my friend and i used to talk to the screw in metal part of broken lightbulbs. we would ask them where they wanted to be and then we would kindly put them there. we did this for a year or more.
it made sense at the time but i do remember one of the last times i did it, the broken buld part said that it wanted to be on the roof of a garage and after i threw it up there i thought 'this is silly'

My sister told everyone (when she was 6) that she has seen the shadow of the Easter Bunny on her bedroom wall and that it had waved at her. She then believed that she was its assistant.

I was fostered for about 5 years of my life. When i was in foster care everyone told me i was "special". Every since I've been concinced I'm different to everyone else.
Also when I moved to my permanent home, the one I'm in now, my room was (and still is) opposite the stairs, and at night it was dark at the bottom of the stairs. I would never turn my back on the stairs in the night, because i was convinced that there were dwarves down there, with big axes. I had never read Lord of the rings or The hobbit, never even seen snow white, so i didnt know what they were until the fear came back recently. I am the only 15 year old I jbow who is scared of dwarves......
I never believed in Father Christmas, just the Christmas Monkey that magically grew satsumas and small ineffective toys in it's many pockets over Christmas Eve. There is was without fail, hanging from the back of the bedroom door every Christmas morning, eyes following you around the room with it's smirky mouth mocking. Fair play to Mum though, she could sew.

When i was little up until I was about 10 or 11, I thought that vampires would try to get girls at night, s i would pull my covers up to my neck; That way, I could feel the vampire trying to take the covers off of me to suck my blood in time to wake up my stuffed animals, who would attack the vampire while I ran away to saftey.

we I was little on Christmas Eve me and my brother would look out our windows trying to "spot" Santa. Any time we saw a red light flashing int he sky we were sure that it was Rudolph, squeal and hop into bed. I know now that it was just lights from a plane, but it was fun.
I used to believe that Santa Claus lived on the moon in a city called North Pole. I thought that if you looked at the moon the right way you could see him watching you....
I had an extremely vivid imagination as a child and sometimes my friends caught the brunt of it. When i was about 5, i told the boy across the road that there was a grass monster who hid in our lawn, and you had to run him over with the [toy] lawnmower or else he would grab your ankles and drag you into the grass. And then you'd become a hedge :P He totally believed me, and was apparently really freaked out by it because his mum ended up coming over and asking me if i knew anything about it. Of course i feigned innocence.

Whenever I had my head turned the other direction, my dad told me that there were elves running across our fence. I never saw one. <sigh>

I was given a single boxed magic trick where you could do an illusion that made it look like you could pass a magic wand through a £5 note.
I practised until I finally felt ready to try out my new found skills. I did so on a man who had come to demonstrate a stupidly expensive vaccuum cleaner.
Once he had shampooed our living room I showed him the trick. He immediately pointed out that the magic wand was in two pieces and secretly contained magnets inside - then left the room with a smug grin.
Bastard.

We had a little plastic dancing santa that we put up every Christmas. This little Santa had one foot stuck perpetually up. My father told me that when I left the house, Santa would put his foot down and rest. I used to rush back in the door, to see if I could catch him at it. Mom still has that stupid Dancing Santa.

When me and my sister were little my parents used to ask on christmas day whether or not we heard the bells on santas sleigh when he arrived in the night. my sister always swore that she'd heard them but i never did and was always really disappointed.

I used to believe that at Christmas if your house never had a chimney then santa came through your letter box
I used to believe if I concentrated hard enough I could move stuff.

We had a pot-bellied wood stove, so when I was about four I figured out that Santa Claus was a lie. I realised it was really a world-wide secret organization of very skinny present-giving ninjas. On any other day they were regular people in our neighborhood, I just couldn't figure out who.

My mother introduced me to the concept of "Scoutbird". This was a bird that worked for Santa Claus and was keeping tabs on me throughout the year to make sure that I was good, and therefore report back to Santa on whether or not I was worthy of my presents come 25 December. My own mother. Can you believe it? She was wrong, wrong, wrong.
