I was petrififed of E.T, and was convinced that he lived in my attic with several witches and was always waiting for me to fall asleep so he could kill me.

I have a phobia of E.T. ever since watching the film when I was 7 years old. I used to believe he was hiding behind the curtains in my bedroom.
AND I'M STILL SCARED OF HIM TODAY!

When i was around 3 or 4, i used to sleep with my older sister sometimes because i was afraid of sleeping by myself. The only problem was at some point in my early years i decided my sister was a vampire and slept with my shoulder tucked up on my neck so that she wouldn't be able to bite me. I later told my mom my fear and she explained to me that if my sister was a vampire, then so was i. I spent the next few weeks checking for fangs. never did find them

When i was about 5 i was at my grandparent's house. My uncles went in to the basement found an old folding cot, fishing gaiter things, rubber gloves, & a hat & put them on it. They brought it upstairs & said it was the "Cot Monster" & it freaked me out!! It's wicked funny know that we look back at it

When I was a tiddler we lived on the second floor of a block of flats.

One day while Mum was chatting to a friend (for much longer than my own attention span could handle) I looked at a door which appeared on one of the external walls and it opened.

Maybe it was some portal to another dimension or maybe I was just daydreaming but some human-sized squirrels walked through and threatened me with their machine guns!

Worse still, I couldn't interrupt Mum's chatting and had to wait until she stopped before I could tell her so I was constantly peeking out the kitchen door to check that the giant squirrels hadn't seen me and wouldn't come to drag me to their home dimension!

To this day I am still nervous around squirrels in case they grow big suddenly...

when i was really little my sister got an old sheet and cut holes for eyes. she came to me and said she was a ghost. this ghost would visit me sometimes and give me nice soft hugs. i was unsure about whether this was really a ghost that looked like a sheet, or my sister....

I share a room with my younger sister. For years she was terrified to get up and go to the bathroom on Christmas Eve night because she was afraid to she would see Santa, who she was scared to death of.

I used to have an imaginary friend named Marcho, he was a little boy that always wore a long sleeved red and white stripped shirt with blue overalls. Marcho and I used to have races and play competative games in my front yard, he would always loose. But he wasnt a sore loser, infact i think that he let me win half the time, but good for him. Hopefully now Marcho is with another little girl racing in the front yard.

When I was young, a few days before my third christmas my parent I wouldn't get any presents because I had been bad. On christmas, I opened my stocking and found a cat inside eating everything. Later I found a box that had been clawed open but before that I was convinced that i had to tell santa i was sorry. I didn't even make it a block before my parents caught me and told me the truth.

our uncle collected money from us and 'planted' it. he told us to water it regularly and we'd have a money tree for ourselves.

I used to believe…

Around Christmas time, I told my best friend that my grandpa sometimes dresses up like Santa Clause (which he did). She convinced me that i was turning into a christmas elf, and I had to go and live up at the North Pole and would never see my family again. Then pointing to my ears, she gasped and said they were already pointy.

I used to believe…

My parents separated when I was 5 and my Mom moved back to PA where her family lived. I was deathly afraid of staying there. I had a dream there when I was like 6 that a blond girl was sitting on a porch step and a mysterious figure floated up and handed her a letter..When the girl opened the letter, she died and immediately turned into a pile of bones. From that night on, I believed it was a witch and she was out to get me and hand me my death-letter. I would keep my bedroom door open and pull all the covers up to my neck, in case the witch came, because in that case, she would think that I was just a head because another witch had come and already gotten the job done.

I was a weird child.

I used to believe that I had an arch nemesis. An opposite of me. His name was Semaj, mine backwards. But I'd never actually seen him because he could transform into ANYTHING, except my next door neighbours 3 on their letterbox. I never found out what happened to him.

A Friend of mine was told that the froth that washes up on the shore from the surf was dead mermaids, he used to believe it too. What a dumbass.

I had this imaginary friend named Calvary. Calvary was a punk/goth even though i was 6, and had never been exposed to that "scene" i saw her as a purple/green haired (depending on her mood) girl, with piercings everywhere. I held her hand everywhere, including to church. Her parents owned a huge famous zoo, and i could go play with their animals anytime i wanted. Then one day she moved to Poland.

I used to believe…

When I was little, I believed that monsters came out when the lights are off and dissapeared when the light turned on. For about a year, I always opened the door a crack, then use a stick to turn on the light before going in!

I told my cousin about Bloddy Mary and she got scared and never went in the bathroom and was always wetting herself
