When I was a little girl, I used to believe that we were all puppets. Whenever I did something wrong I would tell my Mom it wasn't me they made me do it. I don't know where I got this idea, but, I believed it so strongly that I would lay in my bed and try to quickly swat at the air to feel the strings. Silly I know!

I used to believe that everyone around me could go home and watch me on their TVs. Like "the Truman Show," if the actors could watch it themselves. And their behavior might be adjusted according to certain things I did in the privacy of my own home. I thought that girls would be interested in me if I walked around the house naked a lot. I didn't learn until I was about 15 that this was not the case.

i used to get paranoid sometimes that some people could read my mind ( didnt truly belive it), but just to be safe, i'd sorta, make excuses in my own mind after thinking something potentially embarrasing or offensive.

I used to wonder if everything around me was staged and there was really really cameras everywhere and all my friends and parents and all were actors, trying ot put me in weird situations that peple who watched it all on tv would find funny. (this was before reality tv).
i was really surprised when i read about the Truman Show, and then i wondered if *they* pruposely had me find out about that movie, just so that i would start figuring out the truth, which would amuse the tv-watchers.

and then i saw Matrix...

I used to live in Russia before until age 5 and my parents were very anti Russian Communism, so when we were moving to America, I cried and begged my parents to lock all my toys that we were leaving behind in a safe so the Communists wouldn't get them. Once in a while, in America, I would wonder if they were all still in place, or in some government building.

when i was younger i used to believe that i was special, didnt have any special powers but i knew one day i would be someone who would save this world....funny thing is i still believe it

When I was a child I used to believe that all the dolls had real interior parts of the body like heart, blood, brain and so on. Besides I used to believe that the dolls lived only by night. They talked to each other, ate food and danced. When the sun rose they stopped their night live to allow me and my sister to play with them as we wanted.

When I was a child, a friend of mine told me that the dolls could be alive at night. My brother and I had the same room, it was nice for me, because in the middle of the night I used to go to his bed, to feel safe. I was reallu scared of dolls.
One day, mu mother come to me and said: " You are a little woman and can have your own bedroom. "
I think that day was the most terrifying day of my life.

I used to (and still do a little bit) that I was the only person who actually existed. That everyone else was just an illusion in my mind and that my whole exsistence might just be a dream. I could actually be in a coma or something like that. Then the Matrix came out and made it worse.

i used to believe as a child that I was the only human being on the planet and everyone else was either a robot or an alien who were all studying me constantly. This also extended to me believing that when I left a room all the tables and cupboards and suchlike would turn into computers through which the "people" would communicate wih their base what I'd said and done. Needless to say I would often run into a room just after I'd left it to try and surprise them halfway through this changeover, but, alas, I never foiled the darn adults' pesky plan.

My sister used to always tell me to be nice to my stuffed toys because they come to life at night to get me back!!
Used to scare the hell out of me and I still can't stand having stuffed toys 'looking' at me!

I had myself convinced that everyone sees colours differently. Like, just because I see something as the colour orange, maybe to someone else the colour orange looks like what the colour blue looks like to me. Etc etc.

I out-logiced myself as I couldn't figure out what colour is the TRUE colour for being a certain colour. So I decided that the way I see colours is correct becuase the name of the colour sounds nice with the colour that I see.

When I think about it, I still can't reason that out properly, and I'm 18!

One time I overheard my Mom and a neighbour talking about a teacher at our school being a "homosexual". Later I asked her what that meant and she said that he "fell in love with men, not women". I was in love with a boy from my class at the time and having learned a fancy word I kept telling my friends I was a homosexual.

I'm a girl by the way.

When I was a child I used to play Zelda 2 on my Nintendo a lot. I was terribly scared of the "game over" screen with the red-and-black Gannon on it.

For years afterwards I was afraid that Gannon would pop out of my TV screen during the night and capture me.
(I have to admit that I still get the shivers when I hear the "nyuk nyuk nyuk" sound that belonged to that particular game over screen.)

When I was a kid, I was a bit of a tomboy. My lovely brother and father absolutely convinced me that I was born a boy but since my parents already had a son and really wanted a daughter, they had cut off my... genitalia in order to make me a girl. I completely believed that and was really angry at my parents for making me into a girl against my will. :-)

There's always lots of films on TV about children who are adopted but that only come to know the truth about their parents when they're 10-12 years old. So, because of such films, I actually spent my younger years fearing that I might be adopted - and what a shame that would be, because I really liked my "parents"!
I thought that, until I reached the age of 10, I could never be sure that they were my real parents, because they would always lie to me about it. They would think I was too young to understand the situation and that I could be traumatised, and so they wouldn't tell me the truth no matter how hard I asked!

Apparently, I wasn't adopted after all...

I used to believe that if you didn't dry your hand when you washed them you would get warts. I also believed that My dolls were real and that I could talk to them. I believed that everything was real.

When i was in grade 7, as a joke i wanted to see if i could convince one of my friends that i was a Wear Wolf. (i dont know the propor spelling for it, but u get the picture) Anyways, i had her convinced after i told her that when i saw the colour red, it would anger me, and that when i was in my wolf state on full moon nights, i would attack anything that was red... i actually started to believe it too when i heard from a friend's parent, that a red car had hit a wolf that ran away on a full moon night... and i had terrible muscle pains the next day.. lol, so then i stopped talking about it, and my friend and i, never spoke of it again... lol

pick of the bunch

i used to believe that whenever i'd close the closet door, or went to sleep, my toys would talk to each other.

when i was younger, I used to believe that what i saw was different from what everyone else saw, like that i saw humans but someone else saw aliens or clowns or something. i also used to think that people heard thing in their own languages too so if i said hi to the kid who saw aliens he would hear something in the alien language... I was a special kid
