Whenever I was a kid, I had this belief that putting a tea towel over the toaster and turning it on was some how going to produce a magic trick.
I tried this once and my parents came in wondering where all the smoke was coming from, with me standing over this slightly on fire towel.

when i was in like second grade, i was at the after school care at my elementry school. i was playing on the playground with a few friends and two other friends came running and screaming out of the bathroom. they told us that they said "bloody mary" three times in the mirror, but instead of showing up in the mirror, she came through it and tried to stab them with a knife. we all were really freaked out and din't go into that bathroom after school for a whole year. i know they were lieing just to freak us out, but i still, to this day, have never said 'bloody mary' in front of a mirror.
I used to believe that whenever I woke up in the middle of the night, mummys would be standing around the bed, waiting for me to poke my head out from the sheets and wrap me up in toilet paper.

When i was little i saw a show about a farm. At night the scarecrow, very well lit in front of the garage, would come to life and kill one guest at the farm. Well, my neighbor across the street has a very well-lit garage, and I used to close my eyes when i walked to the curtain to close it for fear that the scarecrow would kill me even though I wasn't a guest anywhere, and i was nowhere near a farm. I once bruised my arm on my dressor when i walked to the curtain.
I used to believe that while i was walkin up the creeky old stairs (my hous is 94 yrs old) that the creeks & squeaks were people shouting HELP! and if you walk too slow they'd get you. I used to run up & down the stairs to keep away from those ghosts.

When I was young, I used to believe that churches were ghosts's houses. My family was not religious, so when we visited a church, I didn't understand why we had to keep quiet. So my Dad told me it was "not to wake the ghosts". Strangely enough, still now, I tend to associate churches and ghosts in my dreams.

Until I was around 10, I used to believe that if you weren't sleeping at midnight, vampires would come and feed on you, and that was the reason why your parents told you to go to bed early - for your safety. One day, I gathered all my courage and waited till midnight, hidden under my covers, pretending to sleep, in the hope I would catch sight of the vampires at the window, checking if I was sleeping. Needless to say they didn't come. Night lost a lot of its magic that night.

This Truck had steel bars on the windows. I was absolutly sure that the "Tomatoe" was going to be let loose and kill us all. Then the movie Revenge of the KillerbTomatoes came out. never watched it...
I used to believe that my entire life was a virtual simulator and that aliens that built the simulator were laughing at how goofy I looked just walking around in the middle of now where, doing akward things, and talking to nobody. I cant be sure thats not true....

when i was little i used to think that everyone were aliens and that they were acting as if they were actually the people i knew. whenever they did something wrong or said something in their alien language, they would be zapped and instantly repalced with another alien person.

My brother used to tell me stories about how he was a super spy with a companion dog that mom and dad didn't know about. The spy missions (including one involving evil Lego), the death of super dog, everything. Of course, I shouldn't be suprised: he used to pretend to be on the phone with the tooth fairy! I believed every word he said for a long while.....

I, like many children, had an immaginary friend. Only this friend lived in my brain and his name was Zoney. He was essentially the manager of my body (yeah i sound like a psycho). He was not alone though. My body had "workers" in every section and they all had very original names like footey, hearty, kneey, fingery, nosey...you get the point. Well whenever I would do something I would make bets with different parts of my body, i.e. i would bet my heart 100 blood cells that I could make a basketball shot. I later realized that I was a very stupid kid.
I must have ruined many of my classmates views of the world in 3rd grade, but here is another funny story. Christmas time was coming up and, I knew that Santa Clause didn't actually exist, the rest of my classmates believed in him. So, when we were all sharing our christmas stories, one of my classmates said that "they were going to wait up and see Santa Clause." So I decided to enlighten them by saying "Santa Clause doesn't exist, he's made up just like the easter bunny." once again my parents got phone calls from upset parents of my classmates asking why I was such a little smartass.

When i was little I believed that their were monsters in my room. I knew as a fact that you were safe from the monsters if you were under the blankets, so I would take three of four comforters and quite literally make a cocoon by wrapping myself in the blankets several times. I thought this was a great idea until i realized one thing, i had no air, so I would make air "tunnels" out of my cocoon. Needless to say i woke up several morning quite lost inside layers of blankets.

When i was first introduced to Casper the Friendly Ghost i immediately figured that surely there must be unfriendly ghosts and they would fly through my walls at night and try to harm me. I'd pleaded with my mom to stay with me until i fell asleep.
