I used to believe that if you spoke to someone in their language they would actually hear it in English.. for instance If you said to a French person "Bonjour, Comment allez vous" They would actually hear you say "hello, how are you".

one day me and my big sister were trying to act all superior to my little sister. we told her "well WE know english and you dont!" my younger sister replied "yeah i do! ludigong lsuivnd ghusd hfhfu ljkdg. see?"

I can't believe how many other people used to associate personalities with numbers! I thought I was the only one!

When I was little I had colourful fridge magnets in the shape of the numbers. I made up all these stories about them.
1 was red. He was a baddie, though not as bad as 9.
6 was pink and 7 was purple. They were married, or girlfriend and boyfriend or something, and 9 was always trying to kill them for some reason. 1 didn't want to kill them but he didn't like them.
8 was a friend of 7 & 6. He would always be helpful, though without actually doing anything.
I also had magnets in the shapes of plus and minus signs etc. The long division sign was always a cliff that 1 or 9 would push 7 and 6 off.

I also always liked even numbers better than odd numbers, because with even numbers everybody has a friend and with odd numbers someone's always left out.
Also 8 is a better number than 6 because, although they are both even, if you halve 6 you get an odd number and if you halve 8 you get an even number.

One time when I was 6 I heard some one say FUCK and I thought they said fug. So at Christmas that year when all my relitives were here they were giving all the atension to my baby brother. They were using baby talk like whose a little baby wabbie. So I went up to my baby brother and said whose a little fuga fuga fuga and every body broke out laughing.

when i was younger, instead of saying 'ladies and gentlemen', i used to say 'ladies and jelleyments'

I knew that 'playing hooky' was to skip school, so I logically drew the conclusion that one who plays hooky is called a hooker. Needless to say that when I exclaimed "Lets go be hookers!" to my friends, laughing ensued.

I was reading a book when I was about 10 and it was about Greek Myths. There was a character in it called Persephone,And I thought it was pronounced Purse-e-phone. I thought it was really funny

When I was at kindergarten age I used to believe that my native language (Bulgarian) was the chief one from all, because expressions from any other language could be translated in my motherly. That was patriotic... :)

i used to believe that the word 'fart' was a swear word. all our family used the word 'pump'. i eventually got embarrassed about using this word at school and began using the naughty 'fart' word. all the family use it now.

When I was really little, about four or five, I used to think that once you got to 100, the next hundred was only ten away. Like, "100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 200" and so on. Finally I counted this way in front of my parents, who made sure to correct my counting skills.

When I was little, I saw my brother giving the finger to this kid across the street. He was standing in our courtyard in front of the house. I asked him what it meant, and he refused to tell me. So I gave the guy the finger,too. My brother was so mad at me and he refused to tell me what it was all about. Then I went inside and asked Mom what it meant and showed her the finger. She asked me where I had learned it. I told her from my brother. Her face became red (from her trying not to laugh), and she said, "that is a very bad word, and you should not say that again".

My cousin used to babysit alot and watch MTV, refering to some of the girls as whores. I thought this was a reference to Frankenstein or something (HORror movies). I was watching a monster movie with my dad one time and called the monster a whore. He almost died laughing.

When I was about 3-4 years old, my dad got a job in USA (we're from Pakistan)and moved there. And after he had been there for about 7-8 months, we were going to US too. So I was really worried that when I met my dad after so long I wouldn't be able to talk to him because he would've forgotten our language by then :)

When I was around 4, I once heard an adult say "Oh, s**t" under his breath. It could have been by dad, but I dunno. I asked him what he said, and he told me he said "yittybit." To this day, I still say "Oh yittybit!" at school when I'm mad.

When I was small I thought that the L,M,N,O,P part of the ABC's really was "Elliot went pee". I have no earthly idea why but that is what I thought until I was singing one day and my mother informed me otherwise.

I once went camping with a family of friends of the family (confusing, ain't it?) and they just so appened to have a three year old daughter. One night she woke me up and alerted me she had to use the bathroom. On the way back to our camp ground, I asked her if she could count for me (that sort of thing makes little kids proud). So she began counting. This is how she counted:

1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... 8... 9... 10... 7... 8... 9... 10... 7... 8... 9... 10... and so on.

She continued to count like this until I don't know when. All I know is that I fell asleep before she stopped and she started to count again when my dad asked her the same question the next morning.

When I was little, we moved a lot. The first move I remember, I was scared. You see, I was sure that Indiana spoke a different language (all the states had thier own as far as I was concerned), and I was terrified that I wouldn't be able to learn Indianain, and I'd forget the language I already knew.
