Charlotte-Rose's dad (see below) must have been quite picky, carving up the 'reindeer' carrots with a vegie peeler. As far as I know, my parents actually chewed on them!

They also used to write thankyou notes from Santa, for all the nice food and drink. As I got older, I wondered why the handwriting looked a lot like my dad's.

When I was six, my parents decided it was time to tell me the truth about The Easter Bunny. They said my father was the Easter Bunny, and I took it literally.
I went around for almost a week asking how he could get around the whole world in one night.

my sister is still convincedeven at her age 8 that there is such thing as a boogie monter and i told her but she does not believe me

i used to believe that small spirit people (i didn't consider them fairies but it's the closest catagory) were following me around and were only visible in my peripheral vision. as soon as i'd focus on them they'd disappear. they were not evil but rather more curious and watchful of my activities. i wasn't afraid of them and would consider noticing them a good sign that i was doing something interesting to others. i stopped noticing them at about 10 or 11yrs old.

I used to believe…

When I was little, Rudolph used to fly around my house on Christmas Eve. Someone would be like "Sandy! Go look!" and I would run to the window and see the red light flashing.

Finally one year, I noticed my Dad was never around to see Rudolph.

When I was younger my sister and I would "do magic"..I had the ability to make my underware magically appear on the outside of my pants....to this day I am amazed at how I did this trick...not sure how I did it at the time...but dang I was good!!!

At nights, when I have trouble sleeping, I used to hear large footsteps - something like the Godzilla.

My younger sister for many years believed she had a magic foot. She was never naughty and any bad behaviour or mischief was caused by her magic foot not her. I was jealous I didnt have a magic foot too

When I went to see a mall Santa Claus my mom would always go up to the guy and talk to him right before I had my turn at talking to him. After my visit I'd ask her what she said to him and she said she was just saying hello. Then my mom would take me up there and stand a few yards away while he talked to me. I always thought it was the real Santa because some how he knew my name and what I wanted for Christmas, just like the real Santa would. I finally thought about it years after I quit going to see Santa and figured out what my mom was really telling him. (My name, what I wanted, etc.)

I used to believe…

When I was little I had an imaginary friend Day-Day. She was my best friend. My family members frequently tried to trick me and say they saw Day-Day somewhere, but they couldn't fool me, she was always with me. I was sad the day she had to leave me...

I used to believe…

When I was very little I had 4 or 5 imaginary friends. My mom told me a few years ago she used to worry about me, because I would change my voice and pretend to have conversations with them - with me speaking for them. :)

The only one I remember clearly is Goldilocks. She loved to cut off people's heads and eat them with catsup and mustard.

When my older brother and sister would pick on me I would threaten to call my imaginary friends if they didn't treat me better. They always just laughed...

when i was young me and my friend used to go to the park and when the swings moved in the wind we thought there were ghosts in the park

One day my older cousins told me Santa was racist because he never visited the home of any little black kids in the books and movies. So I didn't like him and didn't want him in our house.

I was 7 when I saw "E.T" for the first time and it scared me so much. I thought E.T. lived my shower, so every night before I could go to sleep, my Mom and Dad had to call into the shower to see if E.T. would answer. When he didn't, I could finally fall asleep.

When i was a little girl,my brother had a black, plastic turtle that i was scared of.He did`nt like me to play with it,so he said that if i lost it on the floor,he would grow up,get alive and eat me.I belived that for a long time....

In elementary school, the Mary Worth story was popular( turn out the lights, hold a candle, and chant in front of a mirror, "I believe in Mary Worth"; her ghost was supposed to appear in the mirror. Even now, I can't look in a mirror when the lights are out!!

I used to believe…

My daughter was about 9 years old and none of her friends believed in Santa any more. Well, she was a believer and I wasn't going to let her friends ruin it. As they sat in the back of my car one day, one of them said "you know, not everyone believes in Santa Claus". I responded by roaring "WE BELIEVE IN SANTA - AND IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE HE WONT COME TO YOUR HOUSE"! (I scared the you know what out of this little girl!). Anyway, after an uncomfortable pause, my daughter looked at the other girl and said "yeah, you gotta be stupid not to believe in Santa". She's 14 and to this day has never admitted that she doesn't believe.
