I would get down on my hands and knees and spin around as fast as I could. I thought I was going so fast, I would look like a blur. I would keep asking my parents if they could still see me.

I was always scared of hanging my feet out of the side of my bed at nightime as a kid, thought the monster thet lived under the bed would grab them.....!

As a small kid I was told once by my grand father that 'Troll's' lived under small foot bridges and from then on I was scared to death every time I had to walk over a foot bridge.

I used to believe that when you flushed the loo, witches would appear to float out from it. Thinking this, I used to flush the toilet and run for my life!

We used to see Father Christmas at Bentalls Department Store in Kingston, I was reassured as they had lots of big vans so that he could deliver to absolutely everyone on Christmas eve!
It was years before I found that they also ran a removal and storage business.
I used to really worry when Christmas came around that I hadn't been good enough that year and he wouldn't bring me any gifts. I eventually figured out that his standards for good weren't that high. :)
I believed if I went out alone after dark, the bogieman would come out of the bushes in front of our house and stuff me in a sack and beat the sack with a big stick. My older brother told me this.

when i was in fourth grade a few friends and I wanted to contact ghosts....having seen The Shining and Amityville Horror 3-D we were convinced that contact had everything to do with place...So, we decided the safest place to contact a ghost would be at the foot of the altar at our Catholic School's church...four of us one afternoon sat in a circle holding hands calling to a dead person below the altar...ten minutes into it we were busted by the old widow who took care of the church
I had a beautiful little pillow with a pocket on the front and a note to the tooth fairy that I loved, but it always ended up under my moms pillow becuase I was adamant the tooth fairy would crawl in my ear and pull my brains out instead of taking my tooth. i still get queasy at the thought of it today.

For a large proportion of my life I believed that the easter bunny was 8 feet tall, wore blue overalls, a yellow teeshirt and huge red sneakers that would squash me if i got out of bed. Many an easter I swore he was watching me through my window and would spend all of easter eve terrified.... until the chocolate was there in the morning. Isn't it funny how sugar can fix even the scariest moments!!

you know how you stare at an object, let's say its blue, and then you look at a wall, maybe its an orange wall? and you can see the remnants of that blue object - because of the colour spectrum, optical trickiness? yeah well, i used to think that those optical illusions were fairies and they were naughty fairies because they would only show themselves to me - no-one else could see them. so everyone thought i was a little tweety in the head.
I didn't believe in Santa, but I knew that vampires were 100% real.
I thought that as long as the cotton sheet covered all of my neck, it would protect me as sure as steel. I worked it out along with that whole invitation mythology. A vampire couldn't come into your house unless you invited them. Well, I figured that my sisters were pretty thick-headed and might unwittingly invite Dracula in without knowing it, but as long as my neck was covered, I was UN-inviting him to bite me.
I also told my little sister, after watching Salem's Lot on TV, that if she was ever turned into a vamp, I would NOT open the window and let her in.
I think that little speech gave her nightmares for weeks.

When I was 10, I watched a travel channel special about exorcism, and it completley freaked me out,
It still does to this very day.My mother is a minister and in the special, A minister was performing an exorcism ritual
thingie, to get rid of a ghost/spirit that was in a cemetary in Scotland that was hurting people.
The day after he performed the ritual, he died. I never let my mom near a cemetary again.
I used to believe that since ghosts were bad they ate everything kids hated like medicine and vegetables. I used to leave the ghosts I thought lived on my back stairs food I hated. Now I realize it was mostly that cats that ate the food especially since I put catfood there alot.

My sisters and I never believed in Santa Claus because when I was around seven, our father said that Santa was in the freezer with the Easter Bunny. We never could find them though.
I used to have an imaginary friend named Laura who hailed from the 1800's. I spent most afternoons after school showing her the modern world and especially how to ride a bicycle! She never did master that!

When my brother was about 7 he lost a tooth, and was so proud of himself. He couldnt wait to go to bed that night, so he could get money in exchange for his donation. I was the only he told.... and I, being the meaner older sister that I am, I devised a plan. Once he went to bed, I quickly scribbled a note, and slipped it under his pillow, and went to bed myself. Because we shared the same room, I woke to find him sobbing like a big baby........"Whats wrong?" I asked. He sniffed, "The tooth-fairy wrote me a note, she said she didnt want my tooth because it was too yellow!! She didnt even leave me any money either!!"......
hehehe...
The crying only lasted for a few minutes, but it scarred him for life.
He has no chance of forgetting, because I tell just about everyone I know. Thats a sister's right of course!

My grandad used to take me to the New Forest and tell me Fairies left money in the leaves on the ground and sure enough there was! To this day I don't know if it was all a big trick, although he was quite sly
