I used to believe…
A few miles from my parents house, there is a small college. The main building has a tall tower on it, and my little sister and I were convinced that there was a vampire Porky Pig that lived in it. I always pictured him with a short black cape and little fangs.
Whenever I drive past that there, even today, I look up and imagine him up there, flying around inside the tower.

When i was about 6ish 7ish my best friend and I invented two people: "Cowboy" (because we found a plastic cowboy boot in my backyard) and "red long nose", red long nose was the evil one, and cowboy was the good one... or IS the good one... i think we still belive this... ya i do, cowboy helps us out in our day to day lives, if something good happens, cowboy helped you out.

when i was little, on christmas eve i would never want to sleep, so my dad told me i had better or santa would "skip the house." i thought this meant he would stand right in the center hall and skip, really hard so the house would fly up and land sideways! i was so scared.
I had a strange fear that if I closed my eyes in the bathtub, William Shakespeare would come up through the drain and kill me. I knew his name, but I had no idea who he was, so I just naturally assumed he was some sort of bathtub vampire.

When I was in first grade my friends and i really wanted to be friends with the second graders. We believed anything they told us. One day they told us the story of Bloody Mary, the bloody ghost that lived in the mirror. If you stood all alone in the dark in front of a mirror and said "Bloody Mary" three times she'd come out of the mirror and take you with her. The second graders told us that one of their friends had been taken and the only way she would come back is if we (the first graders) rubbed mud on this one particular tree every day at recess. We figured this probably wasn't true, but did it anyways every day for a month just because the second graders would talk to us while we worked. oh gullible us!

when i was younger, a friend of mine told a horror story of a doll that came alive and killed people with her huge abnormal purple finger. so for a while after that, i used to believe that my porcelian cabbage patch doll that my grandmother made me was that same doll in the horror story, so at night i would sleep with the covers over my head so she wouldn't see me and kill me.

For the first tooth I ever lost, I recieved a dollar bill coated in glitter. I can still remember the scowl on the clerk's face directed at my mother after I handed it to her and announced it was from the tooth fairy. It took several minutes for her to agree to accept the thing.

My Grandmother always seemed to arrive just before each of my five siblings were born. She explained that she was there to help the Baby Fairy. She had told me that the Baby Fairy, lived in my mother's flower garden, under the Baby's Breath, and when the garden was really in full spring and there was lots of Baby's Breath, then another Baby would arrive. I was so irritated by this that every night after supper, I would go out and pull all the Baby's Breath I could out of the ground and stomp on it. My Grandmother finally caught me doing this, and asked why I was stompping my mother's beautiful flowers. I remarked, I think five brothers and sister are quiet enough.

I used to believe at Christmas time that the red lights from radio towers were actually Rudolph's nose blinking to show Santa the way to my house.

When I was younger, about 6 or 7, my "imaginary siblings" were a whole plethora of cartoon characters, and I talked to them and everything, I really seemed to believe that they were real...
I found nothing unusual about the Stay Puft Marshmallow man in Ghostbusters. Being a kid I accepted everything, no matter how strange, as making perfect sense, so I just assumed it was common knowledge that ghosts were made of marshmallows and I just hadn't been told that yet.

when i was younger, my parents would make it look like the easter bunny had actually been there, they had put a foot print on the floor of a rabbit foot in mud and had a dish out where a carrot had been with dirty paw marks in it. i was certain that i had proof that it was real!

When I was a little girl I loved ham sandwiches. My Mama would buy "DAK" brand ham and it had a little picture of a viking on the package. I thought that he was the devil (what with the horns and all) and I was always scared that when we planted flowers in the garden that I might see one of those tips of his horns showing up through the dirt. I was worried that he'd be released from hell and it would all be my fault!

When I was five, my mom would always tell my brother and I that if we weren't good for the babysitter, a Boogie Man would get us. She said it stayed in the walls and watched us.
One night I was bad at the babysitters, I bit my brother. She told me I was a really naughty girl.
As I slept that night, I woke up and saw a Green Head poking out of the wall. (I didn't realize It was just part of a bad dream).
I asked all the kids in Kindergarten if they had ever seen the Boogie Monster.
They all said NO. So for another five years I was convinced I was the worlds most rotten kid. I wouldn't do anything wrong. I wanted to be a good kid, so the Boogie Man would not come back.
Imagine the horror when I heard my mother tell my brother there was no such thing. That it was made up to scare kids.
To this day my mother does not know what she did to me, with her little boogie man story.

When my sister was about 7 she used to have an imaginary friend. She used to take her everywhere and she was most upset when one day while visiting our grandparents, my nan sat on her and killed her! She still won't sit in that chair to this day and that incident happened 13 years ago!

When I was little, my brother once told me that eating the crust on your bread would make Santa Claus turn brown.
Although I no longer believe in Santa Claus, I still don't eat the crust on my bread.

When I was 5, we had a toilet in the basement, where my friend Wolfie lived. We would have long conversations. We moved away and Wolfie could no longer visit because we didn't have a basement toilet.

It's my sisters really, but when she was younger, her imaginary friends were Oliver and 'The artful dodger' from oliver twist. She was forever singing the songs and one time we my dad drove off and 'left them' at Wimbledon common. My sister screamed and screamed till my dad had to turn round and get them, a wasted journey of almost two hours!
