In order to get me inside after dark, my father would tell me that if I didn't come inside, that "Shamu" would get me. I did not know who this Shamu person was, but he sounded big and horrifying. The trick worked every time. As I got a bit older I found out that Shamu was a WHALE at Sea World. Dad's trick died that day.

When I was younger, I read a book called "Tailypo." It was a children's book. In the book the monster's tail was cut off by an older man, so the monster came back and ate the man in his bed. I used to believe that I would wake up and see glowing red eyes right before the creature would eat me.

A few months ago, my little sister, 7, found a lost tooth. She left it under her pillow along with a letter. The next morning, she was delighted to find a coin, and a letter from the tooth fairy. The tooth fairy left her a note saying thankyou for finding the tooth, and in thanks, she recieved a coin.
For weeks afterwards, my little sister went around our house and her friends, looking for teeth. She got a few strange looks from her friends when they asked what she was looking for!

When I was about 4 or 5 my pop used to pretend that he'd stolen my nose and would throw it down the stairs. I would cry my eyes out until he went and got it and put it back on my face!
I used to have an imaginary friend called Casper who lived in my elbow. I used to talk to him, and feed him, because he couldn't pick up the spoon himself.
Apparently, I even told my school teachers about him! None of my friends can remember him, but my mother loves to remind me of him for some reason. she just randomly starts talking abiut him!
I know I'm a bit old for this, but I currently have one. (I have had him since I was five) He never used to talk until recently, when he told me that his name was John. He seems so real, but I'm sure that he's not...or is he? *cue eerie music*

If i wanted him to come to dinner, mom would pull out an extra plate and chair just for him.I took him EVERWHERE!!!!! my friends finally started to grow out of him and told me i was a BABY. One day i walked in the kitchen and my mom asks " Where's Bobby Ema???" I finally told her what i thought had happened. "He went to Disneyland on Vacation."........ He never came back.....I LOVE U BOBBY!!!!

when i was little i never wanted to go to bed. i would always jump out of bed as soon as my parents tucked me in. finally my dad told me that he had had it, and that he was going to have to use magic glue on me that he called "girl glue". he would put the invisible glue on my bed and then put me on top of that. i seriously thought it worked and didn't even try to budge.
i used to believe that at night, when i was doing my bathroom chores, if i didn't hurry and get ready for bed as fast as i could, the big bad wolf would come to the window and try to break in and eat me..
i actually saw him a couple of times..

When I was about 8 or 9 i used to think that if I didn't hide under my covers and count to 10 and be asleep by the time I was finished that these aliens would come marching down my street in rows like an army and would stare at me until I was asleep. It scared the crap out of me. So I would always lay in bed and then when I was just about ready to fall asleep then I would count to ten. I'm 14 now and sometimes I think about when I would do this and say "Boy was I dumb!"
I too use to sleep with my blankets up around my neck so as vampires couldnt come and bit emy neck whilst i slept. This continued till i was 12years old when i went to see bram stoker's dracula at the cinema... ever since then my fears disapeared and i now wish one would come and bite me!!
I was always a loud, monsterous child(especially on road trips). When my mother had to drive in big city traffic, which tends to make her nervous, she would get me to shut up by telling me that all the skyscrapers were homes to sleeping giants and if I was loud, they would wake up and stomp our car for desturbing them. I was terrified and I would sit there and try to hold my breath the whole time.
I had an imaginary friend names "Bigey Little". He lived in my ear and he could change size, from very very tiney to very very large.
When I got older my cousin asked if she could have "Bigey Little" and so one day I had him come out of my ear and go into hers where he's lived happily ever after.

When I was about six, I used to believe that when I got out of bed in the night to go to the bathroom that if I didn't get back to bed as quickly as possible, I would be attacked by monsters hiding in the shadows. I'm 23 now and it's still a big problem when I'm home alone.
