I remember my dad worked for an amusement machine place and brought me home a puppet sailor - similar to a laughing policeman as seen at Blackpool. It had all the workings and I sat him on the window sill.
We (my younger sister and I) watched Poltergeist (you can guess what is coming)
Remember the clown doll scene? I woke up one morning and for some reason I winked at my sailor puppet - and he winked back. I realise now that it was because I had only just woken up but I FEKKING SH*T MYSELF!!!
He was gone just a few short hours later. That damn film had put me off soft toys for life.

Throughout my childhood, my mother always wondered why I had an unexplainable fear of dolls..... until at a later age I explained my sister had told me that 'all dolls were, in fact dead babies' thanxs sis! I only discovered the truth when I was about 11!

I used to believe I was part of a scientific experiment to study how a human acts in controled environment. I believed there was another planet of people and the earth was made by them to watch me. They knew my every thought and I tried to control what I was thinking. I'd think thoughts like "I know you are watching me!" I also thought there would be protests to try and set me free, like the Truman Show.

When I was about 11, my Sunday School teacher told me that Dungons and Dragons was evil. I had never heard of the game and thought that any book or movie with either a dungon or a dragon in it was a sin.

It was also brought up in the class that the Cabbage Patch Kids Co was run by Satanists and that they would put their souls into the dolls. My teacher did nothing to disuade this idea, and as a result I was terrified of my little sister's Cabbage Patch doll.

When i was young i had a racer (bike) and used to hate cleaning it. On this one day i could not shift a bit a dirt for love nor money, so i went and asked my step dad to help me. Probably sick and tired of helping change tyres oil this that and the other he told me to go back and put some 'elbow grease' into it. Off back to the garage i went, i returned 5 minutes later saying 'where do you keep the elbow grease then i cant find it'!!!!!!!!!.
As you can imagine this brought much laughter and a very red face when explained.

I believed that when I fell asleep, all my toys and people on my wall posters would protect me from evil monsters. I made sure I had big strong people on my posters, and toys that could look after themselves!

I used to believe (and still kind of do)that life was like a virtual reality game and people would wake me up from it in the real world. If I put it back on though I wouldn't remember it.

I used to think that every night i was transported to a different planet where everything was exactly the same as it was here, same house.parents school,everything-except i could never work out why my parents hadnt missed me!!(maybe iv was a wierd child and they liked the break?!

i used to believe the weather depended on me ...
when i was really good, it was very sunny, or snowed if it was winter.

when i was really bad, it would rain

when i was angry, there would be thunder and lightning

when i was scared, there would be fog (dont ask)

after watching back to the future i believed that if you road a bike fast enough it will turn in to a delorian and go back in time

When I was at school, i used to believe that the whole world was set up to watch me. That no-one had real lives except me and that when I passed by they became obsolete and vanished. I was perplexed later on in life of course to see the movie of The Truman Show - That was exactly how I thought it was - maybe it still is?

when i was about 3 my mum told me that when i went to sleep or if i was out of my room my toys came alive and played and always believed this until one day when i was about 9 i was talking to my friend about it and they said it wasn't true so i called in my mum and she said my friend was right and she thought i knew that she was joking,i was very upset and anrgy with my mum!

i used to believe that only i could think and anybody else could'nt do anything unless i was there.

Y'know where it says on toy boxes, "Not suitable for children under 36 months"? I used to think it meant 36 years! My mom convinced me that she'd have to play keep them hidden until I was old enough, and until the age of 11 or so I *always* used to peek in her wardrobe to see if she had any 36-year-old toys. In retrospect, I'm glad she didn't!!

i used to beleive that paople weren't born. (i no that sounds dumb, but read on). i believed that everyone just came to earth as they were when i first met them. so no-one was just, like, 'born'. they just kind of materialized when i met them.
