There was this very big tree in front of our school. Not only me but all the students (till 3rd grade) in our school used to believe that if we touch it we would turn into Ghosts! Now that was scary and we used to stay as far away from the tree as possible.
I went there after I was quite grown up and believe me I didnt touch the tree even then.

During W W II we kids played out in the street until 8.30pm. Even on the dark winter nights.
When it was time to come in, mother would walk to the front gate and shout. If we were reluctant to go into the house, mum would shout "hurry up, the nine o'clock horses will get you". The mental image of a herd of giant horses gnashing and crashing down the street was enough to get every kid running for their lives into the safety of their beds!

When I was about 4, my brother told me that each time you went to bed, monsters like werewolves, and vampires, would come into your bedroom, and if you had been a bad boy during the day, they would feast on you and make you one of them. What made this worse was that we had a shandalere in the hall way and my parents used to leave it on before i went to bed, so it made all these weird shadows that looked slightly like monsters shadows. So it would take me ages to start feeling sleepy because i was so frightened. I used to put all these things on my bedside table that i thought would protect me. Like a tourch, a wotch, a small cross, a back up tourch, a wotch that i thought was silver (but later i found out was just stain less steel) to defend myself from the werewolves, and some wooden tooth pics to protcet myself from the vampires (i couldnt get wooden stakes, but i tried askin my parents). I would stay up really late, and then my parents would go to bed and swithc the hall light off. At this point I was on the verge of falling asleep, but I could always just about manage to stay awake. I then would turn on the tourch and wait for amonster to come in. Hoping thta I would survive until the next night. I got threw so many batteries, and this made my Dad angry. And i could never understand why my family never looked scared when they went to bed....
I used to have an imaginary lame squirrel called norris who stayed on my shoulder. I carried him around with me and pointed out the sights of where ever we were.

I believed that I was an alien...everytime I heard the sound...weee.....weeee..... in my ears when it was really quiet, I thought they're trying to contact me.
I believed in Santa Claus with my whole heart as a little girl. Then my stepbrother told me that some man shot and killed him. This hurt me so badly that I never tried to make my own daughters believe in Santa Claus or any other of the make believe characters so many adults teach their own children. I determined my girls would not be hurt as I was. At the same time, I would instruct them to never tell the other children there was no Santa Claus.

I had her for about 2 years but then she had to return to the stars forever.....

The blue lady was a big topic among me and my friends the rumor was that she had been a cleaner at the school who had pushed a student into a peg and it had kill him.It was said she haunted the bathrooms that class 6-8 used and it was believed so much through the school that not even the oldest students liked going to the toilets down there which you had to at dinner.
People would go into the toilets turn the lights out and say "Blue lady, blue lady I've got your baby" three times.Me and my friends would do it all the time and my friend got so scared one time because she was sure she saw a pure white girl with blue lips behind her.
