn't do that." I knew caterpillars changed to butterflies, and pollywogs to frogs, so for a while I thought I could grow up to be a daddy. My mother disabused me of that notion, when she heard it.

I used to believe…

When i was about 3 or 4, my mom once jokingly pretended to be a baby and said i was now her mommy and i thought she was serious, that in some strange way i was now her mother and she was now my baby daughter. I became hysterical and bawled my eyes out. Of course, she never did that again!

I used to believe…

When i was little, aboout 4 years old, my 11 year old brother would terrorize me by telling me he could turn me into a frog using a cereal carton to get me to do his bidding. I would tell him i didn't believe him, but then he would sit me on a chair and start muttering gibberish while waving the box around. I would get hysterical and do whatever he wanted me to.

I thought when you get married you have to fill out a form to get a baby and then you get one.

I used to believe…

When I was very young I managed to convince myself my mother had another family, and whenever she went to work she actually lied and went to visit her other family and her other children! I had a very over-reactive imagination XDDDDD

I used to think that one day, my family would suddenly become broke, and we would have nowhere to live or nothing to eat. So, every morning on my way out the front door, I would pick some flower petals from our front yard as a "back-up food supply. I think I was in preschool.

When I was young I didn't realise that women changed their last name when they got married...so I thought that you married someone with the same last name as you. I was sure I was destined to marry my cousin.
