I used to believe…

When I was little, my sister and my two cousins were waiting for our parents outside a dressing room and I guess my older sister and older cousin wanted to have the couch to theirselves so they told us that there was a monster that lives under the cushion and that they would protect us by sitting on it. lol.

Me and my friends(we were nine) from school use to believe we were witches. And we watched charmed so that gave us ideas. In school there would be little pavement circles, and we use to sit in them, hold hands and say "Let the power of three, set us free."
Now that we are older when ever we end up talking about it we alwayz end up laughing so much that we end up in tears.

I used to believe that if i layed under my doona cover, the monsters could not see me, thus i was safe... I still remeber making sure i was completely covered so that "the bogger man" couldnt find me.

When I was younger I watched this show with my sister about people trying to prove or diprove the exsistance of sertan "Creatures" Only two shows that I can remember, one about a Chupacabra and the Jersy Devil, And the fact that my bed was right next to a closet didn't help, I thought that they would come out and suck my blood and eat my head if they saw me, I, to this day am still afraid of the Chupacabra

When I was younger, about nine (12 right now) I thought that if I was alone and I turned around that when I turned back there would be a witch standing there and it was going to eat me XD

When I was young I never believed in the Tooth Fairy, as I put my teeth under my pillow loads of times and she never came - even though she visited my friends at school. Then I spotted you could get an email from the Tooth Fairy on ebay (!*!) and had it sent my little girl, it was lovely, so now I believe again!! I think my little girl's a little sceptical though..;-)

When I was a kid, I thought that when the flowers moved in the garden (because the wind was blowing) that the faeries were dancing, and the flowers were their bright costumes. But when i got older I realised what happened and i was really upset. But now I've taken that mistake and I've actually written a childrens story about flower faries! But as I'm still 12, I'm waiting until I'm older until maybe I will publish it!!!

Recently an American girl came to our school for a term, and I was best friends with her. She told me and a bunch of friends how to summon Bloody Mary. My friends said 'I'm not doing it - I'll die!' and my friend just carried on, making them even more scared. I said "I'll do it." and so we went to the school bathroom, and I did it. They all ran away screaming...even though nothing had happened. They believed I was possesed for the rest of that year, even after the American girl had gone. This belief has escalated now into them thinking that I'm a ghost buster. We were thriteen and now many of us a fourteen. They're still my friends...they just star every introduction with 'and this girl's a ghost buster...'

I never knew what the empty gas containers were for, but being round and made of metal stilts, I believed they were ghost coliseums. The ghosts, which looked ike traslucent skeletons, would sit on the stilts and watch whatever was in the middle of the 'coliseums'. That is to say, nothing. I knew it must be something awful, so I did not take the risk of imagining wht it might be. No-one ever told me I was wrong, but as I'm now fourteen and no longer believe it, clearly my common sense intervened.

One night, when we were young, we heard a noise that sounded like our dog running down the stairs but when we looked out he looked up at us (in a way that we then thought was nervously) from his basket upstairs. We thought that this noise was a ghost trying to scare us and we hardly slept. The next morning when we woke up we found out that the cause of the noise was a hairbrush that had fallen off a shelf in the bathroom and rattled down the towel rack and onto the radiator. It was such a dissapointment when we found this out - we really wanted a ghost in the house!

Back when I was five or six, my best friend and I were hanging out on the playground. Her older sister was showing off her new yo-yo, and we were immensly jealous. So, we created our own imaginary friends. We each had a chipmunk, and it could turn into a yo-yo!

We had hours of fun playing with them. Then we started creating more and more. Eventually, some other kids asked us what we were doing.

I told them we had 'Invisible Animals'. They wanted some too. So I handed them an egg (invisible, of course), and said that if they held it close to their heart, it would hatch into their own animal!

God, I was a strange child. O.O

I pretty much stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was 7 years old and saw my mum delivering the presents. However, I was so worried about telling my parents or big sisters that I didn't believe in Santa Claus because I thought they'd get really angry and stop getting me presents. I kept up the charade until I was 11 when one of my sisters said "you don't still believe in Santa, do you?". Finally, I was forced to reveal the truth. The response? "Oh, thank goodness we can stop pretending!"

After seeing The Borrowers when I was little, I used to believe all of these little people used to take things from you, then give them back. But I also used to think there were The Stealers witch used to take things without giving them back. So when I lost something, (I always did) and it turned up, I used to say, "Thank you Borrowers!" But when something didn't turn up, I would say, "Its not my fault, The Stealers took it!"

I used to have a friend. His name was "Ramesh Rabbit". He had two rabbit children and a rabbit wife with the same names as us and somehow, did everything we did. The strange part was, that he in no way resembled a rabbit and, with one simple turn, became my father, Ramesh. He was my friend till I was 7 years old and realised that he bore a remarkable resemblance to my own father...

When I was a kid my dad told me that space aliens would come and get bad kids. I don't remember what I did, but I watched for the spaceship. I watched the day go into the night. My brother told me to come in for the night and as I climbed the stairs into my front door, I saw my first shooting star!! I ran into the house apologized to my dad and begged him to give me another chance. He didn't know what I was blathering about and gave me milk and cookies. Neverless, I slept under my covers.

When I was little, one time I heard the sounds of indians outside my room. It was probably a car blasting its radio, however as a young child, it sounded very real. I went under my bed and spent the rest of the night there. I really thought they were attacking our home !!

A truly bizarre fear: I saw the Kirk Douglas movie about Vincent Van Gogh and became convinced that Vince's ghost was searching the world for a replacement ear. I couldn't go to sleep after that without having mine covered.
