i used to think that the world started with vampires and that some one killed the queen vampire and then all the vampires turned into humans and that is how the human race began.

I used to believe…

Since our house didn't have a chimney, I though that Santa Claus came in through our basement. It had a door to the outside, I figured he came through that. Why he just didn't use the front door, I'll never know!

I used to believe in bloody mary. My friends were older than me, and some believe in bloody mary also. WE thought that if you went into the bathroom and did the bloody mary chant (about the baby and stuff) she would come and get you. So when I was younger than first grade, If I took a shower or something, I would leave the door partially open incase bloody mary came. Monsters never scared me, just bloody mary and freddie kregur(spelling aiight??)

I once left my autograph book out for Santa to sign. On Christmas Day I looked in it to find I had his autograph!! Wonder if it was really my mum...?

We had a fireplace in our old farmhouse and when the wind would blow it would sound like someone was talking to you through the chimney. This person soon became my best friend Mrs. Hollister! My mom said that I would lay on the hearth and talk to her for hours on end. She was the best babysitter my mom ever had.

when i was young my best friend and neighbour's mom use to babysit me. They were portugese and I was Canadian. We ate typical Canadian food such as meat and potatoes. My friends family ate food I never saw before. The fish still had eyes in it. One day I was there and opened the fridge and to my surprise I found monsters there. They had big claws and were moving around. I went screaming and running saying there is monsters in the fridge. I discovered later it was to be dinner. Live crabs.

when i went to bed at night, I believed monsters lived in the heating vent in my bedroom floor. I would put all my dolls in my bed under the blanket and I was afraid to have my feet outside the blanket. If I had to go to the bathroom at night I would be afraid cause there was a vent in the bathroom too. I would make bargins with the monsters and ask them not to hurt my babies. When I was done I would run back to my bed and find my safe place under the blankets. Now I can't stand anything touching my feet when I'm sleeping and I sleep with my feet uncovered.

when i was very young i usually would walk home from school with a friend. On the days that i had to walk by myself i use to believe that half of me was a boy and the other half was a girl and i had someone to talk to on the way home.

I use to have a make believe friend her name was Hun-a-burg and we were in competition with each other all of the time I had no brothers or sisters to compete with so I had to imvent one. I was the smart one and Hun-a-burg was the dumb one. I listened to my Mom and she did not and so on. It got me through many of lonely day and nights when I had no one to play with. Hun-a-burg died sometime before I went to High school but I never forgot my little friend today her memory is still with me.....

I never had imaginary friends growing up, even though I was an only child until I was 9. However, I had a couple of things that are still with me as an adult...don't ask me why. I was a child that grew up sleepign on her parent's bed until I was about 10 years old. Therefore, I feared sleepign or beign by myself. I would have to check out every corner and closet and open space to make sure no killers (or Freddy or Jason) were around. Still have nightmares aobut it, and have to sleep either by someone, close to someone, or with the lights and TV on (if alone). I just can't handle it. The second one is actually kind of funny. Afetr seeing JAWS, I have always been afraid that a shark would attack me. So, I still can't swim in a pool by myslef or even come near a pool drain without thinking Jaws is in there. And for the longest time I used to think a snake or an eel or some kind of wormy creature would come out from the shower drain or toilet and nip me in the behind.

I used to believe that aliens were going to get me at night and if I slept with my hands under the covers, they couldn't touch my fingertips and kidnap me.

When I was little I believed that there was a monster in the hallway. So, when I crossed the hallway I would peek around both sides of the doorway and then run into the bathroom and slam the door.

I used to believe that "shadow-cats" lived on my bedroom walls. They were sort of cat silhouettes/shadows that would jump on and play about on the other shadows on my walls.

I used to believe that there might be a vampire in the shower. Therefore, whenever I would have to go to the bathroom, I would always have to open the shower curtain first to make sure there was no vampire that would get me when I sat down on the toilet.

I had an imaginary best friend when I was a kid named Gringo. Gringo and I did everything together and we even 'dated' for a while. He then bought a house across from the mall so I didn't see him as much...only then did I learn he went off and married some woman and moved to Australia w/o even a goodbye! Every time I pass the mall, I still wonder how he's doing... I think he dumped me because it was easier on me than putting me thru the pain of telling him that I was in school now and it wasn't cool to have an imaginary friend... of course his rejection of me was just the beginning in a long line of men to follow... :)

I used to believe…

WHEN I WAS 5 I WAS TOLD IF YOU ARE A BAD BOY OR GIRL (I LIVED IN GERMANY) THE GERMAN SANTA WOULD THROUGH YOU IN A BIG GUNNY SACK AND TAKE YOU AWAY AND NEVER BE HEARD FORM AGAIN. ONE CHRISTMAS A TEEN AGE BOY WAS DRAGGED OFF AND I RAN AND HID UNDER MY BED!

I used to believe…

Aunt Abi used to feed me dinner with stories of rosemary.. 20 years back, rosemary lived on the rose colored clouds found during summer evenings and she waited to snatch and take me into the clouds..

Ever since, I have avoided venturing out late in the evenings.

Until I was about 8 or 9, I truly believed that hobbits lived in the gardens, that wardrobes really led to other worlds, and that animals could talk....

I used to believe…

My brother used to tease my sister and I terribly when we were little. He made up a story about our attic (loft or whatever) that people used to hang themselves in there. As a result whenever it was dark in the attic and I was alone and i'd only gone up there to fetch something down, i'd run up the stairs and down the stairs as fast as possible so that the ghosts of these people couldn't get me.

I used to believe…

My parents used to tape record me talking and singing. When I heard the girl on the tape talking back to me, I was sure there was another me in the tape recorder! Despite my parents best efforts to convince me otherwise, I have a tape of myself whispering, "I know you're in there. I'm going to press rewind and listen to you talk now."
