when i was ten, a neighbor told me that all cabbage patch dolls had a word written on one of their feet. these words would say things like "cancer" or "death". then, if you bought one of the ones that said something on their foot, it would happen to you! i believed this until i was 13, when i actually had the guts to pick one up and look at its foot..

i used to have a stuffed bunny that i got for easter one year. i always so my mom putting carrots down the garbage disposal in the sink, so i figured it was a bunny hole. one day, i decided that my bunny would want to go in her 'bunny hole' to eat some of the carrots that were stocked up for her. i put her down the disposal, and decided it was too dark in there. then, i flipped on a switch so that she could see better, but it ended up being the switch to turn on the disposal! well, lets just say i dont like bunnies anymore...

Ever since i saw the Truman Show i always wondered if i was being watched all the time. I always made sure that I did things correctly or never ever told a lie because i thought that everyone would know!!

I used to belive that everyone else could read my mind but i couldn't read theirs'. I was very creeped out by this, and so whenever i found myself thinking mean things around someone i would attempt to clear my mind. Crazy, huh?

I used to believe…

wen i was little (scratch that maybe i wasnt quite so little - maybe 12) i used to believe that everyone in the world knew something really huge and inmportant that i didnt know. i felt so paranoid and angry that none of my friends had decided to tell me. i went around for ages eavesdropping on people to see if theyd accidentally mention it in my prescence.

Believe or not, but once in elementary school, the theory came to my mind about that I am in fact just member of group of the caveman fighting day by day with Ice Age, and all I've remembered throughout whole life was just dream, and I afraided that I can suddenly wake up and realize that whole XX century world (and whole world up from Ice Age) was just my dream which I would explain then to the rest of cavemans, and they would consider my as crazy by their ugha-bugha....

my friend once asked her mum for a vibrator when she was about 11. her mum just looked at her shocked, and so my friend thought she didnt know what one was so described it further. turns out-the thing that she was describing was one of those stuffed toys that have a cord which you pull to make it vibrate! embarrassing mix up.

when i was younger, i was CONVINCED that i had a twin sister who went with me everywhere. i always talked to my older brother about this, and one day he "told on me" & told my mom that i was lying about having a twin sister. when she asked me what her name was, i said Bridget. its funny how that became my confirmation name back in 8th grade..

When I was 7 my older brother and sister told me my parents found me in a garbage can and adopted me because they felt bad. I asked my mom, and unfortuntely she agreed. It wasn't until I was about 11 that my mom told me it was just a joke.

I'm adopted and as a way of explaining this to me gently my father told me that him and my mum had picked me off a special baby tree. For years I believed that the parting in my hair was as a result of the stalk which attached me to the tree.

I used to be ashamed of the fact that I saw spots after seeing a bright light. I thought I was the only person to ever experience it.

When I was little, I thought I knew everything about dinosaurs. My parents tried to get me lots of educational books about them, and my uncle, a biologist, knew enough paleontologists to give me spare bones from digs every Christmas, but once my grandparents got me this generic, "dinosaur," action figure. I kept trying to classify it. They played along, insisting it was a Tyrannosaurus Rex because it had sharp teeth, and I countered that it had too many fingers on its front legs for that. This went on for some time with no logical conclusion. I had no conception that a company might make a "dinosaur," that didn't represent an actual species, and thought that the maker of the toy had discovered a new dinosaur and refused to share their evidence with the greater scientific commuinity. I think it eventually turned out to be a representation of Godzilla. I was between 6 and 10 at this time.

i used to believe that my body was actually in the real world, i just couldn't see it. I believed that everything in this world was a figment of my imagination. I thought that i was really in a mental hospital in the real world and scientists were studying me to try to find out about the world i thought i lived in. I used to pick something up (a pencil for example) and wonder whether i'd grabbed the scientist's pen, or some other object, or whether i was just holding air. I used to wonder what they thought of my conversations too... since they could only hear my side of them. And i worried when i went to sleep in case they got bored of me and threw me out...

i was a strange child...

I used to believe I was the ghosts when I played pac-man and that I had to run from the little circle who ate the dots

It isnt my belief anymore...but a sweet story about my youngest son...
H e was 5 yrs old and believed that his "action men" came to life after he went to bed..(my husband and myself used to move them around his room when he was asleep).. then oneday i borrowed some "barbie" clothes from a friend who had girls... needless to say when my son woke in the moring and all his "tough soldiers" were wearing wedding dresses and tutus..sitting in a circles with a teapot and tea cups.. say no more.. we laughed so much....

This one was actually my friend's. About 2 years ago, when my friend was 13, he got silly putty stuck in his hair. He stuck the silly putty in his hair 'cause he thought it would leave and imprint.

I used to think that my toys in my room would come alive when I went somewhere. They would have fun until one of them heard the car coming up the driveway then they would all get back to where theywere.
Sometimes I still think that...
