I used to believe that on New years Eve a witch would fly past on a broomstick waving a banner saying "Happy New Year". Tyhe witch was bringing the new year in and if you didn't stay up to watch her the New Year wouldn't come. Due to my mums birthday being New Years Day, i always thought it was very unfair that she didn't get to wave the banner.

When I was smaller, I used to have an imaginary friend named "Spikey". You know those funny little alien guys you would get out of the machines? Well, my Spikey was a BIG version of that!!! He was big and green and fat- and he was my toy protector. He followed me only sometimes- not all the time! I would sometimes say, "Spikey doesn't like that." or "Spikey LOVES cookies! You should make him some" and other times I would deny that he was ever there. Dont ask me how I got a little toy alien has an imaginary friend- I was an odd little kid. Johhny Depp would have been so proud, lol.

there was this really funny belief among all us friends that if you put the remains of a sharpened pencil in a mug of water,it would turn into an eraser by the next day!so all of us kids would go the terrace with glasses of water and pencil sharpenings!

When I was 2 or 3, (can't remember which), my Grandma, "Nana," said, "Aunt Katie is your Godmother." I replied, "No she is not, she doesn't even have a magic wand!" I hate princess stuff now, but back then, I guess I watched a little too much "Cinderella"!

When I was little I believed that monsters came out of the toilet every time you flushed it. I would wash my hands before I flushed, flush and then run and jump on my bed until I heard the water stop running before it was safe to touch the ground again.
hall of fame
I use to think everyone were monsters, and when arent in my presents would turn ugly. but turn back as soon as I look at them.

My grandfather died not long after my family moved into our new home. I used to believe that my grandfather's ghost would come visit at night, like mary, from the mirror and so i'd sit at the foot of the stairs waiting for him to come talk to me.

My friend used to believe she could transform into anything she liked. She was the queen of the unicorns, the magic snow spider, and the fairy queen all at once. She used to 'Transform' in front of the kids at school. For the sake of our friendship i pretended i believed, which kind of meant she was my only friend! I thought she was a bit crazy, but then again, i knew i was Princess bluebell of the fairies who thwarted fairy hunters as i flew off to fairyland with my sister, Princess Snowdrop, every night! But only my twin sister (AKA princess Snowdrop) knew about it. I still like to visit the fairies every once ina while to remind them whos boss......
I used to think i had a million imaginary pets. I thought they were invisible and you could only see them if you belived. I ran my own invisible animal sanctuary in the playground at school with my two friends. Needless to say the other kkids thought i was crazy. But i still like to give Paddy the Pony and Princess the poodle a litle hug sometimes......

Hi. I'll get right to the point. When I was in 3rd grade, I was surfing the web, and found this video about Internet Safety. On this, it showed all the guys that betray you on the internet, blah blah blah. They called these the "wizzyWugs" (That's supposed to be scary?!) And one of these was "Follow-You Fiona", who looked like a cross between Lord Vauldemort and Micheal Jackson, but she had a nose. And she was sooooo creepy to me. So, for days, I was afraid that she would sneak up to my house and steal me away, (My parents said she tricks you into giving personal info, including your address) and, finally, my computer teacher told me that I had to GIVE her the info first. I thought she already knew! I told my husband, and he said his cousin had the same experiance.
I used to beleive those little things that looked like grass except were fuzzy on the tops could talk and i had one favourite but i forget what i called it when i was 9 and my favourite one died and i cryed and this was at recess and my friends supported me and we held a fake funeral on the school ground... i was W.E.I.R.D i still have an imaginary friend named Wack... and im 12!

When my Dad and his brothers (my uncles) were young, my Grandfather had them convinced that by him placing their empty M&M wrappers in his shirt pocket and spinning in a circle he could magically renew them into an unopened package of candy. He masterminded this by placing an extra bag of M&M's at the time of original purchase within his pocket in advance to giving his children their candy. Furthermore, he was succesful in materializing a bag of M&M's remotely into his shirt pocket upstairs via the same method. My Dad (the oldest of his brothers) believed these tricks until he was eight.

When I was younger, I first heard about Bloody Mary.
My friend tried it twice at a party last week, and both times she saw a strange light in the mirror.
Then she, 2 other friends, & me tried it, and we heard screaming
It wasn't us.
When the party was done, my other friend tried it at home, and she saw a strange light in her bathroom.
Her bathroom has no windows.................................
i used to believe that santa could shrink really small, because one year i said to my mum "how does santa get in? we don't have a chimney" so my mum told me he came in through the letter box.....
Also, bit emmbaressing this, i am 15 and it was only last year, i asked my mum if santa minds us going to bed later and she told me "Heather, Santa doesn't exsits it's me that puts the presents out" i was absolutly gobsmacked!! more that my mum could lie to me all that time than the fact he didn't exsist!!

When one of my friends was younger (though not much--we're in our 20s now), she believed that Hogwarts really existed, so she wrote a letter to Professor Dumbledore and sent it out in the wind.
Her younger brother found it in the driveway about a week later.
I used to believe cement mixers were big monsters pretending to be cars. From the rear, it looked like they had angry, evil faces. I thought they were holding toxic waste inside for some nefarious purpose, and that they drove themselves- no drivers necessary.

When i was younger my dad told me that the elves would watch me through the windows so they'd know if I was behaving so they could tell Santa. For years I would be afraid to go neer any windows around christmas and since my bed is next to a window I wouldnt go to sleep because I thought they'd get in the house and watch me sleep.
I was always curious as to how Santa looked but my mother always said to me if he sees you peeping while he puts your presants under the tree he will take them back as only naughty children did that.

The house where I grew up was in a town near a military base. At times they had drills where they had planes drop shell, the sound of which sounded like loud steps by the time they reached my neighborhood. Until age 12 at least I was convinced when I heard it that it was dinosaurs coming... I grew up in the 90s and Jurassic Park was big, what can I say... The sound and vibrations were IDENTICAL as in the movie!
