When I was little my dad told me that there was a magic channel on the radio in our cars that when you snapped your fingers would change to the next channel. I was in someone elses car one time carpooling to something and they put the radio on scan and I was like "no way your car is magic too?!?" later I learned that I was just a gullible kid.
I used to have imaginary friends who were ghosts. I could only talk to them in the bathroom. I would talk to them when I was scared. The very fact that I was talking to ghosts made me feel brave, as I was scared of ghosts. It was the best way for me to live with that fear, to befriend what I feared. They would always listened to my worries, and would offer great advice. I now talk to myself.

I used to be scared that a vampire would bite my neck in the night so I put all these cushions and blankets over my neck to protect myself from the vampires.
I happily believed in the Easter bunny until I came downstairs early one morning. My mum was putting the eggs by the door. My feeling was one of mixed delight and fear. My mother? The Easter bunny? Did she have eggs all year round?
For the next few years I looked for eggs around the house each Easter. I also feared my mother around that time. I don't know why the prospect of free chocolate frightened me.
I used to have an imginary cat friend called Banga. I used to come out of school and tell my mum that she was dead. She always replied, "Don't be silly."
I got very annoyed when all my friends got imaginary friends too: I recall my best friend's was called Star. I once hit my friend for insisting that Star existed. I hated the idea that other people could have imaginary friends too.
I started to lose baby teeth right before my fifth birthday, and had lost all of them with in a very short period...anyway, my mom told me that the Tooth Fairy took my teeth to give back to God for babies to have when they were born. In a sense, Tooth Fairy was just a big fan of recycling.

When I was little I used to believe that there was an invisible monster under my bed. Since I was afraid it would eat me, I had to feed it socks, but ONLY left ones. For a a year or two I was stuck with one of each sock...
I used to have an imaginary friend. Her name was Becky. She was my best friend in the whole world, and one afternoon we were playing out front while my father was working on the house. She leaned up against the wall to rest and my father drilled a hole right through her. She dissapeared and I would not speak to my father for three days.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer had a nose that, as you know, glowed bright red. On Christmas Eve, the blinking red light on top of a nearby water tower would miraculously become proof positive that Rudolph - and, therefore, Santa Claus - was in the neighborhood.

The public elementary school I attended was next to a private parochial school. That school's main building hard a large vent pipe coming out of the roof. "Everybody knew" that on St. Patrick's Day, a huge green ghostly hand would appear out of that vent pipe to throw rocks at you.

My little sister, this past Christmas, yanked Santa's beard off in the food court in the middle of the mall, while sitting on his lap. She had used his beard to help her get comfortable on his lap... and it came off in her hand. The "elf" taking the picture just /froze/, unsure of what to do. It was almost closing time, the day BEFORE Christmas Eve, my sister was up well past her bedtime, and Santa's beard was in her hand. Fortuantely, there weren't a lot of little kids around (or many other people for that matter) to hear my four-year-old sister's shrill voice yelling, "SANTA'S NOT REEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAL!" and promptly bursting into tears.
Poor kid was so traumatized, I wrote her a letter the next day, as "Santa", saying that, if she had looked at the mall santa's ears, she would have realized he was one of "my" elves, working for me to find out what children wanted.
Well, it seemed to have worked, she ran into my room at 4 am Christmas morning, shrieking that she had gone downstairs "for a glass of water, Kate, I swear!" and saw Santa's boot tips in the fireplace...

I used to be very fascinated by the weather and sometimes wished I could have a tornado for a best friend.
I was about 10 years old at a sleep over when a few girls did Bloody Mary in the downstairs bathroom. I was so freaked out about it that I didn't use that bathroom the rest of the time I was there, even during the day, and, to this day, I can't look at mirrors at night.

For some very strange reason, I used to think that a huge pink bunny was always behind me. The bunny was person-sized, like someone in an Easter Bunny costume, and I could never see it because it would hop around to avoid me. I believed this for years, until my sister was old enough to talk and I asked her if there was a bunny behind me. I was kind of upset when I learned the truth.
I first learned that Santa didn't exist when I found piles of presents in my upstairs closet, already addressed "From Santa." I was so upset that I showed my little sister and I refused to tell my mom. A few days later, my mom finally told me the truth, but, as the oldest kid, I couldn't tell my sister or my two brothers. So, to fix what I did to my sister, I told her that Santa only had time to give one present to every kid in the world, but he told the parents everything else you wanted so you wouldn't get two of the same thing. She believed it for another 3 years.

When I was little, I would stay the night at my grandparents' quite often, and the door to the attic was in their hallway. If I ever acted up, my grandpa would threaten to go tell Grandma Moses, and she would come out of the attic and cook me in her stew. It worked very well, especially when my grandma would be in another room hitting the ceiling with a broomstick.

when was small, i thought ghosts were everywhere so i would yell in every room, "Hey you ghosts, go away!"
I yelled that in a craft store and everyone in the store as terrified.
The next week, the store closed down. i think it was because of me!!
