MY MOTHER, TO GET US KIDS TO COME IN WHEN THE SUN WENT DOWN INSTRUCTED US ON THE COACHWHIP SHAKE. IF YOU WERE OUT AFTER DARK THE COACHWHIP SNAKE WOULD GRAB ITS OWN TAIL, ROLL ITSELF INTO A ROUND HOOP, CHASE YOU DOWN. THEN UNCOIL AND WHIP YOU TO DEATH.

When I was little, not only would Santa come by, but so would the reindeer. We always left out carrots and we would always see hoof prints the next morning. So when we were going to get new carpeting for Christmas, I reminded mom and told the clerk that we should wait until after Christmas so the reindeer wouldn't mess up the new carpeting.

When I was little, I believed in Santa (of course). We used to put out milk and cookies and they would be gone in the morning so, naturally, I thought he was real. Until one Christmas Eve when I was nosy snoping for presents for me and I saw a gift to one of my sisters from Santa Claus. My parents tried to tell me Santa came early because he had soo many children to get to.

I used to believe…

When I was kid and my parents told me that Santa Claus wasn't real, well they must have put it something like "we were the ones doing all of that not Santa" so I just assumed that all adults did stuff like that and instead of realised that my parents were also the tooth fairy and the easter bunny, I decided that some other adult was doing those things and so I immediatly "figured out" that my dad's friend "Barry" was the tooth fairy. I proceeded to make a fool of myself by making a huge deal in front of him everytime I lost a tooth.

When I was very small, I was terrifed of vampires coming and attacking me when I was asleep, and the only way to stop them, was to pull the covers up to my eyes, and repeat, 'Go Away, Vampires' in my head, over and over again, until I fell asleep. Obviously, this would result in a forcefiled being put around mine and my family's beds, meaning the vampire would burn his hands if he tried to lift up the covers to bite my neck. Basic science. :)

when i was little i hear about faeries but i wans'int quite sure to know them!
but rumor has it
that if you cut the butter with a knife and
sang this charm >>;come butter come peter stand at the gate
for a buttered cake come butter come"
if you keep saying this you will have a faerie encounter or a faerie sign but you have to be a clean person and always be joyful cheerful and pass a little time outside in nature:)

When I was young my father told me that giants live in fir trees. It scared the living daylights out of me and I would drag my mum back and forth across roads to avoid them. To this day I still look at them sideways.

After I found out that Father Christmas was not real, but before it occured to me that my parents would hide presents, I thought that all the Mums and Dads went to the shops on Christmas Eve to buy all the presents. I used to try and stay awake, not to hear Santa, but to try and hear the car going out. Although this was just my own logic, looking back, it didn't occur to me to be worried that Mum and Dad would leave me alone when they went out.

I used to believe…

When I was little my mom told me that a ring of mushrooms was a fairy ring. And that if I went out in the early morning when the dew was fresh on them, step inside the ring and make a wish it would come true the next morning. Never did work for me. Wonder if it was because the ring was always in the churchyard?

My BFF used to believe that Bert from Sesame Street lived in her closet.

I used to be afraid that "Bloody Mary" would appear in the mirror at midnight. So I would stay up until midnight, staring at the mirror and afraid she would appear, but then I guess I always got tired and fell asleep soon afterwards.

I really like horses in grade 5 so me and a couple of my friends had make belief horse pals I forget my horses names but I had three: a young black spunky horse, a white mother horse and a beige/tan father horse, They went everywhere with me even on long car rides they would run beside the car, then one day they hoped onto a transport and went in the oposite direction as me I was so upset I put up lost poster and put three sticks on my dresser to remind me of my best friends that I lost!

I used to have an imaginary friend called "okey", pronounced like O-Key. I never knew if Okey was a boy or girl but we did everything together and I invited Okey to all my sleepover parties and Okey basically lived at my house..Okey never really left okey was just forgotten

When I was about 3, I was on a cruise ship with my family, when this older man began to show me some magic tricks. The man did that one trick where it looks like you seperate your thumb in half. After I was amazed by what I saw, I begged if I could borrow his now unattatched thumb so I could show my mom, he refused so I got on my hands and knees and pleeded. I've always been VERY gullible

I use to belive that ghost at night would come out and kidnap you and take you to this magical land and there was a fair and you would go on this fun ride and you would die and die and die over and over again.

I used to believe Santa got into the house via the radiator pipes (we had no chimney or fireplace) and I'd always stick my letter there. Then when I found out he didn't exist, I pretended I still did because I thought I'd stop getting presents...

I was so certain of the bloody mary myth that at a sleep over when I was 8 I refused to go in the bathroom w/the other girls to conjure her up. I was afraid she was real, I'd see her, and she would stab me to death.

When I was younger, like most kids, I believed in Santa. My parents were deeply religious though and didn't want us to think of Christmas as being secular so they told us the story of St. Nicholas and now we call him Santa and he wasn't on the north pole but in Heaven and God let him come down every Christmas to bring us toys. I was 7 years old when out found out the truth. I literally had a crisis of faith at the age of 7 and wouldn't believe anything of a religious nature for quite awhile.

I used to think that when all the kids in the world had gone to bed, nasty versions of the BFG would walk around checking that everyone was asleep otherwise they would get eaten. So I used to lie as still as possible at night with my head under the covers making tiny little snoring noises to fool them... it always worked!!

One Easter when I was five my parents stenciled out giant bunny footprints from the sidewalk leading up to my house and to my door where on the dorrmat two big white blotches made it look like he had wiped his feet there, and for the longest time I thought my brother and sister and I were the coolest kids on the block because we were the only house with footprints so the easter bunny only came to visit us!
