As a kid I believed that the mice from the movie "Bernard & Bianca" where my friends and lived in my closet. I secretly brought them food that i placed in my wardrobe. Several years later in my teens I told my mom this and she finaly understood why there had been so much mice my closet.

My grandma told me that midnight was when ghosts and demons come out to take away children that aren't asleep yet. I completely believed her and instead of making me go to sleep it kept me up (for many years) because I was scared of the ghosts and demons.
I used to believe that since we didn't have a chimney, Santa would break the window or front door in the house and get his magical elves an yetis to fix it when he left.

When I was small, I realised that our house didn't have a chimney. I got really worried about this because I didn't know how Santa was going to deliver all our presents, so my Dad made a giant paper mache key and told me that Santa could use his magic to turn it into a real key so he could use the front door to get in.

my little cousin came round my house, my dad had ripped out the fire place to replace it and my cousin asked what happened so i told him a dinosaur came through the house and want to be like Santa, he ran over and looked up the chimney trying to see the dino. when my dad came back in my cousin started screaming that there was a dinosaur

When i was little i had a bunch of little puppies that would follow me all over the place. i had a favorite one that had a blue sweater on. the last memory i have of them is them running behind my parents car while we were going on a long car ride. i don't think i imagined them after that... maybe it was my mind telling me that it was time to leave my imaginary friends behind and be a big girl.

As a child, I never really got the connection between Christmas and Jesus... The only thing I was concerned about was Santa. Even while I was in CCD class in first grade, I still had no clue. All I knew was that somebody important was born on Christmas. There was one day where our teachers told us we were going to watch a movie about the meaning of Christmas.
I went to school the next morning and wrote in my journal "We are going to watch a video about Santa being born!"

When I was around six I had a book of magic tricks that was also a pop-up book that served to carry around little things used for performing the trick (you take them out of little pockets in the pictures in the book). Well, there was one picture that took place in a restaurant or something and there was a dollar sticking out of a character's pocket that was removable. Thinking it was for a trick, I removed it and the tab on the end of it says "Put it back, you thief!" I freaked out and shoved it back in the pocket, thinking the book had really saw me take the dollar and thought I'd been trying to steal! I was afraid to even look at that page for a while.

Ah, the stories I could tell on my superstitions..
But one of my personal favourite beliefs as a kid had to be my fears of ghosts. They literally haunted my childhood.
This is a little long..
I was one of those kids with an overactive imagination and a love of horror films, which quickly proved a bad combination. I was hooked on the films during the day and terrified once the lights went out.
All of this resulted in the eventual belief forming that if I did not have every part of my body covered by the duvet, a ghost could grab me and "drag me away." I was never clear on where I would be dragged; just certain I would be pulled from the safety of my bed into some place of unknown horrors.
"The duvet rule" as I referred to it, was not only necessary when I was in bed. It was also vital if I got up in the night to use the bathroom or get a drink.
So, imagine the fun as, my head covered by a duvet, and my hands clutching the sheets around me, I shuffled down the landing, feeling my way to the bathroom each night. It made quite a sight for my parents, should they wake up.
Also, I was firmly convinced that a ghost lived under my bed. Don't ask me how. But I was convinced an evil spirit waited there for me and it was only a matter of time before we met up. To prevent this, I went to the extremes of keeping a hammer beside my bed.
This belief died a death the night when, my dear older brother, who knew of every one of these fears, decided to hide under my bed after everyone was asleep, for his idea of a joke. He waited there, shook the bed slightly until I woke up, and then slid his hand up and grabbed my ankle.
I was prepared for the moment. I let out a blood-curdling scream, reached out, grabbed my hammer, leant down to my ankle, and firmly battered the hand holding it.
My parents were not pleased with being woken up. I was not pleased with my brother's sense of humor. My brother was not pleased with entering casualty with three broken bones in his hand.
But one good thing came of it all. For some reason, the night completely erased my fear of ghosts. So I guess it wasn't all bad.
My brother, nursing three broken bones, may not have agreed.
I used to believe that the tooth fairy was real. I believed this until my mom told me that your parents take your teeth and leave you money. I found out that the tooth fairy is fake.
i guess i had an imaginary friend. he wasn't very friendly though. i saw him a lot more when i was like three. he never told me his name no matter how many times i asked. he always said 'sir' was fine. he was pretty tall and skinny and always wore a suit. he looked pretty normal except he didn't have a face and when he talked to me, i heard him in my head. we never really played games or anything though. he tought me how to draw and how to play the piano. i remember he never let me touch him. every time i got close he'd vanish but i'd hear him say to me in my head that if i tried that again he'd leave me forever. i would see him a lot in my dreams too. he would always call me by a different name in every dream. once he called my by my father's name in a dream and when i asked him why he called me that, he said to take it as it is. what does that even mean?? i'm fifteen now and i see him less and less. the one thing that bugged me was he had people of his own that he could see and i couldn't. he would talk to them all the time but i couldn't see or hear them. i thought it was a game but he said it was just work. i guess even imaginary people need imaginary friends of their own.

Thanks to the easter bunny and the fact that it's always carrying around easter eggs, up until I was, (I'm very ashamed to admit this), 13 I believed rabbits laid eggs. Also I knew platypuses were the only mammal that laid eggs and that rabbits were infact mammals so I have know idea why I hadn't twigged. It took my dad crying with laughter telling that rabbits didn't lay eggs for me to realise.

When I was in kindergarden I had an imaginary friend named "Noname". I truely believed in him. He would accompany me to school and he even had his own desk. looking back I am surprised and gratefull that everyone went along with it.

When I was 3 or 4 I took a speech test. I had to say the what each of the pictures were. Then I got to a picture and said "tree". The tester asked "what kind of tree?" and the best I could do was "evergreen tree". For another picture I said "man" and when she asked me to be more specific I said "big man". I had never even heard of Christmas or Santa until partway through kindergarten!

When I was 6 and my brother was 4, I told him that if he touched anything that was the color of gray, that this man would come get him in the night, and the only way that the Gray Man wouldn't get him is if he put out an offering, and he believed me. He even walked around with washcloths on his feet so he wouldn't touch the dust, cuz dust is gray.
I used to believe that the background music in movies helped the actors do their stunts (i.e the music from e.t helped Elliot's bike take flight) and that if you copied the song in your head you could do the stunt. However, i tried the trick with my first bike and i didn't work. Bummer.

When i was very, VERY little, i used to believe in magic like wizardry, and stuff like that, so i took a stick off of the tree in my backyard and started to wave it around but sadly nothing happened. So, i just kept that belief until i was 9 years old, at that point i just gave up. But now, i really wish i kept my imagination, that way, i could still do what i love, .....................................................being a kid!!!!!!!!!!
