I used to believe…

When I was just a little girl, and my older sister was a teenager, she had a friend who always dressed in black lace and liked to draw black spirals coming out of the corner of her eyes. This friend told me that she was a witch, and that I could be a witch too if I liked. She said that the first think I had to do to prove to myself that I was really a witch was blow out a candle with my mind - so I spent a very very VERY long time sitting in front of a candle trying to blow it out with my mind. I was very very VERY disapointed when I eventually gave up.

When I was around 7/8 years old my dad told me my grandparents house, where I used to spend a lot of time, was haunted by a man who had hanged himself on the stairs, and that sometimes you would see him dangling from the rafters. This scared the poop out of me of course, and I was then frightened to go upstairs. I told Grandma what Dad had said and she said, "Take no notice of your dad, he's just being silly. There's no ghost. A man never hanged himself here - he actually gassed himself." Hmmm ....

When I was four, I had an imaginary friend. Naturally, it was a purple cow that looked (ironically) like the calf on the milk cartons.

One day, my mother--who was totally unaware of my dealings with THE cow--came and sat down in my room while I was chatting away. I turned around when she said something and was extremely shocked to find that she had sat on my purple cow, and, in effect, had deflated her. You can only imagine how angry I was with my mother.

Things did pan out though. After all, purple cows come back to life, and mine did an hour later.

I USED TO BELIEVE THAT IF YOU KEPT DIGGING YOU WOULD FIND LITTLE PEOPLE. NOW, I THINK IT WAS DUE TO WATCHING A CARTOON CALLED "THE LITTLES". I USED TO DIG DEEP HOLES AND THINK IF I PUT MY FOOT IN IT IT WOULD END UP IN A SWIMMING POOL OF "THE LITTLE PEOPLE".

When I was 3 or 4, we lived in a small flat so when I went to bed I could hear the tv going in the next room.
About half an hour after I went to bed, A medical drama called GP came on tv that my mother watched religiously. I have no idea why, but I truly believed that if I was still awake when GPs theme song began, a ghost would appear in my room and kill me.
I was often still awake so I screwed my eyes tightly shut and pretended to be asleep even though I knew the ghost would know I was faking. I just had to keep my eyes closed and hope for the best.
I believed this until I was about 8 altho When I was 4 we moved to a bigger house, and I couldnt hear the tv anymore, so I stopped being scared.

When I was about 5 or 6 during a slumber party with all my cousins someone told a story about "BLOODY BONES" being in the toilet waiting to get us all! I was terrified to use the toilet at night even when the light was on for years after!

I used to think that monsters could only come out in the dark. So when moving throughout the house when I was little I used to have to run forward and turn on the light ahead before running back and turning the one behind me off. This way I was always moving through the house in light. I never like turning off the one behind because I knew that evil monsters were slowly advancing behind me in the darkness. I was extremely happy when I had every light in the house on, and every dark cupboard was open ... though mum and dad were never too impressed! I wasn't too happy though when a lightbuld was blown!

Thinking about it now, every trip I made back then throughout the house would have been double the distance!

When I was about 5 or 6 I saw the coverage of magazine,on which was a vampire.Since then I started to believe that the vampires really exist, that's why I used to sleep completely coated with the blanket around my neck.

Now I know the vampire from the coverage was only the bad politician and media was just taking the piss of him.Due to this now I don't have any problems with my tonsils:)

I used to believe that January the 5th the three kings that gave presents to Jesus would bring me presents too, if i had been a good girl. If not, they would bring me coal. After seven years, I found out that they were my parents who brought me the presents.

I used to believe when I was a child that little, transparent people really exist and they live between us, but only a few people can see them. One of my friends told me that she can see them and their home is in an old tree in the park where we used to play. One day she gave me an empty bottle and she said that one of these little people is in that. So I have to give him food and drink every day, talk to him and then, maybe one day he shows himself to me. But it never happened...

I used to believe that Peter Pan lived on the moon. So I was sitting in front of my window, waiting for him to pick me to the moon.

I used to believe in the "Christkind"- the Austrian version of Santa Claus- the new born child. It seemed to be an angel which brought the presents to me and then flew away into the sky.

i used to belive in imaginary friends and i had one called chedge. then one day i stop playing with him and he went mean and if i shouted his name down the stairs in the bathroom he would come and kill me and when my big sis shouted at him down the stairs i screamd and hid underneath the covers.

I used to believe that santa existed (stipid I know), and I really wanted to see him, so, somehow, I managed to get to sleep, or just about, with my eyes open.

I was so disappointed I almost cried when I didn't see him, and I still didn't make the connection between the presents and my mum coming in with a bag full of boxes until the next year.

Anyway, my eyes hurt like hell the next morning.

My parents tell me that i used to play with an imaginary friend before my sister was born. My imaginary friend's name was Heeber. When my sister was born, my imaginary friend no longer stopped by to play. My sister's name is Heather. Kinda weird, no?

When I was around 7 years old, I had two imaginary friends, Suzy and Betty. Betty was my best friend, and Suzy was just the snobby girl. One day Betty got mad at me, and started being friends with Suzy. The next day I woke up with an invisible letter on my desk saying:
Dear ******,
Me and Suzy went to the Antarctic because I wanted to see a penguin. We'll come back next summer.
Love,
Betty
But Betty didnt come back. Neither did Suzy. :-(

when I was about 6 me and my sister were digging around in the woods behind my house and we found this big root from some plant. We named it "Mr. Tuber" and talked to him almost every day. In the fall, we left him in a hole in a tree. The next spring, we were dismayed to discover that he had decomposed.

When I was young I had cousins in New Jersey and they would jack with us any chance they got.

I was told that if you go into the bathroom and turn off the lights(pitch black), spin around 3 times while saying "New Jersey devil", then look in the mirror you would see the New Jersey devil.

It's still kinda scary to do
