i'm 11 and i belived in santa until last year when i hung baubles up on my window sill. i tried desperately to stay up, and pretending to be asleep, i secretly watched all of the room behind me in the reflection of one of the baubles on the window. I stared at my stocking for what seemed like hours, and at about 4.00am i spotted mum and dad sneaking into my room and filling my stocking with presents. i no longer belive in santa obviously, but still enjoy getting presents!!!!!

I used to believe that the ghost of Manfred von Richthofen (the Red Baron) haunted my room, namely because my friend and I once got bored and tried to "call a ghost." Naturally, we took it as a sign that Manfred was there whenever something fell in my closet. I used to blame every strange little sound in the night on him, often saying, "Manfred, go back to bed! I'm trying to sleep!"
Once, my older brother and I were home alone, and we kept hearing strange noises--ie, papers crashing in the kitchen--but when we went to investigate, nothing had moved at all. After that, we locked ourselves in his room whenever we were home alone and wouldn't come out until Mom or Dad got back.
Manfred was such a troublemaker. :P

When I was younger I used to write a letter to Santa on Xmas Eve and he would write back. Then one year I recognised the writing - it was my mum's!

When I was in first grade, all my friends made up imaginary friends. I thought everybody had an imaginary friend and they were invisible and only the person whose friend they were could see them. I spent all day in the bathroom crying because I thought God had forgotten to give me an imaginary friend.
I used to believe that monsters were only able to get you if you were in the dark and it was completely quiet. This resulted in me either sleeping with the light on, or caterwauling any song that came into my head all night. My parents had to keep the lights on for weeks because I was terrified if I fell asleep with the lights off, the monsters would get me while I was vulnerable.
I used to have a pretind boyfriend......it was jesse off of full house also known as John Stamos.
I use to kiss my pillow at night and say"oh baby"!!once my mom caught me and that was by bye to jesse.

I used to believe that your reflections were YOU in the mirror world, and at age 17 they could choose to be your reflection or go off and do something else. This also let to the assumption that vampires were people who mistreated their reflections, so the reflections deserted them and made them vampires. Then I thought Dracula was the meanest vampire of them all, since he scared his reflection away and became the most widely-known vampire.

My cousin, Heather told me when I was about 5-7 that there was a boogie-man living in my grandmother's fernace. I asked her "I can't see it, is the boogie-man really in there?" and she'd say "He can see you, but you can't see him." I believed this since age 10.
I am 12 now and even now i still have an imaginary friends! Me and my best friend abbey! ( abbey is a real person) we would go to Abbey's mom's work, she works at an inside school. We would run around the school pretending we had to find out imgaginary friends and take them away from the evil gargoyles! My imaginary friend's naem was Cynthia and she was like 6 years old, and Abbey's name was Hannah she was like 7!
Also, we would pretend they went to school, and go and pick them up from the big in hill in out neighborhood! Though it's been a little while since we've been to school and picked our imaginary friends up, we still pretend that the gargoyles still have them!
Good ol' days! ( wait they still are)

At my dentist's office there used to be this nasty picture of a witch with dark yellow teeth and all sorts of candy around her that was supposed to give you the idea that she was trying to convince you to do the "bad" thing and eat sweets and not take care of your teeth. I was only 4 or 5 so I took it more like you turn into a witch if you eat too much candy and never brush your teeth. It was the scariest picture ever. I still didn't brush my teeth, though. It was just a scary picture.

When I was about 5 or 6, I used to belive that the Borg out of Star Trek were coming to get me, but Captain Picard would always save me from them. One night though, I was sick and I saw the episode where they assimilate Captain Picard, and in my bed that night the turned me into a Borg because the Captain was gone!
(I got saved the next day by Data)

When I was about five years old, my parents took me to a local restaurant where we ran into one of Daddy's friends. He reached over and pulled a piece of bubble gum out of my ear, then a quarter out of my nose. Then, much to my amazement, he toss them into the air, and they disappeared!
I spent I don't know how many hours looking for gum and quarters on and around my body, then tossing random stuff up into the air (whacking into the ceiling) trying to make it disappear.
I'm sure my parents thanked their friend profusely.

In my house, you could open certain doors quickly and other doors elsewhere would close. The same thing would happen when the heat pump came on. Also, if you stepped on the pedals of my piano, some of the keys would ever-so-slightly move on their own.
My best friend and I NEEDED to get his tag-along little brother to leave us alone, so we set everything up carefully, and with a few automatically closing doors and piano keys that moved on their own, Nicky was convinced my house was haunted.
And when we played over at THEIR house? I came over with a ceramic pot and we told Nicky it had the ghost in it.
He never bothered us much.

When I was younger my friend susan and I really believed in faeries. But we were convinced that they didn't have clothes and they were going to be very cold during the winter time. So when it came to Autmn/Fall and the rain was setting in we made some tiny outfits for the faeries. I have to say they were quite well made. We weren't too disappointed when we found that the faeries hadn't taken the clothes the next morning, we just put it down to the fact that they didn't want to touch anything that the humans had touched. How cute were we?!
