I used to believe…

When I was younger, I used to believe there was a monster in my room.

I was like 4 or 5 and I watched "Monster, Inc", this film mad me dream a lot about angry, funny and cool monsters.

The funny thing is that I was not afraid of monsters, I used to want to see and meet them a lot.

I used to believe that the mermaids taught me to swim

I used to believe when I was 5 or 6, if I was covered with my blanket, I was protected from ghosts or demons.

I'm not sure if this counts as an imaginary friend, but I used to believe that there were small people inside my mouth, and they were hiding in little slits i had found in my mouth (I later found out those led to my nose) I thought they took the food I ate and either stole it or turned it to poo. I used to think that I needed to get them out so I would stop being hungry and pooing, so at the dinner table I would open my mouth, stick out my tongue and place it on the table as a ramp, so the little people would leave and go to someone else, I would also point my head at my brother, so the little people would go to him instead when i "let them out"

When I was younger, I was a rather logical child. I knew Santa couldn't exist, so I asked my Mom and she said I was right. For whatever reason, I still believed in the Easter bunny, and my hopes came crashing down to reality when I saw my Mom bringing home the same stuff we had in our Easter baskets the next day.

When I was little, I was really afraid to walk in the hallway at night by myself unless I turned the lights on. I thought there was a walking skeleton that was hiding in the dark and I was too afraid to talk about the skeleton, fearing that it could hear me

I used to believe that smoke detectors were secretly UFOs and that aliens were watching me when I walked through the hallway

When I was a child I used to believe that when I went to sleep, some kind of maniac or monster would come to my bedroom, and tried to kidnap me, but If I was under the blankets of my bed it couldn't kidnap me.

When I was a child I used to believe that Bloody Mary was a real game, played at night in front of the mirror in a bathroom. I was very scared.
