I used to believe…

When I was 5 my brother told me there was a wolf that lived on the moon. After dark if little kids were still outside, it would come out and eat them. I refused to believe the wolf could be that evil. The wolf, Moon Wolfy, soon became my friend and would ride the school bus with me.

i used to think my highschool wasn't haunted but infact my teacher told me that it was built over a Pagan temple where little children were sacrificed.....and i thought they'd come for me one day...but i hyave eluded them so far.....

I used to think Santa was real but my friends in junior school told me he's not real because they don't get presents from Santa (it turns out my friends' parents don't bother lies about Santa, they just give them presents to their face). I told my mum this, and she said that in order to get presents from Santa your parents have to register with Santa who lives in Finland when you are a baby so Santa would come by and drop your presents every year. To convince me this is true, my mum wrote a letter with Finnish spelling mistakes. But of course the truth became more and more obvious when the present from my mum and present from santa have exactly the same wrapping paper. One Christmas I stayed up all night and saw my mum placing a gift next to my bed. I still pretend I don't know Santa is fake so I could still get a tiny bit of excitment when it's the night of 24th of decemeber.

When I was about 4 years old, I would always grab telephones (without dialing) and listen. You know how you hear that voice saying, "Please dial a number..."? I believed that was someone called Mowday (mow as in "meow") and that she was talking to me. I would always grab the reciever of payphones while my mom was using one, and tell her about Mowday when she was finished with her call. I also used the phone at home to talk to Mowday. Next time you hear that voice, remember Mowday ;)

Altho I was skeptical about Santa, each holiday something would happen to assure me that I should continuing believing in him.
1 - Daddy was unemployed for months and we lived off his savings account money, yet Santa delivered more toys for my brother and me that year more than in previous years.

2 - Another year we found his footprints and all his reindeer's footprints in the backyard snow. His prints led to the house and back to his sleigh and the reindeer prints were all lined up as one would expect them to be with one reindeer in front of the next. (They landed in our back yard because there was ice on the roof.

3 - One other year Santa arrived early in our neighborhood - about 5 pm. We were told that he had to start his nightly round extra early that year because there were so many more children to visit than in previous years. Our neighborhood was selected as an early visiting location. We had to stay in our rooms because Santa had to work quickly and did not want us in his way.
My brother and I hid in my bedroom at the end of the hall. We could hear the jingle bells growing closer and closer as Santa came down the street. I heard him come to the front door (since we had no fireplace). He knocked on the door, said Ho, Ho, Ho to my parents who talked to him as he unloaded his bag. Mom was making her comments like "Oh, she's going to love that...... He will have hours of fun playing with that"....
My bro. & I laid on our bellies trying to see through the crack between the bottom of the door and the floor. We could distinctly see Santa's boots with snow sliding off of them. Later when we came out of the bedroom, sure enough, melted snow remained on the carpet right where we had seen the boots standing.

Our parents thanked Santa for coming and he wished them a Merry Christmas. We heard him depart as the bells jingled on down the street.

All the kids we played with who lived on the our street had Santa visit early. We all shared our experiences and no one could have convinced any of us that year that Santa was anyone other then who we believed him to be.

Here was a community effort with assistance from the volunteer firefighters keeping the Christmas spirit alive for at least 10 little friends.

Our mother was known for returning Christmas gifts after Christmas, but never did she return anything that Santa left.

I used to believe that in the forest behind our house there were werewolves. One time me and my best friend went out to the woods (to convince me there were no werewolves), we got 1/4 into the woods, heard a noise to our left, saw a shadow where the noise was! we ran home.
I told my parents what happened. They said it probably was a werewolf. I never went back into the woods. Before we moved, they told me they made up that werewolf stuff just to keep me from the woods because there was something in those woods. Scary Part: they told me that what we saw and heard was probably a murderer hiding in the woods because they saw a man just outside of the woods wanted for murdering.

When I was 9 I thought I was Sabrina the teenage witch's sister. (my names Carina so ya no) I would always get very mad at this one boy because he didn't believe me. I told myself that one day, when I turned 16, I would take over the world alongside my "sister" and we would turn the boy into a talking cat. (like salem)

When I was in Preschool, my teacher would put little green boot prints along the wall leading out the window and said that the Leprechauns had visited us the night before and left us gifts. They were the little chocolate coins wrapped in foil. I, of course believed that teachers weren't allowed to lie so it had to be true. Later that day, I managed to get one of my friends to help me look for leprechauns in all the patches of clover because I wanted more chocolate coins.
