When I was at primary school I used to believe that there were fairies living under our portakabin classroom so me and a friend used to crush up acorns and bits of sandwich and leave them in acorn cups underneath the classroom. The next day we would check to see if the fairies had taken the food - they had, so we really believed that when we had all gone home from school the fairies would come out and have a fairy banquet!!
I had to face the door when i went to sleep incase har hars walked past (and came in) they had pointy snout things (look like evil wombles except they thinner). And i had to sleep curled up in a ball incase the witches got my feet if i spread out. And there was a gap between my bed and bedside table i didn't like that either (trolls).
I had these imaginary friends, although i don't remember playing with them or anything. i supose they were more like imaginary observers they used to live in taps and they were called Bass Bass and Dump. I was never really sure what they were exactly kind of a cross between citrous fruit (oranges and lemons that sort of thing) and cutlery. I think i was influenced by hey diddle diddle and this little plastic orange man i had.

this was my little sister who had all these imaginary friends and she named them all by her name, Kate, except they all had different colored hair. So, one day my mom asked her why she had done something bad and her explaination was "I didn't do it, it was Kate with the red hair" it was the topic of discussion for quite a while cause it made my mom laugh.

When I was 4-5 years old, I heard my mom call midnight the "witching hour". I had a sleepover at my friend Jami's house and we were up late. It was 12ish and since we were still up I freaked out and ran into her parents room screaming because I was convinced that witches were coming to get us.

When I was in kindergarten, in the school bathroom the light was a circle with a black dot in the middle. Since people said santa is always watching I thought that it was santa's eye. So I didn't know why the heck an old man would want to watch little kids go to the bathroom, so I stopped using that bathroom

When he was little my brother was sure that a witch came to the kitchen window and somehow touched him on the back even though she was outside and he has inside.
Our dad tried to convince us that a draft from the fanheater touched him (even though he was sitting on the floor facing it). We both still believe it was a scary witch, even though I'm 37 and he's 35.

When my class was in kindergarten, we saw sparkles in the air vents. Our teacher said that these were leprchauns that lived in the furnace so we'd always be looking in the vents and when we would see a sparkle, we'd yell out that we'd seen a leprechaun and the rest of us whould rush over to see the sparkles!

Once when my mother was waking my sister up in the morning, my sister jumped when my mom touched her.
"I'm sorry I scared you," my mom said.
"It wasn't you that scared me, it was all the other people in here," was my sister's half asleep, matter-of-fact reply.
The scary thing was that she was 17 at the time.

As a child, I went to parties all the time and had a large collection of helium ballons. One day, I was channel surfing and saw a show on how there could be life on Mars.
Seeing this, I immediately got a lot of random, lightweight objects* and tied them to my ballons. I ran outside and let the ballons go, knowing that someday they's either reach Mars, or fall miraculously out of sky onto someone's head.
* the things I remember sending are: frozen hot dogs, a soggy feather, my dad's old watch strap, a song in a Ziplock bag, and a 'paper bag of air'

When I was a little girl I used to try to catch the tooth fairy. I believed that if I put an open hand under my pillow (and around my tooth) I would feel her, wake up, and close my hand, thus catching the fairy. Alas, I never did.
I used to believe that in picture books, the people inside were alive...
I had this Snow White one, and everytime I was the evil witch, I'd rip her face off the page.
...I used to wonder why there was a hole on the other side of the page.
