When i was little(I was four or five) I was CONVINCED faeries existed adn lived in our berry bushes. I would make swings for them out of ribbon and wood, and buttons and lace. One day after my nap my mother told me she had seen a little faerie with striped stockings and a pink dress on my swing. I ran to the window but it was too late. I was so dissapointed. About four years later I reminded my mom of this event trying to convince her faeries were real- and she got a guilty look on her face and confessed to making the whole thing up. I was crushed!

When I was a kid, I had a lot of different imaginary friends.
One was sorta like a million little people who where half an inch tall who would follow me around. Why a million? I think it was because whenever I asked them a problem, I would get an answer from the personality I wanted to hear from.
After that stage, I just started taking my favorite fictional characters. Whenever I saw a fictional character I liked, I would just add him/her on. And whenever I got bored with one, I just "sent them back home".
Even to this day, I can't help but do it a few times (I'm currently obsessed with this Anime and there's this really cute detective ; ) Hey, it's my life!)

When I was little, one of my baby teeth had a cavity, so we didn't bother getting it filled in since it would fall out in time. When it did fall out, my sister said the tooth fairy wouldn't want it since it had a big hole in it.
I said, "Well, maybe she can use it as a toilet or a wastebasket."
So that night I left the tooth fairy a note, giving her different ideas for what to use the tooth for. I was so excited in the morning when the tooth was gone. I really thought the tooth fairy liked my ideas! ^-^

When I was little I had an invisible friend named Shorty. I did the usual, talked, played, set a dinner plate and fed him. One day he just went away. A couple of years later I was at my first Passover dinner and the adults announced that Elijah had come and drank the glass of wine that was left for him and pointed to the empty glass in the middle of the table. No, I yelled out, that was Shorty! I was convinced that this must be the house Shorty had moved to.

As a side note, I find it funny now that his name was Shorty and I never grew taller than 5'2".

I thought spirits of the deceased would float around on earth while we still lived and would watch everything we did..

I used to think that there was a giant green monster who spied on me every night through my bedroom window. He was about 50ft tall but since he only did it at night nobody knew about him but me. I thought that he was sent to eat me but never could bring himself to do it because he was so nice. Eventually he stopped coming to my window to eat me but just to learn more about me. I never looked out the window to see him though because he could have a change of heart.

When i was little my dad used to reflect light off his watch onto the wall and tell me it was tinkerbell the fairy off peter pan.
He never sat me in front of the tv or anything to make me shut up, just shined his watch on the wall just high enough so i couldn't touch it. I used to spend hours jumping up the wall to try and "catch" her........
This practice stopped when i ran at the wall in frustration and ended up with a nosebleed....

When I was a little kid me and my sister(she was only three years older than me) thought that pokemon was real. We had this hole in our backyard and we thought that it would lead us to the Pokemon world. So we spent a lot of time digging by hand. Of course when we moved we couldn't dig anymore and we eventually stopped believing it.

I used to believe…

My best friend would sleep with her legs crossed because she believed aliens could rape her while she was sleeping. She did this until we were close to High School age.

I used to think that the monsters under the stairs made a mass migration every night, and that their migration path led them right over my bed. If I lay very very still and held my breath, they wouldn't notice that there was someone under the blanket they were walking on and they wouldn't attack me. If I closed my eyes, I could see them all stumbling over me in a long long line...

When you caught the white fuzzy things that fly through the air, that was part of Santa Claus' beard and it meant you were being good.

I used to believe that as long as I slept with the blankets pulled up completely over me, I would be safe from monsters. I don't know HOW I survived the lack of oxygen.

When I was a child I really believed that my dad could catch leprechauns. He would tell me to look into his cupped hands with one eye to see the leprechaun lighting his pipe. As I was looking through, he would allow a little light through his fingers and yes I thought it was a pipe being lit!

my parents told me that santa hired elves that made cookies and built toys and they lived among us (i had discovered my uncle was dressed as santa one year) and so my aunt and uncle were secret "elves" and that was how there were so many santas in so many shopping malls, because the elves relayed the information back to headquarters. i couldn't believe i had elves in my family.

I was afraid of elephants due to the "Pink Elephants on Parade" dream sequence from Dumbo. When ever it was time for bed, I was afraid that the pink elephants would come and take me away. To get me to fall asleep, my father would spray "Pink Elephant Repellant" all over my room, rendering it safe for 24 hours from all packaderms.
I slept like a dream, but for over 3 months we had this ritual of the spraying.

Come to find out - it was Aquanet Hairspray, and yes, things in my room were very sticky!!

When I was little I used to think [like most kids] there were monsters under beds. Because of this whenever I went to bed or my parents room I would get all my stuffed animals and set them around the bottom of the bed as some sort of barrier against monsters.
