when i was little, i believed that there were there were all kinds of monsters. they could take any shape or form. it was usually whatever i was afraid of at the moment. The monsters had many different ways of killing me. for instance,i use to jump off my bed and run to my door because i was afraid of a clown with sharp teeth, or whatever frightening creature i could think of, would slash my ankles and drag me under, tickle me, then rip my stomache open and eat my intestines while i watch in horror. i used to think of the most gruesome ways for them to kill me so i could figure out how to avoid them. for some odd reason, i was afraid of being tickled too. i also used to keep my feet and stuff from going off the end of my bed so the monster wouldn't mess with them untill i woke up, then leap uppon me and rip my face off....or something like that. i also used to keep my closet open because i thought that if a monster was in it, it would actually have to open the door itself to get to me... then i started believing in a really tall guy with long hair that would come out from under your bed, or closet if i left it open at midnight, and stab me in the head with a broken broom. i guess i had a wierd imagination as a kid. i think i watched too many horror movies.

When I was a child I would ever looked down from a balcony, roof or the window higher than 2nd floor, because I always were thinking that there is a ghost waiting for me to push me down on the gournd!!
i used to have an imaginary friend who was a game show host. i claimed that we became friends because i rescued him from a pricker-bush that he was caught in behind my house. also involved in this was another sort-of imaginary "friend" named christina, who wasn't so much a friend as someone to compete with in various events (usually involving who could do things faster, and which i always won), which the game show host would arrange and narrate as if we were on tv.
I hate Santa Claws. I always thought he was some fat leprechaun-like demon who came into your house at night on Christmas eve. I always locked my bedroom door or slept with my parents until i found out through an older friend he didnt exist. I still hate Santa Claws.
I once stole my great grandmother's dentures and hid them under my pillow. If one tooth got me a dollar imagine what a whole mouthful would get!
The next morning I gave her back her dentures and cried because the tooth fairy left a note it said "Don't try to trick me again or I'll take the teeth right out of your mouth!" Then everytime I lost a tooth I left a note saying "It's real!"
I didn't know my grandpa had left that note until I had lost all my baby teeth.
i used to think (when i was 4 - 7 ) that there were these little green men in my brain and my face was a computer screen and i hated the green men so much so some days i would say ( in my mind ) go away and make it be little barbie people in my head insted so there was a big leaving party and wen the barbie's came they werent real they were just big cardbourd cutouts of them it used 2 realy up set mewhen the green men would come back but im over it now and it just makes me laugh !

when i was little i was driving home with my mom and i pointed to the sky and said mom? what's that? (it was one of those bright lights to attract people to a place) my mother told me it was the government searching for u.f.o.'s and making sure we were safe. for years after that everytime i saw the bright lights i'd look up in the sky for the aliens.

If I went to bed with my shirt on backwards, the witches would take me to thier den in the mountains, because they could see I was crazy like them

My grandma used to tell me that if I went to bed with my socks on, a monster would cut off my right foot. It was the same monster that stole socks out of the dryer so we were always short one when we were folding.
I used to believe that ghosts could only be out from midnight to 12:01. I didn't live close enough to a cemetary for ghosts to come and get me in that one minute. Monsters in the heating ducts were a whole nother story though!
i used to believe that every easter morning the easter bunny would come to your house and give you a special treat or show you something really neat. then one easter morning i woke up and my brother and sister told me that the easter bunny came with little baby bunnies and i bawled .

When young, I was susceptible to the Bloody Mary horror legend. The version I knew consisted of going into a room (usually a bathroom), cutting off all sources of light other than a single candle which shone on the mirror, and turning in three circles, calling out to "Bloody Mary" each time.
I never had the guts to try it, and have always been, to put it lightly, nervous about going into pitch black rooms that have mirrors. In my freshman year of college, there was a big mirror that faced the room hung on the dorm door, and it terrified me until I forced myself to sit in front of it and stare at the reflection until I was sure nothing would happen--even so, there was always light coming in the window, so it wasn't pitch black.
I still reach in ahead of myself to turn on the light before entering a very dark room with an exposed mirror, and always step out before turning it out again.

When I got scared at night as a little kid I would pull the sheet over my head to hide from whatever it was that was frightening me. But one night it was so hot I consciously decided that to have protection from evil creatures I only needed to cover 10% of my body. I so completely convinced myself of this that to this day when I read a scary book or see a scary movie I cover myself up to the shins and have full peace of mind.

Whenever I went to my grandparents house when I was young, I was terrified that spoiled turkies would be running around in the hallway, trying to find me and poison me. I believe this fear came from two major factors: my granparents house was always a mess and the kitchen was filled with rotten food, and my grandfather got a kick out of convincing me that everything would poison me. I hated spending the night there, because I thought the greenish-tinted turkies would be waiting at the end of the bed to jump down my throat.

oy... here's one belief that really had me creeped... I used to be in the YMCA after school camp at my old grade school. Every day, there were these high school kids that acted as councilers for the "camp" that brought with them those "Scary Stories to Read in the Dark" books to read to the kids. their favorite to tell was the "Bloody Mary" story, followed by stories of "Friends" or "cousins" that had done the summoning ritual of going into a dark room with a mirror and saying Bloody Mary 3 times, often followed by how thier friends narrowly escaped being killed by her by carving her name into her back three times. I've always been the gullible type, so I believed them, and was scared of the dark as it was. Then, one day, I had to use the bathroom. the head counciler sent the two guys with me to make sure I didn't cause any trouble (camp policy). Once we got there, they shoved me in the bathroom, turned off the lights, pulled the door shut, and started chanting "Bloody Mary". I was scared out of my wits, and finally forced the door open and ran as fast as I could down the hall back to the cafeteria where we stayed. I was deathly afraid to be in any dark room with a mirror for YEARS after that.

i believed that ghosts exist and i get scared when i alone
I was visiting my grandparents over the weekend when I had lost my tooth in a bean burrito. I went to bed with it under my pillow and axiously waited for the arrival of the tooth fairy. When I awoke in the morning i was devastated to discover that there was no money under my pillow. After crying for about 10 minutes my dad called me into my grandparents room and explained,"The tooth fairy left your money under grandma's pillow!", as he handed me a dollar. For the rest of my young life I thought the tooth fairy was stupid enough to confuse a young angelic child with an old fat wrinkly woman.

Between the ages 7 and 10 I had a strange belief that when I went to sleep vicious wolves would walk outside and if you didnt have your window curtains closed and one saw you, they would break through your window and eat you.

When I was four my brother convinced me that all of the little tiny dots of light were people. So I would sit there day after day and stare very closely at the screen so that i could give each of them names and families. I had a whole world for them in the screen. And would sit and talk very closely to each of them every day. This beleif continued untill i was ten. And my dad said if i didnt stop talking to them he'd break the screen and kill them all.

After I discovered the "truth" about Santa Claus, Dad used to tell me that my presents were really hidden under my bed and that if I went to look for them, they would all disappear. I just couldn't stand it so one year I sneaked a look. Of course there were no presents. I thought all my Christmas gifts were gone forever! Dad let me cry for a good half hour before he fessed up and told me the truth. I can't wait to pull this one on my sister's kids...or my neighbor's kids...or random kids I see on the street...
