When I was little I used dread the snow becausei used to believe in the Abominable Snowman----not the yeti----no, I believed it was actually a snowman that came to life when no-one was looking and crawl through your bedroom window at night and take you away. I think it was my older brother who put me up to this one--yeah come to think of it he was the same person who made me believe that Cystal Palace played their home games at Buckingham Palace.

When I was about six I was helping my mum change her bed and found what I realised much later was a sanitary towel (clean of course!). My mum (either from embarrassment or a twisted sense of humour) told me it was a magic carpet that the tooth fairy had flown in on the previous night, as i'd lost a tooth the day before). After pondering this for a few days I asked why she'd left her carpet and how she managed to fly out again. "Magic" was my mum's less imaginative reply! For years I believed that this was true, and only realised what I'd found when I was a teenager.

I used to have an imaginary friend named Mr. Nobody. He would protect me from my imaginary enemy, Bad Elmer.

A group of my colleagues at work were discussing vampires and various other mythical creatures when Jennny, one of the more senior managers interrupted;
"You can't be killed by Vampires as if you are born on a Saturday". To this comment there was complete silence until Danny asked; "So who told you that Jenny?" to which Jenny replied; "My Mum" and then Danny asked the killer question; "And on what day were you born Jenny?" and the penny finally dropped!!!

When I was 3 or 4, at night time the unusual blurring pattern of our bathroom window would make any outside lights take on a fuzzy diamond shape. I was certain these diamonds outside were UFO's.

the tooth fairy. my mum used to tell me that the tooth fairy would go around collecting teeth from children to build a big "tooth castle" in the sky for all the faries to live in. and the reason you got more money for a big tooth was their was of saying "thank you" for helping them to build and finish their castle quicker.

The babysitter used to take us out for "fairy hunts" in the woods behind the house. After two hunts without seeing any fairies, I stayed in the house, believing I was a jinx and the fairies wouldn't come out if I was there. Sure enough, next time I stayed behind, and they came back grinning, with fantastic stories about the fairies I had missed that day. Dang! ;-)
i believed that every tiem i went down downstairs at night, that a big scary clown came from behind me :( and chased me down. i never looked back to see it. oh, and another time i thought i saw a ghost with a golf club. but it was a dressing gown :(
I always knew that the whole Santa thing was a bit far fetched, yet had no problem at all believing that the local Lions Club bought presents for all the kids in town and let themselves into our house without my Dad minding too much to put presents I'd never told anyone I wanted except my Mum.
I'm still not sure what the lions club do exactly, except collect money on the street, put on a fireworks display each year, and of course buy all the kids presents!!
I used to believe in magic, and one year I wanted a magic set.
On Christmas Eve I dreamed of all the things I would do to people at school.
I was so upset to find out that magic is completely fake - I'm still amazed by magic though!

When I was younger, I bought one of those pocket money magic tricks, you know, the cup and ball one. Believeing it to be truly magic, I poped the ball into the cup and tried in vain to make it vanish. I used all sorts of 'magic' words, but each time I removed the lid, it was still there. :o( It wasn't until I notice the half ball, played a major role in making it 'vanish'. Magic would never be the same again for me.

due to my mams friends son letting me watch this video i used to believe there was a monster that would sneak into your bedroom at night and eat your toes. So i used to curl my toes upi so he would think he had already eaten them and go away.
I used to believe that my grand father was a magician and that he could make me vanish!! I could walk all round the house with no-one seeing me. It never occurred to me that all of the other adults were in on the gag and just pretended that they couldn't see me. i really believed that he had actually made me disappear!

When I was about 4 years old, Santa delivered a Dolls House to me for christmas. The livingroom in the dolls house had carpet which matched our livingroom carpet exactly. And the Dolls House kitchen had lino on the floor which matched our kitchen floor exactly. I was SO impressed that Santa knew so much that he could make a house just like ours. Of course I found out years later that my mother had helped him out!!

Since my name is Wendy, I was enchanted with the movie Peter Pan. I imagined I had my very own Peter Pan who I had lots of adventures with every day.
My mom loves to tell this story:
My cousin, who copied everything I did was in the shopping cart with me while my mother was standing in line at the (very crowded) grocery store. Apparently we were playing with our imaginary Peter Pan friends because I suddenly looked at my cousin and announced in a loud voice, "My Peter is green, what color is yours?"
I used to beilieve that if you look at the mirror at night: you will see that there is something wrong with your face, either it is all in blood, or your eyes are shining with red, or your teeth are really long. and if you still look at yourslef in the mirror at night and don't see anything wrong with you, than you can be sure that vampire(I still don't know why it is vampire and not any other creepy creature)will come and get you. I am still kind of terrified of looking in the mirror at night. I always get the feeling that somebody is watching me.
I also used to believe that if you come to the bathrooms' mirror at night with a candle lit up, and call "Bloody Mary" 3 times than she will come and hang you. I tried to do that once, but I got so scared so I ran away from the bathroom and I couldn't even cry.
I used to believe that if you look in the mirror (your favorite one) long enough than you will see your future, but since you already saw it, it will change and it will be bad, because you tryied to cheat it.
Well, I still think that there is something wrong with the mirrors, even though they are totally scientifically explained.

Up till I was 10, I used to think that the shadow of the tree next to my bedroom window, at night, was a big bat watching me. I always tried to look in the daylight for it's hideout. Needless to say I never found it.
