I used to believe…
When I was younger (I can't remember when), every tuesday (I think it was) at night, (or evening, but it was in winter so it was dark at 5.) we had to walk past a shop full of mannequin heads, modelling wigs. I was TERRIFIED! The reason? EVERYONE I went with referred to it as 'The Dead Dolly Shop' and I could hear the capital letters. I pretended like I was fine... "Are we going to pass The Dead Dolly Shop?" "Yes." And I would reply, probably in a weak voice, "Yay..." But I was terrified of the dead dollies! I used to have nightmares...

I thought that the Mexican illegal aliens were aliens from space who were dressed up like Mexicans. Just like what I saw in Men In Black.

i used to think that ghost cars were invisible.
I used to believe that there were ghosts watching me when I slept. I would always stare into the shadows and imagine there was a person standing there. I was completely freaked out by the thought and hid under the covers. I also used to believe that when a relative/pet died they would appear over my head for a final farewell.
I used to believe that a little ant named Sylvia lived inside my body. She was my imaginary friend, I guess...She controlled all of my bodily functions, like running the potty factory! She also went on vacation inside my yellow tri-cycle.

Two stories for you...
Myself and my friend (also neighbour) have known each other many years...years means beliefs which we now laugh about.
On of these included Aliens, it started when he got a telescope out, having a good view from his window of the countryside we proceeded to scan around with the telescope.
On the horizon of this view was a pub (Thorn Tree), although looking at this pub through a telescope offered a whole different view! It seemed as though it was a yellow warning sign (like the 'Danger Electricity' ones you see). A yellow warning sign...without a doubt, ment aliens were present in the pub.
This carried on for a while whilst we 'monitored' the pub though the telescope...we even wrote down when they were at home!
Time passed and we built a map on how to get their, however, this was no ordinary, drawn out map...we were 7 or so, and we had more imagination then that! It was a block, made of lego...when held up to the light of his window, revealed gaps in the legos...the gaps showed roads on how to get there. We prepared a trip to the aliens 'pub'.
Packed a bag with drinks and food...and made the long journey there...however the journey spanned from our house to the end of the road. We never made it to that pub.
Were still great mates and joke about this story often.
Another story was (shorter then the other) when I was about 9 or 10. Lying in bed, unable to sleep. As I enjoyed sleeping with the curtains open (still do, cant cope in the dark...I think too much and cant sleep) and I happened to peek out of my window one night, only to see a low flying plane going at some speed, I thought It was a UFO, I paniced and jumped back into bed where I lay under the sheets shaking and then I finally fell asleep...Ive never spoken of this to anyone.

I used to believe…
For many years i believed that my room was filled with ghosts and they would watch me at night. Every night before going to sleep i would check beneath my bed and in my closet. I would then sleep with the blankets pulled over my head. One night i was even convinced that there was a skeleton standing against the wall and i layed in bed trying to stay as still as possible so he wouldn't kill me until morning when i realized it was just a sweater.
I used to believe that there were ghosts everywhere. My friend and i used to run around for hours spotting ghosts. One day we were convinced that a dent in the blinds on a window in her living room was the result of a ghost snake resting there. We also made friends with a skeleton that lived below her staircase. I was finally convinced that ghosts aren't real.
I used to believe…
At the age of six, I was terrified of werewolves. I used to hide behind the couch whenever the Thriller video played on TV. Instead of falling victim to a werewolf attack, I decided (imagined) that I had a PET werewolf that I would send out each night to terrorize OTHER children.
I used to believe…
When I was little my mom convinced me she had magic powers. When we were in the car and it was raining, she would snap her fingers and it would suddenly stop raining for a few seconds, as she snapped them again it would start. It took me forever to figure out that we were just going under a overpass at the time...

Wen i was 10 years old, a week before Christmas my mom was rapping gifts an di saw the hair ties that i always wanted! and so i pretned that i never seen them so it would be a suprise to everyone that i got them.well on christmas day i opened my gifts from santa and i found the hair ties that my mom was wrapping from santa!!!! i waas soo mad that was the day i figured out santa was not real1 tear tear
I believed that the Easter Bunny was just a regular sized rabbit, and he got into our house the same way Santa Claus did, by going down the chimney. I mean, how else would he get in? My family always locked all our doors at night.
I used to believe…
When I was little I was afraid to sleep alone. My family told me that Santa would not bring me presents unless I was sleeping alone. I asked my brother to please cut the bed in half for just one night so Santa would think I sleep alone.

I, like most kids of the time, was a big believer of the "Bloody Mary" trick. My friend and I finally worked up the courage to do it, and we began chanting the infamous words, "Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary,"
Just then, my mother (who was also named Mary) popped in, wondering what on earth we were doing in the bathroom with a tea candle.
My friend's overactive imagination came up with the story that I was a descendant of Mary Tudor, and therefore, whenever I tried the "Bloody Mary" thing, I would be unharmed!
I pranced around haughtily the next few days, until I was captivated by the Ouija board, and my "great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandmother" finally died.
I used to believe…
You know how when you're little your parents tell you Santa comes at Christmas through the chimney? Well, in my house, I have a wood stove. It's like a big iron thing, and it's a bit like a fireplace, but it closes. And Santa definitely wouldn't be able to fit down my narrow chimney and into my little wood stove and open the little door and come out. So I believed that he came in through the door and I was always upset about that.

I used to believe that there was a monster that rampaged the streets at night and ate little children who weren't in bed by 9 o'clock in the evening.
I used to believe…
When I was little and lost a tooth, I thought that I wouldn't get anything for it unless I wrote a whole letter to the tooth fairy explaining about how it was lost, how long I had used it for, and the general quality of it.
I hated writing those letters, and so one time I just decided not to write one. I was very surprised to find that the tooth fairy didn't mind, and had given me an evern better reward than usual.
I used to believe…
My bedroom was upstairs, and I hated walking up them at night when my parents were in the living room. After a while I figured that since my parents could actually keep monsters away, then I could trick the monsters into thinking my parents were there by saying, "Good night Dad." "Love you too Mom." Over and over till I got to the safety of my room.
