Until I was in 5th grade, I was absolutely convinced that I was a Pegasus queen from another planet, sent to earth for some reason that I couldn't remember because I had amnesia from falling on my head when I landed.

I used to belive that my dolls played when I was asleep. I would set them out to do things - like a tea party or something - when I went to bed. When I'd get up in the morning they would be where they belonged. Little did I know my mom put them away. I mean, she never put anything else away for me! lol
Me and my sister had this toy phone that played generic recordings when you pressed a button--They were in a girl's voice. When the batteries started to die every once in awhile, the voice would get slow and deep. We just thought it was a man picking up the phone instead of the girl.
When I was young, my evil cousins would tell me the story of the China doll that wouldn't die! She was an evil doll from China that murdered the family that purchased her. For years I heard different versions, but all of them ended in scary fashion. To this day I cannot stand to look at any Oriental dolls and if I happen to catch sight of one, I have this compelling urge to run by it as fast as I can.
I used to believe that my toys would wake up when I went to sleep, and would play by themselves.
A mischievous friend convinced his younger brother that the test for whether or not you were a robot was to chew on aluminum foil. If it hurt to do it, that was a reaction from the electrical current which powered you. The younger brother tested positive of course, and broke in to tears, for he did not want to be a robot.
When I was little I had a black doll called Susie. My friend told me not to sleep with the doll in my room cos it would come alive at night and kill me. My mum was furious when she discovered I had put the doll in the bin (she didn't find out until after the binmen had been round)!

my mom used to tell me that if you actually fed those baby dolls that were designed to eat and poo, etc... they would get worms.
When I was very young, I saw a Vincent Price movie called The House of Wax. The one part I vividly remember is when he was trying to fix the eyes on a wax figure he was carving by removing them, there were real eyes underneath - it turns out his dead girlfriend was under the wax. I had one of those dolls that had their eyes closed when they were layed down, and would open when you sat them up - every time I looked at the doll's open eyes I thought there was a real little head inside the doll head. That doll stayed facedown with a big book on her head for a LONG time.
A girl in my class believed that I was a undercover ape. In pre school I played that I was a gorilla swinging in the trees and beated my chest while I shouted like Tarzan. I also ate a lot of bananas and other fruit as well as nuts. It was cleared up when she told her mum and she called over to my mother to tell her the news.

I used to put my teddy's in a bin liner at night so that if there was a fire i could just throw then out the window to save them.
I used to believe that all my teddy's had feelings and that if I didn't kiss all of them goodnight then the ones left out would get offended. I drew up a roster of which teddy's got kissed each night for a week so it would be fair.
When me and my three cousins and my sister were small, we made believe that we were actually half birds and half people, like a mix between faries and angels, about 15 cm high. We were stuck in human form temporarily, and after a few years (or when we became old), we would revert back to our original form. We had wings on our backs, and we would fly from tree to tree, across states and countries, learning more and eating food from peoples windows.
Since we had favorite colors, like mine was pink, and for the other cousins, red, green etc, we made believe that our feathers were those colors.
Similarly, we had a parallel belief that we were super-people who ruled over a galaxy of our own, and that although we could not get there for a while (being exiled or kept out by some evil force, we could still create worlds and stars in it by throwing paper pieces out of the balcony or window and saying a few special words. And that would have capes to wear in our favorite colors.
We'd have a hierarchy based on age. And our thrones would be proportionately large. We'd ride through our states and even planets on magical beasts (also depending on our age). The oldest would ride a tiger, the youngest a cat.
It got pretty real, and sometimes I still wish it were true.
When I was young, I used to think that everybody in this world was fake except me. Eevrything is happening just to trick me. That only my life was real! Kinda of like the Trueman Show (Jim Carrey). Ever felt like that?!
I believed that crocheting was remarkably easy. All you did was get somebody to attach the yarn to the knitting needles and then rub them together vigorously and whatever you wanted to crochet would come out of where they were rubbing.
When I was little, I used to think that the stuffed animals that weren't on my bed would get jealous of the ones that were. So I would rotate them so they all got a chance to be on the bed.

when i was a child i beleived that i can earn some money just playing with toys:)
When I first saw Toy Story, I freaked out. When I was very young, I believed that everyones toys and other inanimate objects were all alive.I thought they were just hiding because they didn't like humans. I would try to talk to them for hours to make them like me enough to come alive, but to no avail.
When I was about 8 years old, around 1983 or so when the Smurfs were all the rage, I actually believed Smurfs were real. I even tried to look up the word "smurf" in the dictionary, but to no avail. Oh well. I got over it, though. :)
