From as far back as i can remember till I was about 11 i had an imaginary friend called Rabbit who looked like a mix between Bugs Bunny and Thumper Rabbit. He had to have his seat belt fastened in the car and lived under my bed with his mummy.

My dad dressed up as Santa Clause and all the kids sat on his lap and he gave them candycanes. when I got near the front of the line, I finally recognized him. I was shocked! I couldnt believe my dad was Santa! I didnt tell dad .I didnt want him to be upset because I found out his secret.

One time me and my family went to Red Lobster, but I thought they were saying Red Monster. I asked if that's what it was and my dad said "Yes, and those are the monsters in the aquarium." He regretted saying that once I started freaking out

I Used to Believe Faulkner Was a Monster
When I was a kid, we used to go to my maternal grandmothers house for Christmas and Easter. I had one Christian and (still have) one Jewish grandma, so we divided up the holidays. Somehow Thanksgiving became a Jewish holiday, but thats another story. Anyway, my sister and I always stayed in a room that used to belong to two of my aunts when they were kids. At the head of each bed is a kind of long alcove-shelf in the wall, lined with books from when the aunts were in high school and college. The most prominent book on my shelf, because of the design of the spine (Design of the Spine sounds like a terrible mystery novel doesnt it?) was a paperback Faulkner anthology. It was pea green, with FAULKNER written in what looked like salmon-colored streaks of blood. In fact the font was almost identical to that of Helter Skelter, the book about the Manson Family that grandma had in the den.
As a kid, I assumed that FAULKNER was a monster, like FRANKENSTEIN(s monster) or DRACULA. Sometimes, before going to sleep, I had to turn the FAULKNER book around backwards, so the scary name faced the wall.
Ironically, I fanatically love Faulkner now. Hes definitely not warm and cuddly, but he wont come after you with an axe, either.
I used to belive at Christmas time Santa would come down the chimney do his thing and ride back to the North Pole ON a reindeer!!!

When I was a kid, I was so scared of the "Bloody Mary" story, not only would I not go to the bathroom at night, I wouldn't even say the name Bloody Mary, just incase she was listening. To be safe, I thought of her simply as BM.
One day, my grandmother took me to the mall, and told me to wait on a bench because she had to go to the bathroom and make a BM (Bowel-Movement). I started to cry and begged her not to do it.
My grandma still thinks I'm nuts.

Clint Eastwood, Mrs. Doubtfire, Barney, And Big Bird were my imaginary friends. We would have fancy dinners every sunday and talk about stuff.
i used to squint my eyes at the nightlight at night and see a star shaped object and i talked to him every night. he didnt have a name, he was a gold like figure and then one day my nightlight broke and i thought he had died "MUMMY! HES DEAD HES DEAD" i cried "Yes dear thats nice" said mum as she typed away on the computer. i never forgot about him. sometimes i got angry with him and killed him by closing my eyes and i would amagine him say OH NO NOOOO and then get a stik and a top hat and start dancing "hello my baby hello my hunny" song for no reason at all! lol it was creepy.

Like most children when i was a kid i had imaginary friends. my family still talks about it . but what they dont know is that i never lost them. my best friend thinks its silly when i admitted to him after he caught me talking to the thin air. But do i give up on these friends whose been there for me since forever .... maybe im just nuts:P
I used to believe that certain nightlights could protect me from monsters in the night. It had to look like crystal and it had to have no bulb like normal nightlights. It had to plug directly into the socket.

When I was a kid I thought the dementors from Harry Potter came into my room at exactly midnight every night. If I wasn't asleep by then with my covers covering my ears and nose, they'd suck up my soul. Don't ask me where that one came from...

when i was little i thought that if you werent asleep when santa came he would take all your presents back and you would have none

my mum told me that on midnight on Christmas eve all the animals could talk to each other and tell Santa what they wanted for Xmas. The amount of time I spent listening out for them. When I was old enough to know better I always laughed at her for saying this, however i am guilty of telling my son the same story!

When I was little I didn't believe in Santa Clause but I swore up and down that the Easter Bunny was real.

When I was eleven I watched the movie Kiki's Delivery Service and I became convinced that I could learn how to fly a broom. I didn't want my mom to see me trying and ridicule me so when she wasn't looking I would go look for the broom and attempt to fly on it. It never worked and I even tried looking on the Internet for instructions on how to fly a broom (and failed). After a while it became harder to find the broom and attempt to fly on it without my mom or dad seeing so I gave up. A tiny part of me probably still carries that belief but I just don't have the time to try it anymore.
