When I was a child my best friend Wendy was jewish. I am catholic. I heard that some people didn't like jewish people and was told by my parents that people who didn't like jewish people because they were jewish are bad people and I shouldn't associate with them. When I found out that Santa didn't give gifts to jewish children, I went to see him, all dressed up, and told him he was BAD and that my parents said I was no longer allowed to associate with him.

My Parents were friends with a couple who owned a Pub in the country. In order to keep me on my best behaviour when we went to visit, I was told the the Man who owned the pub turned into the incredible Hulk when he was angry. I couldn't take that chance as I was so terrified of the Hulk at the time, so I behaved like a little angel.

When the movie "Candyman" came out, a scary horror movie about a man with a hook called form the dead to kill people, he was called through a mirror in a dark room, Just like 'Bloody Mary'. After seeing that movie, I was afraid to look into a mirror in a dark room. To this day I find myself avoiding my own reflection in darkness.

When I was in kindergarten, a friend told me about Bloody Mary but she said you had to be wearing socks. I asked her why the socks? She said so you would slip if you tried to run away. To this day, I can't wear socks in the bathroom at night after dark.

My parents have two ventriloquist dolls, Charlie Mc Carthy and Howdy Doody, which they keep in their guest bedroom. One of my favorite shows used to be the "Twilight Zone". Now whenever I visit my parents house for the weekend, I have to take those dolls out of the guest room before I will sleep in there. I keep thinking that the dolls will start talking on their own or something weird like that. My son won't sleep in there with them either.

My little girl is 4 years old and we have just written a letter to Mrs & Mr Santa Claus, lol, she believes in Mrs Santa more so for some reason, its magical to see the wonder in her eyes, (I stopped believing many many years ago), but this brings it all back and now I wait to hear the bells and the jingling once again, its fantastic. Merry Christmas to you all xx

When i was about 4 and my sister was 3, we refused to go to bed on Christmas Eve. So, on this paticular Christmas Eve, My sister and I were in our room and our mother was trying to put us to bed. She said that if we were awake, Santa wouldn't come. At that moment, we heard bells and footsteps on the roof. She told us that Santa stopped by to check on us and he would only come back when we fell asleep. We did right away. Little did we know that our father had climbed to the roof to trick us into going to sleep.

When I was little, I belived that Santa would bring me presents. I belived this up until grade five because that year we were low on money and I was sure there was no way we would have christmas. However, when I went upstairs chirstmas morning, I found enough presents for myself and my whole family. I couldn't belive that the stockings were full and the tree had more than one present for each of us. I belived for another six months because of that. Then my parents told me that they had set money aside all year in order to have some for christmas.
I still prefer my version where Santa saved the day.

When I was little I never got traditional Easter baskets from my parents. I told my friend that there was no such thing as the Easter Bunny because of this -- and she told me that I was wrong, and that he'd probably just hidden my Easter basket. I checked in my closet and under my bed and never found an Easter basket... but for some reason I still believed her, and always imagined these elusive piles of Easter baskets hidden somewhere in my house.
I used to believe that if you went into a dark bathroom, looked into the mirror and said Mary Worth 3 times you would see her face, and after you turned the lights on and you looked into the mirror again your face would be all scratched and bloody. To this day I'm still scared of dark bathrooms.
i used to believe there were witches in the attics in my bedroom and they would kill me if i ever went in them. so when the attic door would make a noise i thought they were seeing if i was in the room
