when i was real young and stupid, i used to think that the only reason people spoke different languages is because they couldn't say all of the english words right.

I used to have a chart of the alphabet on my bedroom wall. I remember, at about the ages of four, spending a substantial amount of time repeating the phonetic sounds of the letters in a vain attempt to find the letter that made the 'ch' sound. Needless to say, I never found it.

When i was about 6 or 7 my brother (older) told me that VD stood for verbal Diarrhea, meaning that any one who spoke al lot and spoke fast ad Verbal diarrhea.
Once, during my aunt's funeral ( She was quite talkative and also spoke very fast) i over heard some of my relatives discussing her death. Eager to but in i remeber vividly saying "Yeah, i think she had VD. don't you ?" my mom was sipping a drink and nearly the entire contents came out through her nose.

I used to believe that priceless and worthless ment the same thing. So whenever we went to someone's house and they would describe the artifact as "priceless", i used to wonder why are they so proud of it?

Whenever I couldn't read a word, I would just make up something in its place. So, whenever I would read to my mom or something, she would chuckle or something at my completely made up word.

When I was in 2nd grade I was spinning the globe and saying the name of the country the my finger landed on. Well, Fate felt like smacking me in the face.
I had heard very few curse words when I was little, so when my finger fell on Niger I said n*gger and everyone said" OOOOhh!" Then I knew I was in trouble.

this isn't a belief, really - just the way it has always been for me ......when I visualize numbers, they are 3-dimensional and have specific colors: 5; is red; 6 is blue; 3 is yellow; 4 is brown; 2 is gray; 8 is pink; 9 is very pale gray and 1 and 10 are white; 11 is also a light gray...............after that color doesn't bear any relation to numbers for me.

When me and my brother were little we sometimes used to pretend we were foreign and speak random gobbledegook to each other - usually in the middle of a shopping centre or other public place. Our mum must have been so embarrassed!

I used to think that the word b**ch was a smell. I remember thinking "Aw man that dish rag smells like b**ch. I still know what the smell was too and sometimes when I get a whiff of it that word still pops into my head.

when I was about 9 I started hearing other kids say "My bad..." for the first time. But I heard it for the first time at the end of recess, when some kid had left his lunchbag and a teacher was going around asking who forgot theirs. So the kid went up and seeing him taking his lunchbag, I thought he said "My bag...." and the next day at shop class I pushed someone's eraser off the table by mistake and said "My bag..." One of my classmates said that it's supposed to be "My bad..." They all laughed.

I once 'almost' swore in gradeschool. I said the word buster, reffering to a classmate but he thought i said 'bastard'. The whole class later started to scold me and threaten to tell the teachers saying i would be expelled. I thought there was some sort of conspiracy after that against me. I've kept my mouth quiet around them ever since although NOW they are the ones who swear about everything.

When I was young I thought each time you said too many bad words, you'd turn into a donkey. However tehre is proof this is in fact false, since I remember in the 4th grade my classmates would curse all day! I wonder why they werent punished

When i was a little girl my mum heard me say a really bad word. She told me that it was ok to say this word even though it wasn't very nice but under no circumstances could i say the word redsocks. So from then on whenever i wanted to swear i said redsocks it wasn't until i was about 18 that my friend asked me why i kept on saying redsocks? i was soooo mad at my mum for making me look stupid
