I used to believe that talking to the sewer lids in the middle of the roads was a way to contact Godzilla. And we could only talk to him if we took our Barbie jeep to the middle of the cul-de-sac to get there.

When I was little I had this really creepy clown picture hanging up on my bedroom wall. I used to think the clown was real and living in the attic and every time I heard thumps in the attic at night I thought it was the clown trying to escape to come get me, it turns out it was just old pipes rattling but to this day I can never go near a circus and even the sight of a clown gives me a cold sweat.

Thanks to my sociopath uncle I used to believe that if I was bad Santa's evil cousin Blood Clause would come down the chimney and put me into his burlap sack, fly to the south pole, bake me into meatloaf and eat me. Needless to say I was a very well behaved child.

When I was young i had an Imaginary friend called Lenny, although this is a boys name she was a girl. when my mum asked about Lenny i told her that her mummy and daddy died in a fire and that she had a dog that was black because it was burned, so she moved into my wardrobe. I also cried when i found out Lennie was a boys name, I used to take her to school and everything!

I can remember blowing out birthday candles always wishing to be able to fly like Superman. One day I believed it might be possible to fly by picking myself up by the neck. So there me and and my little buddies were, on the play ground, looking like we were choking ourselves to any oblivious onlookers.

I once convinced my little brother that everyone has purple hippopotamus that only they can see and that if you don't have one, then it means you aren't a real person. He cried for hours because he couldn't find his purple hippo.

I used to think when i went to bed at night a witch would come and cut my ears off if i didnt cover them when i went to bed

I used to believe there were crocodiles under my bed. At night they would wake up and look for ankles to grab and drag under the bed. However, they didn't like to venture far from the safe cover of the bed. So if I got up at night to go to the bathroom I would stand on the bed and jump off. Then when I got back I would do a running jump to get back onto my bed.

I was smart enought to know that you killed a vampire with a wooden steak, but I was a little confused how that worked. Perhaps they got splinters in their gums and their fangs fell out so they couldn't feed any more. It was quite a revelation to discover that it was a actually a stake.

When I was little my dad used to tell me that there was a short little man with white hair and who liked to eat children and hamsters (I had a pet hamster at the time) that lived in the woods surrounding our house. Every night I would get so scared that he would pop up underneath my window (which was on the first floor) and try and eat me! When we moved I still kind of believed that he lived in our attic.

In the nearest city to my hometown, there is an old radio tower. I always believed that it looked like a platform with red chairs, and since they were so high up in the sky, I thought they were chairs for giants.

When I was little, there were always commercials for the Blair Witch Project on TV. I would make my dad get rid of the witches before I went to sleep. However, looking under the bed wasn't enough. I made him spray 'Witch Replant' all over my room. It was actually Lysol spray that he took a sharpie to.

I always used to believe that when I turned the lights off downstairs at night, a werewolf would come and chase after me if I didn't run up the stairs. I'm 19, and I still run up the stairs to get away from the monsters.
