I used to believe…

We all believed in guardian angels and so my dad told us to name them. I named mine Danny (after a boy I liked) and my sister named hers Peanut Butter. We thought they would do things for us like be an alarm clock in the morning or find parking spots for us. My dad still believes it works.

I had bad dreams about monsters coming up to my window and shriking at me, trying to get in. I was always looking out my window before bed just to make sure, and some times I was just trying to scare myself into thining the monsters were coming and that I should hide under my bed that way they'll noticed I'm not home and they'll go scare some one else.

when i was younger, i had an imaginary friend, liam i called him, we used to go everywhere together, till one day, we climbed the tree in my back garden, it was all going well, he told me not to worry about anything and that if i got into trouble i would be ok. but that wasnt the case, when i was near the top of the tree my foot slipped and i fell down hard, hitting the back of my head on the concrete slabs, i was rushed to hospital right away, i split the back of my head open, and now i have a phobia of any thing that is higher than me,i also cant bare to walk past trees, because of my "imaginary" friend.

Around the Summer campfire the counselors told us that an "animal/man" was loose in the woods.
Shortly after we fell asleep on the night we slept under the stars, from back in the woods I could hear the "animal/man" screaming,
"I want one kid, just one kid".
The counselors ran to protect us and even started wrestling in the shadows with what truly looked like an "animal/man." They chased it away from our campsite and assured us we would be ok the rest of the night.

Later that night I was awaken by a "growling sound". I was paralyzied with fear knowing that the "animal man" was just a few feet away. I took what seemed like an eternity to realize that the kid next to me was just snoring.

When I returned next summer to the camp I found out that "Animal/man was a camp counselor in a wolf-suit.

When I was very young, I used to think that two small white Japanese women statuettes, perched on a shelf in my parents' bedroom, could come to life and be dangerous. I referred to them as the "Achoo Statues." (don't know why)

When I was little, I used to believe in Santa Claus. Every christmas, I usually go to the kitchen to see if the cookies and milk was gone. My parents always leave them on the table the day before Christmas, so they told me that Santa Claus will come to eat them and I believed them. When I woke up at Christmas Day, I went to the kitchen to find the cookies and milk gone.

I used to watch Unsolved Mysteries as a child and I was intrigued by the alien segments of the show. One day they showed a picture of a huge UFO terrorizing people and then a lady popped up and said that she saw aleins banging on her backyard glass sliding door. I was so scared I would keep looking behind me at our sliding glass door just to be sure. It was so dark outside that I would be to afraid to get up just to check.

My dad used to play this invisible ball trick on me. One day I accually felt the ball in my hand and I started to play with it. But soon I lost it and for years I would ask my dad to goto the store and buy me a new one.

I had two imagniary friends. Carol and Jacko. Jacko looked like the Fonz (from the TV show Happy Days) and was my best friend. He hung around for a while then one day he broke his arm and died.

Carol had split personality disorder. There was "good" Carol and "bad" Carol. Bad Carol made me cut ALL my hair off when I was about 4. I looked like a little boy...was my dad HOT!
I remember crying and telling my mom that "bad Carol made me do it!!"

I believed Mighty Mouse was real and played with me and my friends. Once when one of my friends suggested we should pretend to play with Mighty Mouse again, I said, "It's not pretend!"

When I was young (6? 7, maybe?), my friends and I were convinced that spirits (good and bad) could become trapped within the grain of wood in furniture and paneling. I truly believed that an evil spirit named Willy resided in the dimly lit back corner of the wood-paneled dining room in my house. I would have nightmares about Willy coming out of the woodwork (literally), grabbing me in my bed, and then trying to drag me into the dining room and into the wall with him. The dining room was safe in the daytime (thanks to the two large windows that brightened it up significantly) or even at night as long as an adult was there, but I was probably 12 before I could bring myself to go into the dining room by myself after dark, even if the overhead light was on in the room.

In reference to my earlier post, at age 15 I convinced our camping nieghbor's small grandchild, Kevin, that fairies flew up from the water and captured the fireworks sparks, after Kevin voiced his concern to me that the sparks would hurt the fish in the lake, and that was why the sparks always went out before they got too close to the water. I told him the process was that the fairies had little bags made of seaweed, and they would catch the sparks and then bring the sparks down into the mud to bury them. The sparks kept the fish warm in winter.

I had a friend who had a realy big garden (Well it was big to me at that time). We would always go out to the garden to pick strawberries but there was a hole in the ground next to the strawberries covered with wood. We used to believe there was a wolf there that was mad. We thought that it was mad because it didn't have any friends.

When I was a little girl I used to believe that fairies and Goddesses lived in Teledo Bend Lake, where I would often camp at with my grandparents. I'd spend hours sitting under cypress trees near the shore, making little shrines of out white clam shell (dumped nearby for keeping water back from the yard) sticks, and pieces of bark and water weeds. While I don't think there's little fairies in the water now, I've grown up to be Wiccan, and I still respect the energy of the lake. <|:D

Starting when I was about 5 until I was about 10, I was the instructor at an imaginary boarding school for girls. I used to teach them how to bathe and shampoo as well as how to be a model in TV commercials. I guess that entertained me thru the mundane everyday stuff. I'm now 32 and I'm still bored with mundane everyday stuff, but I don't have an imaginary boarding school for girls.

When I was young, I used to believe that if I slept will ALL my stuffed animals on the bed with me (and I had a lot!) that no monster would be able to get me because they would just think I was another stuffed animal.

Also, a little later on, when I was old enough to stay home alone while mom and dad went out, I thought if I tured on every light in the house, that would keep anything from getting me!
