I used to believe that when I could hear my heartbeat in my ears at night when I was drifting off to sleep that it was the incredible hulk coming up the stairs to get me. I would be waiting and waiting for him to arrive at my door - terrified - but eventually I would fall asleep.

When I was a child, I didn't have imaginary friends, I had imaginary pets. (I don't know why, I -had- a dog.) They were a tiny dog, cat, fish, bird, and hampster. They had their own minature classroom that sat on my desk at school, so they could learn too. (They were very tiny pets.) When we were in the car, I would toss them out the window and hang onto them with invisable leashes so they could get their exercise. I even figured the fish bowl had wheels on it. I don't remember when I stopped believing in my imaginary pets, but I really miss them. I think they're in an imaginary pet cemetary some where now.
....wish I knew what their names were....
i used to believe that there were monsters in my room when i went to bed and i made my mom make this "potion" that she had to spray every night before i went to bed..well i later found out there werent any monsters and that the "potion" was just some good old sink water.

When I was about 7, my younger brother (4 at the time) came home from Preschool with a "Leprechaun Finder." It was a piece of cardstock cut into the shape of a clover with green celophane in the middle. He explained to me that if you looked through it, you could see Leprechauns. He led me around the whole yard and inside the house, telling me he could see them, but they always ran as soon as I asked to see them because they were scared of me.
At one point I got incredibly frustrated and said to him "Tell the Leprechaun I'm not going to hurt him. I just want to pet him!" (who knows why I wanted to "pet" a leprechaun). He looked up at me and laughed and explained that it was a joke, and he had gotten me good.
Now that I look back at it, I was a real moron to let my little brother pull the wool over my eyes.
I always used to watch scary movies as a kid. Of course when it was time to go to sleep i would be scared. I always figured as long as no body part was off the bed and as long as i was covered by the blanket i couldnt be hurt by the monster. They only part that would be out was my nose to breath, but i always thought something was going to cut my nose off!

After watching the Wizard of Oz, I thought that all witches melted on contact with water. Then later I saw a Donald Duck cartoon where he dumped a water bucket on a witch as a prank, and she came out solid and perfectly fine! I guess I still have some studying to do, eh? ^_^'
I loved tricking my brother, so I told him I have magic powers. He actually believed me. So, to show him, I went to the outside basement door and pretended to put a spell on it. I went inside and he satyed out. I ran back out and told him that it was a land of 'SCARINESS!!!!' He still won't go in there until I reverse the spell.
I lived in Hawai'i for a long time, and we have many beliefs over there. Most of the kids ride in the back of their parents trucks, never inside the truck. Well, I loved to ride in the back. We lived in Kihei and a lot of our friends where on the other side of the island. There was a twisty road to get to the other side, and at night it would be scary from all the island ghost stories. I would freak out that a ghost was going to attack me in the back of the truck.

We had a heater or a radiator (or somthing i dont actually know wat it was) and it used to shake and i thought tht an alien lived inside it and it was an alien pod. (we had just watched the discovery channel special on UFOs)

When I was little I thought my older sister's expensive lotions, soaps, and various other beauty products were ingredients for witches potions. (My mother loved pointing out that she named my sister Angelique after the witch in Dark Shadows and I thought that meant she was a witch!) Well, I wanted to do magic too so every time I took a bath, I'd mix her beauty stuff up together in an empty bottle, shake it around, and squirt it on my barbie dolls in the (hoping something would happen to them I suppose). I assumed nothing did because I wasn't a witch. My sister still doesn't know I wasted her products like that.
I used to think that i could make an invisibility cloak (like harry potter) if i collected hairs from the carpet, cut off the dark bits (my famaily has dark hair), and sewed them toggeter. I stopped collecting when the big ball of hairs i had collected and put in a box had disssapered. Later i realized the truth.

I put a poster of a tiger on my front door so the monsters would get scared then run away from my room when i was little.

wjen i was six, i had barbie as my imaginary friend. We played on the swingset together, went swimming together, talked about boys, you name it. We were the best of friends. For some reason, i stopped believing in barbie when we moved to texas when i was eight. I'm now 13 and going to start high school next year, and still play with imaginary friends when i'm home alone or when i cant sleep at night. Weird, right?

when i was 12 a guy told me that if i kept a tub of water with rose petals in it in a dark room lit with candles alone infront of a mirror i would catch a fairy bathing!
I used to believe in Santa Clause and my mum was so good at convincing me that I believed it till I was 12. When she finally told me that Santa wasnt real I had the cheek to refute it because the milk and cookies were always gone on Christmas morning.

Once when i was at primary school, i lost a tooth and a teacher put it in a tissue for me. When i met my mum at the gate at the end of the day i gave her the peice of tissue and the tooth fell out onto the floor! i nearly cried because i thought the tooth fairy wouldnt visit and was extremley worried that she wouldnt visit.
She would also tell me that fairies lived at the bottom of the garden under the trees.
