when I was telve or so i picked up on another imaginary freind the beast from the disney movie beauty and the beast. (in case you havent notice most of my imaginary freinds are disney charecters) and I had him cause i got poke fun at school and became the laughing stock of the school and needed help and lessons on how to be mean so I resorted to the beast. (since he can get mad good) and i ended up in the office twice one day and said "why am I in trouble the beast taught me to do it" from there out I hated the beast

When I was very litte (4 or 5) and I would be in my bed at night I would think I heard Dracula walking across my carpeted floor coming to get me (why Dracula, I don't know) I discovered later that I was just hearing my own heartbeat when my ear was pressed against my pillow.

When I was little we would watch Chiller Theater while my parents played cards with my aunt & uncle until the wee hours of the morning on Friday nights. One movie that really frightened me was "The Tingler". My older brother had me convinced that he could become "The Tingler" at will and would anytime I didn't do what ever he wanted. He would roll his eyes back in his head, stick his bottom teeth over his upper lip and groan"Ughhh, tingler, tingler". I did alot of his chores and I was in my early 20's before I would enter a room before turning on the light first. Thanks alot Steve for the emotional scars.

I was afraid to be alone in the house when it was dark. I believed that a human skeleton would appear out of nowhere and strangle me. (I thought the skeleton was the creepiest thing on earth) I had a skeleton costume for Halloween, and as long as I was wearing that, I was not afraid.

My older sister used to tell me that Santa Claus had a huge TV set to keep watch over all the kids to see how they're behaving. I thought that whenever I said a naughty word or misbehaved, he would put a check mark by my name, and the more marks I got, the less toys I received. Of course that still didn't stop me from misbehaving, or saying naughty words.

I used to believe that there was a trap door to my vampire hideout underneath my bed, where my friends and I (Queen of the Vampire Club) would congregate each night. The trap door was really just the area where a fireplace once was.

A kid looses a tooth, they put it under the pillow... and PWUFFT!... The very next morning, there's a few shiny coins and if you're really lucky, and dollar or two. Right?

Well, at least that's what "I", the little runny-nosed runt that I was thought how it went.

Because of an oral problem I had as a baby, I had to have all of my baby teeth surgically removed when I was five. I was so jealous when my sisters had loose teeth and got money and I stayed stone broke.

So imagine my seven-year-old joy when I "found" one of my teeth next to my mouth on the bed. My mum said it must've fallen out overnight and that I could put it under my pillow. She said the tooth fairy noticed my good behavior and decided to let me use it for her "Services" for being a good little girl.
Little did I know that my mum used one of my teeth from my recent surgery to trick me into thinking the tooth fairy had magically extracted a tooth. She must've felt sorry that I couldn't experience the "magic" of the toothfairy like the other kids. And after I thought I was "so special".

She would have gotten away with it too... if "the tooth fairy" hadn't written her note on a very familiar piece of fancy white bordered pad paper with yellow roses on it.
I was a very sneaky kid and liked to snoop around in moms room. Finding lots of interesting things like... I dunno; a strange gel that tasted like cherries, a long shiny metal thingy that vibrated, a box with a man wearing a helmet like Marvin the Martian... and oh yeah... a notepad full of pretty paper with yellow roses on it. When I found it under my pillow along with the doe, I could even see the pen outline of mum's work schedule on the page she had given me.

Bummer.

So mum was a liar and the only way I'd loose a tooth again was if I picked a fight with the wrong guy... but hey... I got five dollars and a stick of Double Mint............. SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At my summer camp, there was a random sign that said "please don't feed the elephant" When I asked a counselor where the elaphant we couldn't feed was, she said that there used to be one here, but it died, and we weren't to feed its ghost either. That night I swore i heard huge elephant footsteps and hid under my covers all night.

When I was little, not only did I have an imaginary friend named Jessica, but I thought that all my toys were alive! They just didn't move- usually- when I was watching.

These beliefs came at different times, though; in between was the belief that there were people in my closet when the lights were off. They were very tall, dark, shadowy people. (In reality, they were my outfits and not moving around.)

When I was little, I sincerely believed that my dresser turned into a monster at night. So I devised a fool-proof plan to keep the monster from getting me: I would put my toy Smurf on my head as I slept, and then the monster would think I'm a moose and it wouldn't eat me. Sure enough, it worked. The dresser monster just sat there staring at me all night, but never once tried to eat me.

To this day, I still sleep a little bit sounder if I put my Smurf on my head...

My brother and I used to sneak and watch Chiller Theater even though we weren't allowed to. After watching a few episodes back to back - The Mummy and Dracula.. I was so afraid when I went to bed that something was going to get me, I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. I believed that I'd be safe from the vampire if I slept with a cross around my neck and I slept with my arms and legs all sprawled out so I couldn't I couldn't be mummified while I was sleeping!

When I was a lot younger, probably 7 ot younger, I heard the legend of Bloody Mary from my sisters. The one I heard was that if you spun around three times and said bloody Mary three times in the bathroom with the lights off she would come and give you a long scratch down your arm. It scared me to death but I acted brave. Then I was also told about Mary's best friend, the Candy man. If you said Candy Man three times and spun around, he would scratch your eyes out. It still scares me to go into the bathroom at night if there's no one in the next room. Probably because I'm afraid of the dark though.

After I watched "The Lost Boys" I was terrified of vampires. I thought one lived in my closet, and I slept with garlic around my neck, and had a sharpend wooden crucifix under my pillow
