When I was in Kindergarten, an older boy told me that Godzilla lived inside dark clouds and you could only see him by looking at the cloud through a dental mirror. If you didn't keep an eye on the cloud Godzilla would jump out from the cloud and eat you. I carried a dental mirror for a long time after that...

When I was young I was afraid that there was a monster in my room that would take me away and the only way I was protected was if I had a barrier of blankets around my bed and within that barriar I would line my stuff animals side by side around my entire bed. Before falling a sleep I was check the blankets and stuff animals, at least three or five times, to make sure there were no openings because I was afraid the monster was going to take me away.

I used to believe…

when i was little the window to my room faced a portion of the street. at night i would see a light travel across my wall from one end to the other. it was always square shaped and happened sparadically (spelling). i assumed the lights were ghosts in my room. it wasnt until years later i realized everytime i saw those "ghosts" i heard a car drive by. it was the headlights shining through my window as they drove by. whenever i see a light go through the window at night, the first thing i think of are ghosts.

When I was 9, maybe, I noticed that Santa Clause had the same writing as my mom. I asked her about it one day and she said, "Oh! Makenna, he doesn't want you to know his handwriting, so he wakes me up early in the morning so I can write it."

When I was in about secon grade, I lost a tooth. My aunt asked me, "did you see the tooth fairy?" I said yes and that she was this big and was wearing a purple dress and had light brown hair that she wore real cute. If I still believed, I think that she would have really looked like that.

I used to believe that dummies (as in the puppet kind) came for me everynight to kill me. This was belief was started when I saw the Night of the Living Dummy Goosbumps video when I was about three. I remember pretending to be dead so the dummies wouldent be interested in killing me. This only stopped when I was about nine.

I used to believe…

Not really a monster as such, but when I was young I was convinced an evil Egon from Ghostbusters would put up a ladder to my window as I went to sleep. I had to make sure the curtains were completely closed so he couldn't see me.

When i was litttle for some strange reason i thought that santa lived in the pub by my nan''s house and that at christmas his reindeer would come out of a tree and then off they'd go.

I used to believe…

When I was a little girl, I convinced myself that if the only part of my body sticking out in bed was my face, then a monster would not be interested in eating me. I spent many nights wrapped up in the sheets, w/only my face sticking out.

I used to believe…

When I was a little 2nd grader me and my friend had imanginary friends. She had a giraffe named Fefe and I had a duck named Bebe.At lunch we would yell at people for sitting on them. We believed in them until we were 10. I know ...10!!!!!!! We used to talk to them and start conversations with them and people thought we were creeps. We convinced one of our friends they were real, but the others told her otherwise. I will remember them 4ever.

When I was about 4 or 5, after a Rugrats episode dealing with imaginary friends, I decided that I wanted one. Hence, the creation of "Barney." I believe I renamed him later to Melvin. He lived on the side of my neighbor's house. I did make another one, named Susie, but I disliked her and did her away. Melvin went away around the time I started school.

In fourth grade, I did have another imaginary friend, who happened to be Zim from the show Invader Zim. Some time later, my imaginary boyfriend, "Chris," joined the gang. I had them up until probably 8th grade. Those were some crazy times. :D

I used to believe…

For a few months when I was around 8 or 9, I believed I was being stalked by an Egyptian mummy. I even caught a glimpse of him once, peering through the closed curtains into the living, but I was too frightened to investigate.

I think it must have started when I would wake up after having a bad dream, and my heart would be beating so hard that I could hear it pounding in my ears. I remember laying in bed in terror because I thought my heartbeat was a giants footsteps, running down the street outside, coming to my house. I was too afraid to look out the window, and of course that just made my heart beat louder and stronger, the giant was getting closer!!! I believed in giants for awhile there, and it happened more than once.
