i used to believe that santa could leave presents, even though we didn't have a chimney, because my parents said they'd leave the back door unlocked. :)

I used to believe that when I turned 16 I would become a witch. I was interested in witches and read many books about them so I must have gotten the idea from a book. I also was convinced that being a witch was inherited and that my mother was one, but she wouldn't tell me. She has long black hair and people would tell her she looked like a witch, so I was sure she was waiting to tell me until I was 16. Unfotunatly I didn't become a witch, but my mom later told me that she wanted to be a witch when she was a kid too. So, I guess the desire to be a witch does run in the family!

I had two imaginary friends and a guardian angel. The friends were twins, a girl and a boy, named Lonnie and Donnie. They were personified by two child sized mannequins in a Woolworth's store. I would visit them frequently talking very animatedly and hugging them whenever I got the chance. The guardian angel was their cousin - her name was Bonnie. When I turned 10 I decided I was too old for imaginary friends and such and took all three out to the back porch and said goodbye once and for all. Then Woolworth's closed and the mannequins disappeared as well.

I used to believe that the "real" Santa Claus was at Macy's in New York City. All the rest were fakes.

I handled finding out about Santa Claus pretty well. However, when I later found out about the Easter Bunny, I was completely devastated.

I had this voice in my head that used to order me around. I finally had enough and basically had to tell myself to get lost. Now that I have come to know the real me I am much happier. Don't let your conscience rule your life! Make up your own rules

My dad used to take me and my brother on hikes through the state park...as we walked the trails through the forest, he would warn us to cover up the backs of our necks, lest the vampire tree frogs lurking in the branches above would drop down and bite us. I still get a tingly feeling in my neck when I walk through a forest.

I lived in a house that did not have a fireplace. I thougt at Christmas when Santa came that he had to enter our house through the stove!

After seeing The Wizard of Oz and hearing the story of Hansel and Gretel, I began having a recurring nightmare that a witch with really really long finger nails would come out of the heat register that was under my bed and tickle me,gently at first and then harder and harder until those blood red nails were piercing my skin. I woke up screaming every night for months,no matter what my parents tried. I still (in my 20's) can't have any arms or legs hanging off the bed , and I have my bed right on the floor so there can't possibly be anything under there. Witches are scary...

I used to believe…

Til this day, right before Christmas, my brother and myself receive a Christmas card from Santa Claus with a dollar bill in it. And til this day, my parents have never confessed you sends them.

when i was about 6 i used to get really scared when i was for example i was taking my T-Shirt off. For the split second that the T-shirt was over my eyes and i couldnt see i used to think i'd get grabbed by by those bicycle legged things from "Return to OZ".

When I was little, I used to believe that there were dinosaurs on the other side of the hill I lived near. The dad of one of the neighbor kids had told him that to keep him from wandering up the hill and into the woods, and somehow it just spread to every kid in the neighborhood. Worked, too.

I used to have nightmares about the factory up the road from our house that had those metal vents on the roof that swivel round in the wind - they were shaped like the grim reapers hood and white spooky things would come out of them.

i used to believe that there were monsters and flesh eating ghosts hidden all around my room. i thought the only way to protect myself from these creatures was to 1. have the door closed, 2. have the fan on, 3. have the shades of my window down, 4. id have to be under the covers.

These factors combined created this invisible shield over my body. if one factor was missing, my shield would be weaker and id be vulnerable to the monster slaying

I had two imaginary friends, and they were twins named Lisa and Christina. Lisa wore a blue sweater and Christina wore a purple one.

I used to believe that there were creatures called "lonuses" that lived in holes in the ground and only came out at night. They were friendly to me only,so whenever my parents went out after dark, I'd always say "Watch out for the lonuses!"

My grandpa told me that there were little guys (about the size of those little green army men) who lived under his bed. If I behaved I could take them home to live with me. Each time I would visit him I would bring more home. I thought they were real. I would tell them stories and act out all sorts of things. Sometimes they would hide in my pocket and go places with me.
One day my grandpa was really grouchy. So I ask him why he was being so mean. He replied, "Well, the little guys kept me up all night. They were up drinking tequilla with the Mexicans all night. I didn't get any sleep. Those guys sure know how to have fun." Later that week, I got in trouble at school and told my teacher the same story...My teacher called home full of concern...

I've always believed in Santa. Even now, at 22, I say I believe in Santa becaue I like the idea of him. But here's why I never really STOPPED believing. There was an old man named Louie in my hometown who played Santa at the mall every year. If there is one human being on the planet who totally could be the real santa, Louie is it. He was kind of short and round with a long white beard and white hair.. even had the rosy nose thing going on. He MADE TOYS. His license plate said Santa. Here's the kicker: Louie went to my church and used the same bank as my parents. So... when my parents tried to tell me Santa was fictional . . how could I believe them? I mean.. the man sat behind me in church every week!
