When i was 9 i had this babysitter named Michelle. I thought she was a vampire. One night she was babysitting me and it was really stormy. I was so scared so i decided to sleep on the couch. So just before i was asleep i opened my eyes and Michelle was crawling towards me quietly trying to get her homework and not wake me up. I screamed sooo loud I think she almost had a heart attack, and she never babysat me again. HAHA

My grandmother lived in an apartment building after she split from my Papa when I was little. The building had one of those buildings where the people who lived there could drop off trash and recycling and stuff and I always was afraid to walk or drive by it (it was sort of in the middle of the back row of the parking lot). I always thought that a dragon lived in it and ate everything that went in so I never wanted my Grandma or my parents to go in there. I used to have dreams about it every six months

I live in a cottage and there's a hole in one of the beams on the stairs, with a bit of wood stuck in it. I used to believe that it was a lever, if I could get this lever-thing out of the hole, I would be transported to fairyland.
Sadly, the wood hasn't come out yet....

The belief that If I didn't go to sleep the humpty-backed leprachaun would come into my bedroom, sew up my lips with bootlaces and take me off to live with the other fairies under the hawthorn tree at the bottom of our garden.
I believed in father christmas until i was 10. I only found out he wasn't real when i got a toy sword and on the back it said "made in china" and i said to my mum "doesn't father christmas make toys in the north pole?" and she had to tell me he wasn't real. I was so upset. I loved him so much. It felt like he'd died!
I had my first imaginary friend when i was 3 or 4, he was a giant white rabbit called sticky.
Then i met Tom. He was a boy the same age as me with brown hair and blue eyes, he was good looking but i could kind of never make out his face properly, like it was kind of out of focus.
Then we started playing a game where i was a fairy princess and tom was my twin brother and we invented HEAPS of other imaginary characters to play this game with (i am an ony child). When i was 11 the fairy game stopped being fun because i knew i looked stupid playing imaginary games even though it was really real to me!
Tom and the others continued to hang around and we met a few more imaginary people along the way. Eventually it was just me and Tom again but then when i was 13 or 14 i made best friends with this guy and he liked me but i didn't feel the same way about him at the time (we ended up going out a few years later).
Tom got really jealous and sometimes when my friend would talk to me, Tom would make smart remarks about what he was saying. It was really distracting.
When i was about 15 or 16 me and Tom had a big fight and he told me he was in love with me and i realized that i was in love with him too and i had been for a long time. But i knew that we couldn't be together obviously becauase people would think i was crazy and i said that and Tom said i shouldn't care what they thought. I ended up yelling at him to leave me alone and that he wasn't real and that i was and i needed to stop thinking about him and start thinking about real people. He started crying and walked out the door and never came back.
I was so upset. I ended up going out with the guy but secretly it was on the rebound from Tom. It didn't work out with the guy and i know it was because i was really in love with someone who i know doesn't exist.
I still think about him all the time and i miss him. I know how it must sound, like i was such a lonely person or something but that's not true! I've always had lots of friends and attention from guys. But despite that, Tom is my favourite person of all the people i've ever known, and i haven't told anyone about him since i was 7. My mum didn't even know that he still existed.
I used to believe that all the Easter Bunny could grant me magical powers. I figured, if the Easter Bunny has magical powers, and he gives things to people, then maybe he could grant me magical powers, too. Many Easters did I attempt to catch him. One year I even wrote him a letter!
I thought that I was destined to become the phantom of the opera after seeing the movie. I was horrified at his scary face so i prayed so I wasint the phantom and, you know what? It worked!

When my neice was three years old and she would always steal my boyfriend's hat and end up loosing it. One night when she tried to take it, he threw it to my and I hid it from her. When she asked where it was, we told her the garbage man took it. Apparently she believed it, because a week or so later, she was tired of playing a toy, and asked him to throw it to the garbage man. She is now four, and every now and then still brings that up.
I used to make giant circles of dead grass with my friends. We spent hourss collecting grass and leaves and things to make them in the playground. We always thought a bird would land in them but then one of my friends started believing she could turn into a dragon and kept "Nesting" in it. So whenever someone kicked it, she got really angry and said "Hey thats my nest you're kicking!".
I only realised how silly this was when i started going to secondary school.
I used to believe that at the end of my bed there was a Kitchen that I would always go and cook in. All my imaginary friends, Piper, Prue, Pheobe, Paige, and Jane would help me make delicous food that me and my twin would have as a midnight feast that nught. My twin believed in it too, you see. i used to have this special sish I made with my friends: A bowl of Giant Strawberries with Melted Chocolate Sauce inside and covered with cream. I couldn't ever make it without my friends.
I still go and have a bowl of my special strawberries sometimes....

I thought very long and hard about the Father Christmas issue as a child. I eventually came to the conclusion that he couldn't possibly be what everyone said. How could a fat man and some magic deer go all around the world, dispensing brand name toys out of the back of an apparently limitless pile on a sled? No, to my 8 year old brain, the answer was simple: This "Father Christmas" was an alien. I confronted my parents with my findings and they were told me the truth.

When I was about 6 years old, my dad told me that the tooth fairy would take my baby teeth and out them in the mouths of new babies to grow. I was pretty grossed out by the thought that my baby teeth had come from another person.
He also told me that fairy floss (candy floss in USA) was collected from flowers, where the fairies had farted it out. I used to love fairy floss, so I guess he was trying to save those teeth!
I really didn;t trust fairies for a while there

When I was about 6 I was told that there was a man who lived in the small wood (a spinney) at the end of our road. We called him 'Mr Spinney' and as my sister and I often saw smoke coming from the wood we believed he cooked and ate small children. I had to walk past it to go to school and was totally terrified that one day 'Mr Spinney' would grab me and put me on his BBQ. The friend who told me this story denies all knowledge...
I used to watch a TV show called charmed about three sister witches who were the charmed ones and saved the world.
I had two sisters and we all liked a different charmed one so i was completely convinced we werethe Charmed Ones. When one of the sisters, Prue, died, I got really scared for my older sisters life!
