When I was a considerably younger I would see the giant oil drills on road trips. When I inquired to what they were my father informed me that they were giant Grasshoppers that ate cars.
I am 19 now and I still cant look at an oil drill without feeling afraid. Thanks Dad.

Most kids have imaginary friends when they're really young, but I started creating them at around age eleven. I started going through depression at that time, so my imaginary friends were my way of coping.
Stevey, my all time best friend, is still my conscience, friend, and the itty bitty voice in my head that says, "I told you so, but it's alright. We can still make it better."
He's even stopped me from attempting suicide.
I owe my life to a being I know doesn't exist.

There is an amusment park near my hometown and around Halloween they have a haunted graveyard and you go at night and you go through the graveyard and it supposed to bge scary. When I was about four, I felt I was brave enough to go. My parent wouldn't let me, so my dad told that if I went, a monster hand would come out of the ground and pull me under and I would never come out.
I believed him for years. I was terrified.
I used to believe pencil shavings were the key to bringing clay creatures to life. My best friend and I made a point to volunteer for the positions in school which emptied the pencil shavings from the sharpener, then secretly stash them away and bring them home to animate a small clay monster we hid in the basement.
It never worked out as we planned.

When I was younger, my little sister and I used to sleep in the attic on Christmas eve, and one year I couldn't fall asleep (too excited) and distinctly (according to my imagination) hear jingle bells and reindeer's hooves on the roof. In the morning, I told my sister about it, and for the next five years or so she stayed up late Christmas eve listening for Santa to land on the roof again.

At the 'tender' age of 17 I have 'Tiger', from the anime series Monster Rancher. He came around when I saw the series when I was 7 or 8.
He really just acts as my conscience, helping me chill when I'm mad, or sings to whatever I'm listening too.

I was convinced that my house was haunted by a ghost and was determined to meet it and become friends. I remember this leading to a series of adventures.

In Switzerland our Santa Clause comes for a visit on 6th of December and you get either treats if you were good all year or you get a whip (you don't get hit but he actually gives you the whip as a symbol, though of course all the kids always get the treats, usually a boot filled with clementines, peanuts, chocolate, etc.) Santa Clause checks if you were good in a really large book, where all the children's names are supposed to be written.
My grandfather has a white beard, a deep voice and in his sitting room there is a very large, old book, so, naturally, I believed he was Santa Clause until it turned out the book was an illustrated Bible from the 17th century...

When I was in bead and bored, I belived I could climb inside a specil bubble (invented by penguins) and float down to my friend The Loch Ness Monster (nessie) She was allergic to orange-stripped sea slugs, and her sea cat and I had to help her get past a feild of them.

When I was little I never had an imaginary friend (that I know of), but I did have an imaginary babysitter named Stacy. I would talk to her, and I especially remember doing it when we were on the boat and of all places in the shower.

When i was about 4 i had an imaginary friend called Bee Bee. she was blonde and wore a red cape and didnt have any legs, so she used to bounced along on a spring.i used to imagine she was behind me at night, and if i looked at her she'd tickle me to death. and when i was going down the stairs i always had to run, because she'd be chasing me to try and tickle me but once i got to the living room she wouldnt be able to get me. Yeah i know, im a freak
I used to hear so much about imaginary friends as a child that I thought every child had one and that everyone would think I was weird or rebellious if I didn't.
So I pretended to have an imaginary friend. I was very proud of convincing everyone that I actually believed she existed.

When I was a kid, my parent told me not to point in the dark because if I accidentally point at a creature of the night, it will haunt me.

when I was about 5 my big sister told me that mermaids were actually evil - with red eyes, sharp claws and pointed teeth. She said that they could swim into the pipes from the ocean and sneak up on you unawares while you were in the shower or on the toilet to attack. I would only have baths for the longest time because that little drain would OBVIOUSLY block out this big scary monster :)

When I was in 3rd grade, my friend Katie, told us the "legend" of Bloody Mary. She said to conquer her up you go into the bathroom with a baby doll and say "Bloody Mary! I have your 's' baby!" And then her "f", "d", "h", "a", and "b" baby. She told us then she would tear off the doll's head and then she would vanish and wings would appear in the mirror. Then she told us white wings meant she was gone for good, blue wings meant you were safe for right then, and red meant she was coming back that night.
I used to know all about fairies. Garden fairies... all kinds of fairies. I used to believe that I could make a fairy house and the next morning there would be fairies in side. When I tried it and there were none there I wouldn't stop crying, until my mom said that it wasn't a magical place enough for them - and I believed her ... ha!

When I was very little, I created a place called Rosie Land (because my name was Rosie.) In this land it was always sunny and a nice day out and we all sat around sipping lemonade, which came from a huuuge lemonade pitcher. There were also wolves in Rosie Land, but they stayed outside the fence and never bothered us.
