when I was younger my grandfather would pretend he could make me disappear and all the grown ups would pretend not to see me till he made me appear again. that was very upsetting to me untill we started doing it to my little brother then i was in on it. sorry bro.
I was an only child with not a whole lot of friends, so to entertain myself I played with dolls. I mean really got into it. I even used to tape record myself playing with my cabbage patch kid, changing my voice to let "Violet" talk. When my mom got remarried, my step dad was ready to have me locked up. He was totally convinced that I must've had 2 or 3 other people in my bedroom at all times. It took my mom a long time to convince him it was just me playing with my dolls.

If any of you remember the "Bloody Mary" myth from sleepovers about the woman in the mirror, you know the sheer terror it can inspire in an 8 yr old. One time, my friend told me that bloody mary would come our of my toilet and kill me if i flushed it 10 times in a row. For about a year after that, i woud always stand by the door of the bathroom, reach in and flush the toilet, the run like hell. Somehow it never occured to me that i was only flushing once...
I had a huge oak tree in my yard growing up and it had what looked like a door at the bottom of it (just like keebler elves' door~ a big arch shaped door). It must have been a deformed knot of some kind. Anyway I used to think knomes lived inthere and i could always be seen pressing my ear up to the tree to hear them. i would dare my friends to knock on the little door. No one would.

When I was about nine, my younger cousins and I believed that there were dragons living on our backyard. We made 'dragon food' (mud, rocks, sticks, leaves, and few ladybugs for color) and placed it around all the places we thought the dragons would be hiding. We came out the next morning to look for dragon footprints, and were sure that we saw some.

Between the ages of 4-6, I had an imaiginary friend called Super Bunny. I believed he lived in the giant clouds you saw in the sky, and that all the giatn clouds were sort of different colonies that were all part of 'Bunnyland'. One day we were at our local grocery store, and the logo on the carrots wrapper was a rabbit wearing a red and blue super hero outfit, exactly as I imagined Super Bunny. Seeing this I exclaimed to my mother, "Look! Look! He's real! He's real!"
I went to a slumber party in 2nd grade, where the girls all convinced me that if I slept with my neck exposed, Dracula would come and bite it. (I'm 33 years old and STILL have to sleep with a blanket up to my chin!)

When i was little i used to have an imaginary bird name Bert but my mom was worried and she told me Bert had to migrate to disneyland so he could have fun with his other bird friends. (The rest of my childhood i wanted to go to disneyland to visit Bert)
I (rather oddly) believed that the lightswitch on my grandmother's hallway wall - which was actually the bathroom light switch - was sentient, malevolent, and biding it's time (not quite in those terms, but every kid knows what it's like to just KNOW something is evil). It's switch looked like a beak, and the screws were it's eyes. It chased me through my dreams for months, and I still can't quite figure out why I fixated on the damn thing!

Whe I was about three I used to have an imaginary friend named HaHoo.He was very scary looking and he wasn't very nice to me. He used to live in the basment and I would never want to go down there alone. When I was five my mom asked me where HaHoo was and I said that he moved away to England (my parents are from there), and later when we went to England my brothers were on a bus and as they were driving past, they were looking at a brick wall and saw written in graffiti HaHoo Lives! I can't explain it!
I used to believe that there were two evil people in my house who continually planted bombs to blow up my home. They would peek at me when I took a shower. If I washed in a particular fashion (e.g. shampoo, face, feet, left arm, stomach, shampoo again, etc.) the bomb would be diffused and I would spoil their plan once again. If I thought I did it wrong, I would stay in the shower extra long to redu the process until I got it right. The order would change everyday (except for special days when they would try to fool me and do the same order twice in a row). One of the guys was short, bozoo bald, and chubby, the other was a little dumber and taller and skinnier.
I used to believe there were purple people eaters. My brother told me about them when I was like 4. This terrified me EVERY NIGHT for 2 years, then, I FIGURED OUT A LOOPHOLE. So, one night, as I'm lying in bed, I ask my brother: "Are purple people eaters, purple PEOPLE who EAT people, OR are do they JUST EAT PURPLE PEOPLE?"

When I was about four, we moved to a house that had a laundry chute in the floor of the bathroom, beside the toilet. My mother had placed a johnny-pole, one of those over-the toilet storage cabinets, over the toilet and one of the legs was sitting on the "door" of the chute. At the time, I thought that it was actually the hole where the monster of the house lived, and that my mother was very brave and smart to put the johnny-pole on top of it so he couldn't get out.

When I was five, I thought I saw the easter bunny's hand reaching into my bedroom doorway. He had a skeleton hand.

When i was little, my friend told me the story of 'if you say 'bloody mary' three times in front of the mirror, slime oozes out of it, and a zombie-person(who i pictured was bloody mary, becasue of the name) would come out and attack you. I remember saying in real fast and running out of my bathroom like no other. After awhile, i realized it was a bunch of bologna.
i used to believe, in 3rd grade, that one of the priests at my catholic grade school was a vampire.
his two front canine teeth were very pointy and when he was lecturing i was afraid he would try to kill us so i would plan my escape into the coatroom.

I got told that Beetle Juice lived in my stomach and when he was hungry he would yell and it would sound like a growl. It kept on until I was 6.

when we were younger, my dad told me and my sisters that C.H.U.D.'s (cannabilistic Human Underground Dwellers) lived in the sewer, so we would jump over those sewer grates on the sidewalk so tey wouldn't snatch us.
