when I was little, I went into a card store (probably hallmark), and opened all the drawers underneath the card racks. My parents promptly told me that one drawer in every card store is filled with poisonous snakes. To this day, I still get butterflies in my stomach when I pass a card rack.

When I was young, my brother convinced me that if I didn't cover up my toes when I went to bed, the toe pirates would take them away from me. To this day, I cannot sleep with uncovered toes.

When I was maybe 7 years old, I believed that people are only around when I'm around..In other words, everyone suddenly miraculously appeared just for me.
I also believed as I was riding in the car with my dad that I could point at people passing on the street and flip at them with my finger, and they would die or disappear.

When I was about six years old, I had an imaginary friend that I named Angelina. Back then I never heard of Angelina Jolie. But when I finally saw her name in a magazine one day, I got upset and said, "Hey! She stole my imaginary friend's name!" My mom must have thought I was crazy. :/

When I was little my dad was stationed in Okinawa, and whenever he would come back, he'd tell me about how he'd have lunch with Godzilla. I firmly and solidly believed this, and would tell my friends at school. I even threw a rock at a 6th grader for saying my dad made it up!
I lived at the top of a cul-de-sac... Well the older kid 9 houses down at the street entrance had a thin metal rod one day... He was scraping it on the pavement (making it spark) when he let go and it flew straight across the street and fell into the storm drain... He said I could have it if I wanted to fight the sewer monster for it!
After hearing that I wouldn't go anywhere near the end of our street for almost a year unless I was in a car!

From the age of 3 or 4 I believed that Satan and Dracula lived under the toys in my room, and would come out at night when I was asleep and taunt me.
I used to believe, due to a dream I once had at a young age, that if i walked up my neighbours big lane halfway up i would fall into a rabbit-like hole where there were 1000s of little cartoon people and i was there king. There, i said it

When I was little; I had a computer in my room. And each night, I would stare at it, terrified. I used to think something was gonna come out, or that a scary face would appear on the screen. My mum and dad said they'd take the computer out of my room, but I didn't want them to. So I asked them, each night, to put a towel over it. However, I would make faces out of the pattens on the towels, which scared me even more. I just got my computer took out in the end.

When I was little, whenever we drove past the airport at night, my mom would tell me that all of the different colored lights on the ground were porchlights for the gnomes that lived there. I believed it for many years...

when i was little my mom would tell me all kinds of stories and she made them sound so convincing i beleived them all! One Christmas eve, we were staying in Miami and my mom was reading me Christmas books, when this red light took off in the sky. Of course, i beleived her when my mom told me it was Rudolph the rednosed reindeer leading Santa's sleigh... turns out we were very close to the airport - it was a plane taking off!!!

my little sister used 2 be frightened of father christmas when she was little- LOL!!!!
coz she thought that it was scary that he could climb into anyone's house whenever he felt like it. She didn't want to get on his bad side so whenever she wrote the letter to him- you know, saying what presents she wanted- she was really sucking up, all "thankyou so so much for last year's presents, i love them very very much they're so lovely... please could i have w and x and y, and is you think ive been really really good could i please have z. But you don't have to get me all of those things if i've not been good enough. Thankyou so so so much xxxxxxxxxxxxx."
Incredibly sick-making stuff.
I used to believe that Santa's elves had hidden cameras in every place in the world. They reviewed the footage in the North Pole, in a big futuristic base. I also believed that in addition to the cameras, each house had it's own elf watching their every move and documenting every bad deed. Needless to say, I was a very well behaved child.
I was born on Christmas, and my parents often told me that I was a gift from Santa Claus. I was already upset to believe that I was not their real child, and to make it worse my mother often told me that one Christmas Santa would come down the chimney and take me back.
I was so upset and terrified of Santa that I hated having to sit on Santa's lap at the mall for pictures.
It was because of this that i stopped believing in Santa at an early age.

When I was about 7-10, I had a dream about a girl named Anne-Maree. She had lime green eyes, underneath her eyes were gingerish freckles, with ginger hair. She was my age except one day older. She was marching singing "Step by step. Heart to heart. Left right left. We all fall down. Like toy soldiers." I just followed her in my dream and I heard "Anne Maree!" repeated. Since then I've been thinking about her everyday. She's glued to my mind now.

When I was very young, I was talking to my grandpa with my parents in the room about fairies. He picked up that all the fairies I was talking about were female, so he asked me why there weren't any male fairies. My reply? "Don't be silly, their penises would fall out when they were flying around!"

I used to fear the creature on the Pepperami advert. My sister had a Pepperami lunchbox and she told me it was inside it. I had nightmares for years.

For easter my grandmother came over, and my brother and I had to share a room. We were very young, and my brother sat up from the floor and looked up at me.
He hatched an idea that we would take pictures of the easter bunny.
My parents caught us scheming and made my brother sleep with them so we wouldn't try anything.
