grown-ups: getting older

i used to believe thatif you were a girl, by the age of18, you`ll transforme into a... boy!Entirely(if you know what i mean)!!!!

When I was very little, an older family friend would always talk about how she was "shrinking" and that one day I'd be bigger than her. Well, I took this information and from my very active imagination, I concluded that people grow as big as giants when they turn 100. Then, they start to go backwards, and they shrink until they become babies again. This cycle would continue until the person died from being shot or some completely unnatural thing. I really was a strange kid.

My little brother came home from his pre-school/day care one day and said to my mother and I...."I bet you can't wait to be little like me so you can go to Goodies too!" - ha, cute kid

Remember the Toys R Us Song and Peter Pan? When I was 6 they inspired me to never want to grow up. I remember believing I could will myself to stay 6 forever. I told all my family I was always going to be 6 so that I could play all the time and not have to grow up and become boring (have a job, not watch cartoons, that sort of thing).

My brother told me that I would turn into a boy when I got older. It made me cry.

When I was little I didn't know what the word teenager meant. I heard it a lot on tv or when my sister's friends came over. I never once thought to ask anyone what it meant, so I came up with my own definition. According to me at age 5 a teenager was an evil person who broke into your house at night to steal your toys. How I ever got this idea, I don't know. I found out what it really meant when I was about 6 and I was watching a tv show with my sister. It was about this group of teenagers and stuff that they did...so whenever they said the word teenager I would think to myself, if the people who make this tv show know that teenagers exist, why do they let them be on tv? I mean, back then I thought stealing toys was the worst thing you could do. When I asked my sister why this was so, she couldn't stop laughing. She still makes fun of me now. On my 13th birthday, she came up to me and sed "you're a teenager now, go steal someone's toys" i hate her.

I used to believe that when you got to certain age you had all your teeth removed, this was because both my parents have false teeth. (I now attend the dentist regularly!)

My mom had a mole on the back of her leg. I used to think that when I became a woman, I would have one too. I thought it was a part of puberty, like developing breasts.

i use to think that you would never stop growing and you'd get too big for your house. my parents didn't get it when i kept asking like "what happens when you get too big for your house?"

also once my neighbor got extensions and told me they had glued hairs one by one onto her real hair and i honestly believed this was a common process for many years...

I use to think that if you were pretty from the grades 1-5th grade then when u get to middle school you would become real ugly..

I used to believe that when you became a "grown-up", you would automatically know how to do grown-up things, like drive a car, pay bills or balance a checkbook. *sigh* If only...

When i was in 4th grade. My mother told me that babies came from the heaven and god made them just the way they look now. Well i truly thought this so i told one of my friends at school that we were going to be this small for ever i later found out that we still grow after you come out of your moterd stomach

I used to believe that people grew backwards, too. My older sister complimented me on a dress, for instance, and I told her I'd put it away for her for "when she was my age".
Maybe I had some early knowledge of reincarnation... or perhaps I just watched too much "Mork & Mindy".

When I was 3 years old, I thought that you could switch genders as you grew up. People with dominant personalities would become male adults while people with passive personalities would become female adults.

When i was little i was a really big tomboy...so i had the thought that when you grew up you would become the opposite sex(boys turn into girls and vice versa)...until i was about 6 i was extrememly disturbed that my dad used to be a girl.

I used to believe that grown-ups, especially my parents, never cried. Really messed me up when it happened for the first time.
