I used to believe…

For some reason, whenever I was in a room without an adult, I always used to think there were some sort of monsters in there.
Any time my mom would ask me to go downstairs to help her out with something and the lights were off, I would run down the stairs, do whatever it was she asked me to do, then run back up the stairs ten times quicker.
I believed that whatever was down there was going to prevent me from running up the stairs and would suck me back down.

I used to believe…

As a child, I never slept by myself in my own room. I had to call my mother to sleep with me or I went to her room.

Why?

I had a phobia that Batman would appear at the foot of my bed at night.

This is my little brother's belief:

He used to tell us that he had a secret other family that he went to at night. His father was Pete, a fat man with a mustache and a bowler cap. His mother was Chip, a lady who always wore her hair in a ponytail. Then there was his sister, Flower, and his baby brother, Chuck. When he was bored with them, he would give us the news that they had all died in a freak submarine accident. Two weeks later, he would report that they had been found among the wreckage without injuries, and that they were alive and kicking. When I inquired how he could have two families, he proposed that he had been born by two mothers. Half of him had been born from my Mom, and the other half was from Chip.

Yeah...he was weird, all right.

when i was 5 yrs old i believed that if i would go to the bathroom at 12 midnight and chant 'bloody mary' three times with your eyes closed a very gruesome bloody lady would come out of the bathroom mirror and talk to you.I was so spooked that i would hardly look into ANY mirror in the night.and i normally would have to control my ' nature call' till d morning.

My little sister used to have an imaginary friend called Jason Emmiel. She never got to meet him, but she used to talk to him on the phone (dunno what she heard?) and send him faxes by putting notes under the phone.

hall of fame

I used to believe that leprechauns lived under the clover patches in my backyard and that if I made clover cards they would come visit me in my house.

I was told by my sister that if you shouted 'Bloody Mary' in front of any mirror three times then Mary (Queen of Scots) would come out from the mirror with an axe, covered in blood to kill you! And even though I don't believe in this anymore I still can't bring myself to say it that third time, I've tried and I always chicken out!

When I was about 3, I was awake in the middle of the night, and my uncle had fallen asleep on the couch with the tv on. I wanted to watch it, but I knew that I'd get in trouble for being up. So, I put a blanket over my head (an afghan, with the holes in) so I could be a ghost. I thought my uncle wouldn't be able to see me, so I watched tv through the holes.

I had an imaginary friend named Scarlett Sheffield. She was British, with long blonde hair, long bangs, and plump red lips. She was always in haute couture and would often tell me what to wear. Sometimes, even now at age 13, when I am getting dressed I still hear her voice in my head saying, "That doesn't match..."

I used to believe…

When I was a kid I believed that a scary witch lived in the hallway wardrobe, outside the bedroom... Her name was 'Hufsa' and was a mean and ugly old witch that kidnapped and maybe ate kids!!!
Me and my brother shared a bedroom, and sleeped in bunkbeds. Since he was 4 years older than me he had the top one. I began sleeping with the duvet over my head, so that she wouldn't come in and take me..
And who told me about 'Hufsa'? Yes, my brother that's who... *lol* He said that she would come and take me, not him - 'cause she was so small she couldn't reach the top bunk!
At night when the lights were out, I could easily imagine there was something strange hiding amongst the coates in the wardrobe.... and strange noises and breathing I could hear... (my brother perhaps?)
Ofcourse I don't believe in 'Hufsa' anymore.., but I still have a bad habit of sleeping with the duvet over my head sometimes! *smile*

This wasn't mine, this was my sister's. She used to think that I was really a cat named Beyonickle and that I was her cat/human daughter (she's two years younger than me). I hated this game a whole lot, and would only play it because she would feed me "treats", usually Cheetos. I'd make a weird "ahh ahh!" noise and she'd say "Oh Nickle! Are you hungry?" and give me Cheetos. Once they were all gone, I'd say I was tired of playing.

Needless to say, we don't do that anymore.

I used to think I had an invisable friend named Rose. I remember getting mad at my best friend because she said HER invisable friend was Rose. I also remember talking to "Rose" in my room, like a real normal conversation with a real person. My sisters always heard me talk to "Rose" too.
