I used to think that me and my sister were twins because we both had a fluffy blue jumper.......she is 3 years older than me.
I thought that in a Gay relationship there had to be a man playin the part of a women.
So I always asked if I heard that someone was gay: "Who is the women in the releatin ship"
There were twins in my class at school, and I thought that one day my younger sister would be the same age as me and look exactly like me, and people would think we were twins.

I used to believe that the number of people in your family dictate how many fingers you had. Since there were five of us, I rationalized that's why I had five fingers.
My mother was raised in an orphanage, and my father had parents, so I thought all mothers came from orphanages. I was around ten when a friend told me about her mother being a little girl and NOT in an orphanage.
I used to believe that since my grandma on my dad's side and my grandpa on my mom's side were boh widows that they would marry. They were from the same town, they were both our grandparents, why not, right? Funny thing is that my sisters had the same thoughts as well. Never happened, though. I think they took wedding vows a bit more seriously back then.
My mother use to say to my sister & I when we were in elementary school that if we consistently disobeyed her or gave her a hard time, she would call "Mr. Jones" to have us sent to his "farm" for bad children.

I used to think it was an amazing coincidence that all my members of my family had the same name.
I used to believe that, when explaining a realisation I had to my elders, by stating that "a friend said" or that "I had read somewhere"... what I was saying would be believed (and yes I was telling the truth and it was usually correct as well). See I was brought up in a family that told me I didn't know anything because I was young. Even to this day I find myself having "genious moments" of realisation and discussing them with my boyfriend, telling him that somone at work had said... Never taking credit for the things I had figured out, even when it is fact.

I used to believe that my parents weren't my real parents, but were instead imposters wearing masks. Therefore, every once in a while I would try and catch them out pulling at their noses to try and remove the masks. They initially found this behaviour cute, but after a while my dad got really annoyed about it and would yell at me whenever I did it.... thus re-enforcing my belief.
As a child, I was told that every fourth human being was a chineese. As i was the fourth of four sisters, I was convinced that i was chineese...
My brother is fiftteen years older than me. When I was litlle he told me he knows everything - and I believed him.

A neighbor down the street has his car repossessed. We told my younger brother that mom and dad had not paid the doctor bills for his birth and they would soon be coming to reposes him.
I used to think my grandma was THE Mary Poppins.
When my Mum left my older sisters in charge of me whilst she was out, she told me that she had given them authority to smack me if I was naughty.
I spent ages looking for this authority hoping I could get rid of it before they could use it on me!
I told my little sister that she was stolen from Gypsies. I told her that me and my parents where on vacation and saw a group of gypsies washing their clothes beside a river and that she was laying in a basket to the side sleeping, so my parents stole her. She believed me for years until my mother finally got tired of me torturing my sister, so she dug up some old pictures of my sister in the hospital right after she was born to prove that she was an offical member of our family.
When my sisters and I were young and we were misbehaving...I used to believe that my mom was calling an orphanage to come and pick us up because we were being bad. I later found out that she was just calling "Time".
I wondered where I had come from. My numerous older siblings informed me that they had found me in a park. That I was taken as an egg from a nest. They said they MIGHT put me back. I was afraid to go the park.
At age five I was told my mother had to go to the hospital to "lose weight". In reality, she went to the hospital, gave birth and placed the baby for adoption. I learned the truth at age twelve and finally at age forty, (a couple of years ago) was reunited with my "lost" sister.
One day I was six years old. My dad told me that superman and the invicible man and superman came to my home in the afternoon. So he recorded is own voice with a taperecorder pretending he was superman and the invicible man. telling me to do my homework and be nice to my parents and grandparents. The next day I told the story in school and everybody was like woooow they came to your home. I was really scared that they would come back whenever I did something wrong. But now after 22 years I know it was him.
