I used to believe…

This is not my belief, it's my friend's.

When my best friend was about 5 or 6 she had an imaginary friend named Grandmother Darnet (we still cannot figure out how she came up with that). One day, she got tired of Grandmother Darnet and didn't want her as a friend anymore. At the time, they were at the super market. Her mother asked where Grandmother Darnet was and Kyrsten insisted that she had been hit by a shopping cart and died.

You know how when you put your head down you can hear your heartbeat in your head? I thought it was a bunch of fairy construction workers building my pillow and coming up for breaks in my ears where they would mine my earwax potatoes.

.....yeah i was a little messed up ^.^;

I still believe this a little bit.

My house has an attic that creaks around alot. I used to think there were a bunch of hillbilly ghosts up there all playing cards and cooking stew. Whenever they ould scooch around in there chairs the attic would creak! It scared the jeepers out of me!

i used to think that the little beating inside your head was a dinosaur that was on the other side of the world and every time it would beat the dinosaur would come one step closer

When I was 3 or 4, my mother told me about Santa Claus and how he came down the chimney. But I always imagined a monster, known only as "Fireplace Man" coming down the chimney. He had the ability to be invisible, shape shift, and walk on ceilings. He looked like a gray troll and had a ragged brown shirt. I had a number of nightmares about him. Thankfully, though, in one of the nightmares, my sister helped me push a boulder onto his head. I don't believe this anymore (duh) but I still have the occasional nightmare about him...

When I was very young, I believed that witches lived in my mattress and that they would poke me all over my body. (I believed this so much, I could actually feel them poking me.)

I used to believe…

there were these tiny little armys of guys who lined up in single file and marched from the "evil side" of my bed around past me then turned and went back again. Sometimes if i was awake when they came by they would kill me, sometimes if i was asleep when they came by they would kill me. I used to be up all night incase they went by on one of the kill me if im asleep ones. When it was the kill me if im awake ones i would just desperatly pretend to be asleep for a minuite until they were gone.

there was always a evil pipe organ with a face that was trying to kill me.

the bloody mary storie that all the kids in my elementary school went crazy about was something about some girls husband and a guy with and axe who chased this girl and eventually chopped her up in her bed with an axe. If you went into a bathroom with all the lights out and the door and windows closed, spun around three times and said her name three times then you would see her in the mirror, and she would appear to come out of it, but when you turned around you would realize that she was really behind you and just getting closer. If you didnt turn on the lights in time she would kill you with a knife or axe or something. She was supposed to be wearing a white, bloody nightgown. I was scared to death. Unfortunitly for me, this rumor eventually escelated into you could just walk into a dark bathroom and THINK about bloody mary and she would sence your thoughts and come kill you. It was to take revenge for how she got killed. The only thing was, since there was only one bloody mary, she wouldnt come if she was busy killing some other kid in a bathroom. Hence, even if someone tried it and nothing happened, it was perfectly explainable. Pretty much it made sure that everyone stayed terrified.
i kept my hand on the lightswitch in bathrooms for like six years.
i was so freaked out (in first grade) that my mom went to do it so i wouldnt be scared, but of course that made it worse cause i thought she was gunna die. Then when she came back alive, i told her bloody mary must have been busy but she was gunna come get her later if she had time.
my poor mom. she gave up trieing to convince me.;)

When I was about five or six my friend's older sister told me there was an evil spirit of a girl who had gotten hit by a car that lived on her car's roof. Only the girls spirit was SO evil that she eventually turned into a monster that ate people's heads when they got out of the car she was on.
--at this point she hit the top of the car when I wasn't looking and then told me the girl had just hopped on her car.

It took her mom and mine thirty minutes to get me out of the back of the van because I was so hysterical and simply would not get my head cut off.

I'm fifteen and I wish I still had my imaginary friend.
He was really freakin' awesome and sometimes I miss him alot.

Most kids I know of have imaginary friends who were human, or maybe a duck or something, but it's very rare to me that I come across someone with an imaginary friend as strange as mine.

You see, when I was very young--so young that I don't remember creating him--I came up with an imaginary friend of my own...
His name was George and he was a Werewolf. I have no clue where I came up with the idea of him, but he truly was my best friend for a while. I even have a little story I wrote about him and I in a journal of mine complete with a picture that simply re-enforced the memory I still have of him which is of a tall guy (no clue how old I thought he was) with brown tattered pants and brown hair with long sideburns and a prickly un-shaven face with hairy arms too.

After a while, I realized that George would be leaving me soon so I created a family of siblings and cousins for him to go with--including a young cousin named Jack who repetedly would fall through the ceiling.

Eventually George left me but of course I remember him...still I try and figure out where such a young kid would think up something like a werewolf though.
