I used to believe…

My brother and I used to believe that every man we saw with a long white beard was Santa. We would be in the mall in the middle of the summer, and we'd see a big guy with a beard and we'd be whispering to each other, "That's Santa Claus!" We thought that he would go out to malls and toy stores throughout the year and scout all the new toys before deciding which ones he would bring up to the North Pole to deliver.

my uncle told me that little fairys would come in through you window if your bed was right next to it and hang redheads from stoplights and not let them down and they had to cut their hair.(I had long hair)Needless to say, my bed was never near a window and my hair is short now!!

I lived in Ireland when I was young and my older cousins used to visit from England. One of them told me that the lion statues on the gates to Buckingham Palace came to life during a full moon and ran around England eating people. Imagine my reaction when a few months later my Mum told me we were moving to England - I was so scared and begged her not to send me to my death!

It toke us 5 hours before we decide we would come out of the tree. The Doctor's Office had to call the local Police office to come and get me down. I can remember them Policemen talking to me and Jay Jay it was so funny. Then Jay Jay told me that the Policemen were strangers and since I wasn't allow to tell strangers my name...I wouldn't tell the nice Policemen what my name was....He would say "WHATS YOUR NAME SWEETHEART"? and I would say "JAY JAY SAYS YOUR A STRANGER AND I'M NOT ALLOW TO TELL STRANGERS MY NAME"!! When I was little, I always had to have a nightlight on in my room. My parents thought I was just afraid of the dark, but I always had to correct them. It wasn't the DARK I was scared of, it was the SHAPES that moved in the dark, so I had to sleep with the nightlight on so the shapes would go away when they got near the light.

It wasn't until I was older that I realized with the light OFF, there weren't any shapes at all. I still can't sleep with any light on.

When i was very little i used to believe a monster lived under the floor boards. I would feed the moster left over dinner through the gaps in the floor boards so its a wonder we didn't get rats.

I always used to wounder why Santa always used to use the same wrapping paper to wrap up the presents, as the one left on the side. When i asked my brother this, he told me that Santa wraps up everyone's present in the house and not in his factory as he didnt have enough wrapping paper to go around the world. I believed this but was disappointed that Santa did not use his own wrapping paper as the one left on the size was abit boring for a 5 year old, it was plain gold and borin!

Just as I was starting to disbelieve in Father Christmas my parents got a neighbour to dress up as him and fill the stocking at the end of my bed. He trod on, and smashed, the airfix planes I had layed as a trap and woke me. I was too paralysed with belief and fear to apprehend him and carried on believing for a few years.
