My parents read the usual nursery rhymes to me. Somehow, when I was 4 or 5, my warped little child brain twisted the one about "Wee Willy Winky" into a horror story. I had an image in my head of a scarred, craggy, evil-eyed dwarf in a nightshirt and cap, with a bloody axe on his shoulder, peeking in the windows at eight o'clock to make sure I was in bed. You'd better believe I was -- with the covers pulled over my head so I wouldn't see him looking in the window of my first-floor bedroom!

ha ha... i used to think that if i don't go to sleep before 12 o'clock, Alians would come and take me away. I always think that Alians are in a space ship that could become invisable and they were outside searching for kids that arn't asleep. The belief was gone when i was 7, it was horrobul!

Every Christmas when I was little my mom would take me to a certain department store because she said only the real Santa went there. While I was on my way up to see Santa the girl would ask my mom my name (making sure that I wouldn't see her asking) so by the time I got to Santa he would say "Hello Carrie." After I was done I told my mom that Santa did know who I was. Because of this I kept the belief that Santa was real up until I was 13, all because he knew my name and didn't have to ask me.

When I was 6-8 years old, my brother told me I had a long lost brother named E-Bob who lived in Canada, and if I ever talked to E-Bob or met him, WW3 would start...
I also thought that Canada the island that is actually Africa...

I used to believe that the boogieman was a big mean guy covered in boogers.
I used to believe in the 'New Year Man' when I was around 5 or 6. He was a tall, dark monster that would come to people's houses at midnight on New Year's Eve and eat whomever was still awake. I vividly remember sobbing and begging my grandparents to please for the love of God to go to sleep early on that December 31st and getting furious when they just laughed at me.
I have never been able to enjoy New Year celebrations.

This is not my belief but somehing I told my sister, Serena, when she was around 3 - 4 years old. She always wanted to go outside and play, even in the rain, so keep her from running out in the middle of a rainstorm I told her that rain awoke the dead. I made it quite an enthralling story. Exlaining that it went into their graves and re-animated them. Needless to say, she didn't go out in the rain for a few years. :P
I used to believe that if you stood by a window for too long at night than a werewolf/vampire/monster would reach through the window and kill you.
I never looked out a window for a long time.
I believed a village of tiny people lived in the dust bunnies on the top of my canopy bed. I was horrified when I came home from school and my mother had washed the canopy.

When i was younger i had,for some reason a very intense fear of the dark. when turning of the light and running into bed fast as i could failed to relieve these fears,i turned to leaving the light on to sleep. this ended very quickly when one night my mother came to my room and said "you know, leaving the light on wont keep away the boogiman, it will only make it to where you can see his face when he comes to eat you." From then untill this very day i sleep in total darkness. because you see. ;-) if i cant see the boogieman, mabey he cant see me either.

When i was about 9 I used to have this little game i played by myself out in the garden where i was the teacher and i taught an imaginary class "ball tricks"
This was basically just bouncing a ball and making up little bouncing routeens whilst running round the garden like a maniac trying to get to my "drill spot".
The problem was that our fences had giant gaps in, and all the neighbours thought i was a retard, shouting at imagiany people and running round like mad bouncing balls!

When I was little I thought the pink Power Ranger was my best friend. If my mom asked me if I wanted soup or something I would say "Make some for Kimberly too!" (i think kimberly was the power ranger's name...not sure lol)
yeah, i know, that is NOT a normal choice for Imaginary Friend, but i was like three!
I used to tell my little brother that if he didn't pull the covers right up to his chin at night, the head hunter would come and chop his head off. We were 4 and 5 at the time. Recently at a family gathering some 20 years later I told this story. He stared at me in disbelief and said "you know I can't sleep at night unless the covers are pulled right up to my chin!" Ahh, my work is done.

i used to belive santa came through the doors of your house. So one christmas i tried locking all the doors but he still got in
I used to think my mom was a witch, because when I misused a toy she would take it, put her hands behind her back, and make it disappear. I lost many toys this way, and even after searching her many times when she did this and not finding my toy, even now that I'm in my teens I still cannot figure out what she did with all those toys.. Maybe someday I'll figure it out!
I had a pretend friend when I was younger called Willtina. She was my excuse for many things. I told my mom that I couldn't sleep at night because Willtina was making too much noise playing on my hangers in the closet.
I also told her quite sadly one time while we were on a trip that Willtina had died. When she expressed her sympathy, I said "Don't worry, mom, there's nine more in the trunk!"
