I used to believe…
When i was younger, whenever I saw a bunny I thought it would become bigger when my back was turned and come and get me. That image stopped when I saw one in a really public place. I saw the bunny, kept my eye on it and ran...right into a pole. I can still hear it vibrating and all the people asking if I was alright...

When I was little, my older brother used to tell me that only monsters don't blink, and would then stare at me, unblinking. I thought my brother was a monster for a long time, and still to this day get a little freaked out when people don't blink for a long time.

On my playground there were a few power boxes with a warning sign that looks like an angry electricity bolt. I was convinced that if you got too close to a transformer a monster would come out and shock you.

When I was a little girl, I believed that there were little men in my ceiling fan. Every night, I would cry for my mom, screaming "There's a man in my fan!" I was 3 years old, and I thought these 'men' were going to kill me.

Ever since I can remember, my family would visit my aunt and uncle for the holidays. Whenever we got there, I would play with all of the cousins in a big group. Every time that we went outside, my cousins would tell me that I couldn't go too far out in the woods because a witch lived just past the line of sight. It took many years of staying inside the house to finally figure out that it was a lie.

Instead of having a security blanket as a child, I had a pillow. And I was convinced that every night there was some creatures that would come into my room and try to steal it. So every night I would put this pillow between my knees and have a vice grip on it. If I found it on the floor in the morning I was convinced that the creatures had tried to take it from me

Back when I was a little kid, I thought that if I poured a "potion" (that was really mud and other random things found in the yard) on the deck in the backyard, it would transform into an airplane and I could fly to the North Pole where I would meet Santa. I attempted this multiple times, needless to say I was very disappointed.

As a child at bedtime, I kept my entire body under the covers. Due to monsters, any exposed skin meant certain death. I told my mom we should invent a bed snorkel so i never had to leave the sheets, not even for oxygen.
I used to believe that since there was Santa Claus, there must be a Hannukah Man. I thought he drove in a 1960's Oldsmobile to our house and put presents by the Menorah.

When I was really little, I had two imaginary friends: Boo-boo and Tu-tu. I absolutely loved them until I was about 6, when I finally decided I was done with them. I walked into the kitchen, and my father said "Hey, Jen, where's Boo-boo and Tu-tu?" I replied, "They jumped off a cliff." For the next little while, I would tell everyone who asked a different way that my imaginary friends died.

When I was little, I used to believe that if you weren't asleep when Santa came he would send his elves down the chimney to poke out your eyes with their pointy shoes. Nightmares for weeks after Christmas until my dad finally convinced me he was joking.

when I was little I slept with about 27 stuffed animals in my bed at one time to protect me from the evil monsters under my bed. (I am not joking about the 27 stuffed animals, they were all ranging in size) and when I fell asleep the stuffed animals would "wake up" and have a dance party in my room. when a monster came out from under my closet they would stop dancing and start fighting the monster until it went away. My stuffed animals were Karate ninjas.

When i was younger my dad use to tell me to look out the car window when we were driving at night past woods, because i needed to look out for the goat man incase he attacked the car. i was terrified of the goat man.

When I was young I was so convinced that the Tooth Fairy was real. My dad is so creative, he made "a tooth fairy trap", I can barely remember it but it involved string and paper and like a cage... we set down ink so she would walk in it and leave foot prints. The next morning there was little footprints all over my paper and money under my pillow. I understood completely why she didnt get caught, cause she is way too little and fast. when i got older i realized my dad used my Barbie shoes to create the footprints.. :(
I used to believe that when you made a wish on a dandelion it had to reach heaven to come true so i'd chase all the pieces around my garden blowing them into the air.
